In Free Cities, players are transported to a unique parallel world, where they become slaves of slave owners. To achieve freedom, they must launch their own revolution, transforming this parallel universe from slavery to freedom. The world in the game constantly changes based on the player's actions. Each player's actions influence the player's favorability towards different factions and their impact on the world, leading to different storylines. Players will also encounter charming companions, and as they journey with them, they will gradually unlock various adult gameplay and erotic scenes.
In FCO you are thrown into the world years after the fall of modern civilization. The Gregorian calendar while still in use, has reset its year sometime in the past. You start as an unfortunate soul who is enslaved by slave owner Shintani Hiroyuki, who, unbeknownst to him, is obsessed with his Japanese heritage and seeks to rebuild the civilizations for the myths of old.
The game takes the player on a journey from slavehood to eventually the main character in a power struggle between settlements and the last centralized power, the Trade Union. From here, the player can align themselves with a particular faction, effecting the entire game world. The world itself is dynamic and constantly changing, many of these changes are completely unknown to the player until they receive higher status and thus intel. The world also features a dynamic economy that operates on Supply-and-Demand, and simulated Brownian motion.
The final phase of the game (in development) is to build a settlement from the ground up which will be the first Free City. We plan to have complex diplomatic and economic actions against other settlements, and of course, complex actions with player vassals and subjects.

Ambassadors will help advance all aligned society models in the targeted arcology, and will attack some but not all conflicting society models.
General Ambassadorial influence is based on effectiveness in the public servant role, but slaves who embody society models will be better at advocating for them.
All growth drugs except lip injections can now be intensively applied, increasing growth speed at the cost of health and genome damage.

Lmao, yeah, I like reading overall and I'm not questioning this quality from the author but as English isn't my mother tongue I'm not sure it's still worth for me to play & read plain full text if I got to search for a word's signification at every line, especially if it's some kind of elaborated/sophisticated story.
If you ask me Free Cities is one of the best if not the best text based game you can find the only proplem i see with it is the lack of some content like deffrent ways to interact with slaves or more individual ways to interact with them. I would as well appreciate if the creator would include more fetishes. Anything above normal sex as an action is no available, though im aware of the fact that there are some included like one fisting scene inbetween the weeks. Another thing i would love to see is a more developed buisness system cause in the current sate you can just build a dairy and money isnt a problem anymore.
I must say that this game -with the little addition of the pregmod- is the only one who got me hooked for a good bunch of days.I mean, there is plenty of great games, with great 3D scenes, but overall, to permit to create those great 3D scenes, they tend to be limited in freedom. FreeCities permits to play with a great amount of combinations and actions. On the downside, as noted by other users, it suffers from the problem that a lot of openworld/sandbox/freeroaming game suffer: lack of challenge, from a certain point forward.All in all, anyway, I like it. So I wonder: is there a list of other games with an openworld/sandbox/freeroaming attitude listed here? (I'd prefer HTMLs for portability, but Renpy works well too; other formats might collide with Wine)? If no, we migth start one.
