The tap & pay functionality is convenient but also a great risk as anyone can make a payment up to R500 should your card gets lost. It is also not possible to decrease the daily R500 payment limit to a smaller amount, it’s only possible to deactivate the service. After deactivating the service, it can only be reactivated by inserting the card with the next payment.My suggestion is to add a functionality to amend the maximum tap payment amount and add a temporary limit. If one can set your tap payment permanent limit to R1 and be able to increase it in the app just before making a tap payment, it will remove the risk of unauthorized payment. The temporary limit should then reset automatically to the R1 permanent limit after 12 hours.

The app is a massive improvement over the previous version. I badly wanted biometric security to be available, and it‘s finally present. The track feature is a great addition and will surely help with saving. I do however really hope that the system learns for future reference when you categorize uncategorized transactions, and when you change transactions from one category to another, otherwise it will prove to be too cumbersome and perhaps useless. Things I do really want: Why can I not swipe from the left to go back to the previous screen? This works on every app in iOS except this one, very unintuitive to reach to top left corner the whole time. Very irritating. If loading times could be sped up that would be great as well, as I don’t really understand why every page must load first. Also, is there a possibility to bring the app to iPad? I would love to have the app on my iPad as well and for it to sync with my phone, but I understand if that’s impossible for security reasons. Lastly, when categorizing it is cumbersome to tap on the small dot the whole time, please allow users to tap on the word/name/bar. Thanks for the great work!

Capitec has done some improvements on the app which is great but now the app give me more problems that anticipated solutions. I use an iPhone 11 and whenever I try to sign it, the app 1. Keeps loading without any success of signing in 2. It always leaves error messages like I should shutdown the app and sign in again 3. It sometimes rejects my login pin and says it incorrect then when I try again it then lets me sign it! 3. The biometrics sometimes refuses facial recognition whereby I have to try several times just to cash send or continue with re- registration in my bank app 4. Now this one is new it says today when I want to sign it that it doesn’t recognise the installation of the app and it’s confusing because I didn’t delete nor tried to install the app I simply was trying to sign into the app!! This is sooo frustrating ! Oh and one last thing Capitec sometimes pays itself R3s and R5s debited out of my account now and then without cause or without me owing anything because when I check my transactions the same amount doesn’t appear it seems to have vanished into thin air! This is the other reason why I am definitely going to switch banks!!!!
