Im really enjoying using this app. I decided to upgrade to the paid version to be able to add additional languages and was pleasantly surprised that audio messages could be converted in to a transcript, too. i really enjoy the free features messaging via text based communication is free. i appreciate that, though i wish the number of translations weren't limited then followed by a pay wall. otherwise the other users have been pleasant and helpful this far.

This application is incredibly useful for learning languages from native speakers. You have options to save phrases and you can always check them when you want. You can choose the target language (only one without in app purchase) and talk every day with up to 10 new people. You can take a certificate test to prove your fluency and get recommendations from the community. It also offers instant translations (a few per day). Furthermore all people I have met are very friendly and helpful.

Not the best but the app helps a lot to get news friends, study mates, to perform cultural exchange and more. I'd be amazing if you guys could change the rules or the way the app works., I mean it's great, but people only talk to others who are gorgeous and good-looking, not always the rest of people. The idea is to have a real interest in people.

Why are my messages showing as sent but not delivered?

If you send a message to your language exchange partner and they have their status set to "offline on Tandem,they are not connected to the internet at the time, or are having connection issues, your message wll remain assent until they come back to their chat list and refresh their chat stream Your message will then be marked as"delivered" until they have read your message which will be marked as "read"

I submitted my application but haven't been accepted into the community yet. Why is this?

Your application can get rejected for several reasons, including if you're under 16 years of age, or haven't used areal profile photo or name. Each application is individually reviewed, which can also take time, and occasionally,there is a waitlist in certain countries to keep our community and languages balanced.
