Walkthrough:

Welcome to DOOM II: Hell on Earth! A few notes before we get into it: again, for anyone who is familiar with our guide for the first DOOM game, we're playing on the Ultra-Violence difficulty level, and we're looking to get all accessible secrets, including the secret maps found halfway through the game. As we're on UV, the enemies or items described might occasionally differ on lower difficulty levels. We must also point out that when we use directions such as "north", "west", "south" and "east", this is in accordance with the Automap, which you can access at any point during play, by pressing the Triangle button.

From the off, turn to the left of your starting position, and you'll see a short corridor that leads to an outside balcony, where you can claim a Chainsaw! Now return to your starting point, and you can drop down to the floor below and use either your Pistol or new-found Chainsaw to take out a couple of Zombiemen in this room, picking up the Clips they leave behind for a few extra bullets and a few other goodies in this room, before heading through and along the hallway, around the bend leading right.

Some more Zombiemen and an Imp will be in this segment of the corridor to greet you, so take them all out as well. There is a door on your left (leading to the northern room), where in here are two Imps, and a few more Zombiemen on some raised platforms. Shoot them all down with your pistol. Now, on two of the platforms are switches; you want to press the one that is on the right, nearest the entrance door, and this opens a previously-hidden compartment in the north-east corner of the room with two Stimpacks and an Armor vest [SECRET 1/5].

The other switch lowers the pillars, thus allowing you to claim the Clips dropped by the Zombiemen after killing them all. Do note, that if you press this one first, while you won't be able to see the switch on the other platform, you can still activate it by standing in the right place and pressing the Cross button. Anyway, once this is all done, head back out to the previous hallway, and you can head into the eastern room to grab a bunch of Health Bonuses, then back a little and down the passage leading south, shooting (or chainsaw-ing) down any remaining Zombiemen or Imps here, to reach a brown-floored room. Over to the left, you'll see a cage in the wall, behind which is an Imp, so you want to kill it so that it won't bother you by throwing fireballs while you're in this room. Now, go to the opposite end of this room and press the switch on the wall to lower a lift there. Be ready to quickly kill an Imp on this lift before you step on it and ride it up to the top, where, if you examine the back wall, you'll find a secret area [SECRET 2/5]; be ready yet again to take out a couple more Imps!

Behind those Imps is another switch on the wall; go ahead and flip it. Now turn around, and run ahead full speed back out into the room below, and if done right, you should land on a metal stand near the lift. If you now return back to the previous hallway and return to the room on the east where all those Health Bonuses were, you'll now find that the back wall has raised to reveal a secret room, where you can claim a Rocket Launcher [SECRET 3/5]!

Return to the brown-floored room and look in the south-east corner, where just left of the window, you'll find a doorway leading outside has now opened. Step out here and into the outdoor area, where a few Imps will greet you. Behind them, you can find a Shotgun and some ammo to help you kill them all [SECRET 4/5].

Head back inside, and if you examine the wall on your right, you ought to find one last hidden door; kill a couple more Imps inside the little compartment it reveals, and inside you can grab a Stimpack and armor; it also counts as the final official secret of the level [SECRET 5/5].

All that's left to do now is open the nearby exit door, kill one remaining Imp in the exit room and grab the three Medikits here if you need to top up your health. Flip that green switch on the wall, and thus concludes the first level of the game!

It's a great port of doom2 but the controls aren't that great. I have gotten used to thetouch controls but it took quite some time. If the developers aren't gonna fix them. Atleast enable a way to connect a blue tooth keyboard and mouse. Keyboard and mousedoes work but you can't turn or fire your weapon. I feel like it's such a low effort fix. Theyshould also allow button mapping for touch controls as well. The activate button is in aweird spot on the screen. I'm just hoping they take all these comments into considerationsince 90% of them are complaining about the controls. Oh and one more thing! PIz allowonline multiplayer so we can go demon hunting with friends. I hope you take this reviewinto consideration. Thank You! -David

First off, I'm going to say, this is an EXCELLENT port of Doom Il! I really appreciate thislast update, especially brining back the classic title screen! Now, this update made thecontrols and map FUNCTIONALLY WAY better than before, and the gameplay is all thebetter for it and much appreciated, BUT the downside is that AESTHETICALLY the controland map button icons are really bland looking. I would recommend the following:- Usingthe in game open bare fist sprite for the pickup/interact hand button control.- The LOOK(not the functionality) of the joystick in the last version for the current joystick, but keepthe functionality of the current joystick.-Maybe add some color (but still be transparentenough to see through) to the shoot bullseye button. - The map function WORKS greatbut it would LOOK better as a roll or grid map icon (in color as well).-Lastly, an option toadjust control size, location and transparency would be much appreciated.Overall, this isa fantastic port of a In undisputed gaming classic and the latest update is certainlyappreciated and most definitely a step in the right direction. Great game obviously, not going into the history of it once again, but these controls don'tdo the gameplay justice. Matter of fact, they are so sluggish and accidental that they fullon drag the experience down. For example, it's like playing electric guitar and having tohold it up at the same time because you didn't buy a strap - playing's almost impossible.These controls are like the equivalent to that. The gameplay indeed suffers as a result.If we could adjust the size and position like others have said, that just might be crazyenough to work! My fat thumbs can't press the fire button all the time so a one size fitsall approach here is NOT the way to treat such a classic.
