Introduction

DuckStation is a free emulator of the Sony PlayStation console, focusing on playability, speed, and long-term maintainability. The program provides the most accurate simulation of the PlayStation console while maintaining performance suitable for low-end devices. However, ‘hack’ options are discouraged. The default configuration should support all playable games with only some of the enhancements having compatibility issues.

Features:

Some notes before use

Keep in mind that DuckStation is a fairly old system, so your Android device needs to meet some important precautions in order to fully enjoy the available games. First, you need ROM BIOS to start this application and start enjoying the games. There are many ways to get ROM but the most common way is to get ROM from Caetla which is exported as scphNNNN.bin or ps-NNN.bin.

Basically, DuckStation is just a regular emulator so it won’t include all of your favorite games. This app acts as an intermediary to help you connect to your favorite games after purchasing games from a third party. Finally, this app supports many image formats like cue, iso, img, ecm, mds, chd. It is recommended that you convert your favorite game to an existing format so that it can be played.

User manual

How to use this application is relatively simple and not difficult for users to use for the first time. Accordingly, you need to download, install and launch DuckStation for the first time. Then add a game folder by tapping the add button that appears on the screen and selecting a folder. Select “Edit Game Folders” from the menu if you want to add additional folders. Finally, you just need to touch the icon of the respective game to get started right away. During the first experience, the system will prompt you to enter the BIOS image.

Provides a lot of customization related to the game

DuckStation allows users to make many customizations related to existing games. If you are not really satisfied with the related issues, you can easily customize it to best suit your experience needs such as remapping settings for controllers and more. Accordingly, the games in this application are supported by up to 8 different controllers. If a controller is available, you can easily connect to this application while still ensuring the main features of the controller.

Support multiple devices

As of now, DuckStation is compatible with many different Android devices. Includes both 32-bit/64-bit and 64-bit x86 ARM devices. To enjoy the games in this application smoothly, you need to own an Android device with moderate hardware. Accordingly, you will need at least a 1.5GHz CPU to ensure a stable game experience. Do not expect too much stable operation of this emulator if you are using a 32-bit ARM device.

Three notes before using DuckStation

First note: You need a ROM BIOS to start this app and start playing the game. ROMs can be obtained from Caetla and several other ways, usually exported as scphNNNN.bin or ps-NNN.bin.

Second note: The DuckStation app itself does NOT include the game. You may only use DuckStation to play games purchased exclusively from a legitimate third party.

Third note for DuckStation users: This app supports multiple game format images like cue, iso, img, ecm, mds, chd and unencrypted PBP. So if you have the game in hand in another format, you will have to convert to the existing formats.

Conclusion:

DuckStation is an excellent PlayStation emulator for Android, that makes it possible to play some of the best video games in history. Although at first glance the sheer number of options may seem overwhelming, the truth is that you hardly have to touch any of the options at all in order to start playing and enjoying the app.
