This is an amazing game that should not be free, however I will now recommend to anyone wanting to get into dating sims BECAUSE it is so good and free. The art, music, and story are all great; the first few days are a tad cringe, but it passes. The DLC is super reasonable and an AMAZING addition, especially if you're looking for more real 'happily ever after' endings. (DOU is the best imo) I will be checking out other games from this dev.

I haven’t played many games like this so my take might be kinda biased just fyi First off, gotta say—the main character pov(mb me??? or whatever idk what the proper term is lmao) actually felt pretty immersive this time. Like usually in these games the love interest is super fleshed out but the main character(me ont grim) is just there as a blank slate… this one didn’t feel like that so props for that fr.

That being said, imo the main character still had some rlly cliché traits. Like she has to be pretty (I’m she/her btw), not just cute but like conventionally pretty pretty. He complimented my looks so many times. Then it’s like “your soul is unique,” “you symbolize life,” “you’re so kind” blah blah. It felt super generic. Like bro what exactly do you like about me?? None of that felt like the actual me, so it kinda just felt like watching two strangers fall in love.And if I do try to self-insert, it’s like I gotta be pretty, kind, and some standout chosen-one type just to be worthy of love?? Yeah no thanks.I get that these kinds of games tend to have stuff like that, and don’t get me wrong it’s still a really cute and well-made story. Just hoping future ones feel a bit more personal.

A Date with Death is a VN where you get to pet a cat. Made it to the end in 4.5 hours using the mouse. Difficulty is N/A. There's a dlc with more, but I played without it (so far) and heavily enjoyed my playthrough.I 100% recommend this game. Death is such a dork, and so freaking cute and emo. You can play as a woman or man (if male it's lgbtq+). And the chat interface is different in a good way. So many emojis to be shared. Such a good soul. Much love. Would play again.
