Dev Notes

Hey everyone! I hope you're enjoying the v0.45 release!

This marks the second update in the current payment cycle, and things are moving along surprisingly smoothly. We actually managed to hit our estimated release date pretty consistently. Honestly, I’m kind of impressed we pulled it off! One thing I’ve noticed, the game file size is getting a bit heavy, which is starting to slow down load times. I’m currently looking into ways to reduce the overall size without sacrificing render quality. Fingers crossed, by the next update we should be able to bring the total game size down by at least 20%.

On another note, the rewrite is going well, we’re about 30% through. Roughly 20,000 lines of dialogue have already been reworked. Just a heads-up though, rewritten content isn’t included in this update. It will be released as a separate version once it's ready. Alright, time to head back to the writing board. The premise of the story that developer LoveStory has gone for here truly did spark my interest. We have this loving couple who really do love each other, but the wife finds out that her husband has a major fetish for her being with other guys. As she loves him so much, she is more than willing to do other dudes as she just wants to make him happy. This is a storyline that many of us have seen before in other lewd visual novels, but there was something about the way it was described that really clicked with me.

The thing is, Devoted Wife may have a pretty cool idea for a story, but the execution is not all that great. With the way the story was described, it sounded to me like LoveStory was going for a real emotional kind of thing where the wife struggles, but nope, that is not the case. It also sets it up like it will be a young lodger who awakens her cheating desires, but nope, she just sucks and bangs whoever she can and there is no real emotion from her or her husband that she is doing it for! Plus, they just start introducing characters at a pretty wild rate, and they want you to pay for them too! I would be ok with that if the characters actually had some character and were interesting.

That is a dated Porky’s reference for you, but the point I am getting at here is why do the guys have these long, but super thin penises? The wife, Rina, is an Asian cutie, but the characters in general have a bit of a dated look about them. You could have told me that this is a game from the early to mid-2010s, and I would have honestly believed you. To be fair, the developer does not mess around all that much and you do get to the XXX stuff pretty quickly and regularly. However, your young lodger is just way too short, so the stuff with him, which you think is going to be the most impactful stuff in the story, feels rather odd.
