Reviews:

Early game review. Growth is slow, and a bit linear, but it's realistic. Stranded Deep is a survival with much more real concepts and limits. The music and ambient design is great. I keep confusing the controls, and it causes some frustration- but that's on me for playing on controller.There are some minor bugs I run into a lot during gameplay, or also when hunting for them. Empty coconut husks being turned into a pile makes the whole pile drinkable again. There's some multiplication glitches if you mess with the menus. Some are much more minor like the character not aligning with ladders in animation when climbing, or there being no way of knowing durability of tools or when they break until after the fact.The game is fun and is one of my favorite survival sims. Some of the glitches require some brain power to actively deny, due to the slow growth in a game. The concept of island-hopping and exploring is fun and offers an interesting way to obtain resources. Not perfect, and graphically can be challenging sometimes, but very fun and immersive. When played as intended, I find this game more enjoyable when looking for something realistic. Recommended.For me, Stranded is a nice balance between survival and tranquility.I'm just fine taking my time, going from island to island, organising my shabby house, collecting as many plants as possible or building doubtful rafts. As a matter of fact, I've never actually beaten the bosses (or even tried to beat them)...and I might never. Maybe I do prefer something a little "boring" or "repetitive" ; not nerve racking or stressful (my most played game is Minecraft, if that gives any indication on my game style).Stranded Deep is actually quite a pretty game. There are many utensils to craft and different materials, plants, foods, objects to collect. I personally really enjoy it and recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful distraction.

I bought Stranded Deep to play with a friend, but the multiplayer has serious syncing problems. After 1–2 hours, items disappear, parts of the raft don’t show up, and sometimes I can’t build anymore. We constantly have to reload the game, and even then it takes a long time for the world to sync again. This makes the game frustrating and unplayable in co-op. The gameplay itself is great, but the syncing issues made it too frustrating to continue we managed about 15 hours before giving up

Final words:

The crafting element of Stranded Deep is excellent. Rather than using an inventory pane, players need to craft items on the ground in front of them. This puts players right in the middle of the action and makes the game very realistic. To make things even more challenging, players need to remember to keep an eye on their vitals, namely hunger, thirst and health which are all displayed on a wristwatch. This makes finding food and water essential and players have to collect coconuts and potato plants and catch and cook crabs and a variety of different fish such as sardines, marlin, pilchards and cod.
