The general path you'll need to take to make MJ a success goes something like this:

Make MJ work as a waitress, then as she earns some money, choose to pay for drama and dance lessons, gym membership, beauty salons etc…

Improve her stats in different areas (Body and mind) to open new opportunities

Find better jobs… Model, dancer, gym trainer, actress…

Increase fame - Increase money

Increase perversity (optional) which will unlock strip/nude/XXX jobs.

As you work with MJ in her journey, you can influence her character too. She might stay as the prudish and conservative but obedient girl you first met, or she can slowly turn into an independent, adventurous diva who spends all your money! Or she can be somewhere in the middle. There will be also be a lot of other female characters to meet and conquer. Given the way everyone knows Hollywood seems to work, it was difficult to design a game story that was both realistic and without any NTR content. You might ask yourself, how is this possible with a title like this? I don’t want to spoil anything, but if you are familiar with Goss_IP, you’ll know I like plot twists.

One of the things that makes TableTop BornStar so challenging is the fact that there is a lot of depth to the game. There are a lot of different strategies that players can use, and the game rewards players for thinking outside the box. However, this depth can also be a bit overwhelming for new players. Another thing that makes TableTop BornStar challenging is the fact that the game is very unforgiving. If players make a mistake, they can be punished severely. This can be frustrating at times, but it also adds to the sense of challenge and accomplishment.

Despite its challenges, TableTop BornStar is a very rewarding game. The game is full of interesting characters, challenging quests, and beautiful environments. The combat system is also very well-done, and it is satisfying to defeat enemies in battle. Overall, TableTop BornStar is a great game for fans of turn-based strategy games. The game is challenging, rewarding, and full of content. However, the game’s complexity may be a bit overwhelming for some players.

The Artwork is great and the girls look beautiful and some of them are Born Actresses.The dicerolling mechanic is an interesting idea, although I’m not sure overall it works entirely. At first I mostly accepted the rolls I got (although I did go bankrupt right at the start because I missed the job a few times). Later I started savescumming when I realized I might not have enough stats to hit certain events. So the game’s tabletop design clashes a bit with stat requirements for limited events. After I had a ton of money, I really wanted to increase stats more than go to the job again. Still it’s a not that difficult to get stats, and it’s fun to see something different.

How is it made?

Same as with "Goss_IP", this game is created in English with Ren'py and features 2D artworks (made in Krita) and also animated XXX scenes. The art (sprites and elements) are mostly hand-traced outlines of real images, colored and shaded accordingly, and the backgrounds are processed photos. I've drawn comics on paper almost all my life. But I found that with tracing I can work faster and achieve the visual look I want for this product. But don't think I'm taking the easy way out, as even with this technique every image is still hand drawn and takes between 4-8 hours…

Why 1999?

I’m writing this in 2020. Almost everyone suffers the consequences of a global pandemic. Covid-19 has confined most of us indoors. And everyone, I mean everyone, is saying thank goodness there is internet. Imagine if we lived this lock down twenty years ago… Well, I tried to recreate that ‘infernal’ scenario, with the MC confined indoors, with a slow internet connection and only some video games at his disposal to pass the time.

The late 90s sucked tech-wise, without smartphones, high speed internet etc. but at the same time it was a great period for show business. 1999 was even greater year. Awesome Movies (Fight club, Matrix, Star Wars Ep.1, Sixth Sense and more), music (Napster came out that year but with those slow internet speeds wasn’t yet much of a threat for the industry), peak television (MTV, Friends and ER) and of course the XXX industry. Digital means of piracy were available but not as common as today. In short, the companies ruled almost everything.

Nowadays, although piracy is huge, I believe there’s more meritocracy. Indie artists such as myself can reach their audiences and get positive or negative feedback and financial support almost from anyone, anywhere.

In 1999, the road to success was a different one. For artists, it wasn’t just important how good you were, but mostly who you knew. And a crucial role to reach fame and fortune, came down to agents and managers.

How serious am I?

Although game development isn’t my day job, I dedicate a lot of time and effort to be a better coder, writer, artist etc. Old friends and supporters already know that I’ve always respected the deadlines and for 18 months, Goss_IP releases were never late, not even for one day. I’ll try to show the same professionalism in this project too. But I don't fool myself: I'm not as good as I aim to be, and I know I need to keep working and improving. I’ll get to work with it as soon as I finish this project. I love Goss_IP. I’m dying to see Ted and Ivan’s new adventures. But, right now it’s TTPS turn.

Conclusion:

You control a washed-up talent agent in Hollywood, California in 1999. He is currently under house arrest. Confined in his office, he tries to guide MJ, a young, pretty country girl who dreams of being an actress, to fame and riches. Whether he takes advantage of her or sincerely tries to help her through life is up to you.
