FratUniversity is a story-driven casual game where players begin a new university life, joining a fraternity and experiencing its culture, friendships, and competition. Your choices will unlock different story branches and endings. Players will encounter diverse characters and become involved in various events, freely deciding whether to participate in parties and competitions. Interacting with different characters will earn their favor and unlock corresponding intimate scenes. The game is currently under continuous updates, with more storylines, characters, and intimate animations to be released – stay tuned!

Multi outcome system: The outcome depends on the choice, including becoming the king of the brotherhood, achieving independence, or ending tragically.

Developer Notes of FratUniversity:

First of all, sorry for the long silence. It’s been a while since the last update. A big part of that was me getting stuck in my own head a bit. Second-guessing decisions, juggling too many systems at once, and trying to move the project forward without feeling confident enough to talk about it publicly as some upgrades are not as visible to the outside but improve the underlying systems for future development.

That said, I’m really happy to finally share new content Starts in the Gold Tier but will make its way to Itch for free. (Windows only, read further for infos on other platforms) 

This year I started the transition toward a full 3D version of the games. While that’s still very much the long-term vision, the biggest ongoing issue has been accessibility. The 3D build isn’t available on Mac, mobile, or lower-end PCs yet, and performance is still something I’m actively improving.

Because of that, I’ve spent the last two months reworking the 3D game’s structure so it can be automatically converted into a 2D Ren’Py version. The goal here is flexibility: keeping development focused on one core game while still supporting Ren’Py releases alongside it.

The first of these Ren’Py ports is coming soon and is about 90% automated already. It will however have less options such as clothing than the first 2D tech demo and a lot less than the 3D game with the visual quality also taking some hits for the near future as automation gets improved. I want to keep these ports coming regularly, even as I continue pushing toward a more optimized 3D version that can eventually support Mac and mobile properly.

This update is very much a foundation update. A bit tech-demo-ish still but it introduces some important new systems and characters.

First Impression mechanic: When you meet new characters, you’ll get explicit options that shape how they come across and how the story responds to you. This is meant to give you more control over tone and direction from the very first interaction.

Character Traits: Choose your character traits to impact your responses and set you on your individual character arc.

Sexuality: Define your characters sexuality at the start, which may stay like it is or set you on a coming out arc in he future.

New intro sequence: Set before the original roommate scenes. You’ll meet Wes and Jesse, who act as your introduction to FratUniversity and help establish the themes and mechanics early on.The campus itself has been fleshed out asset-wise, but there are still limitations. For now you’ll be teleported to your room, with barriers keeping you inside the only fully decorated space. You can bypass those barriers, but there isn’t much to explore yet and you may even soft-lock the game if you wander too far.Huge upgrade to the way I handle buildings and rooms, so in the future you’ll get to explore rooms and meet people all over campus.

The original roommate scenes have not yet been updated to the new mechanics. That’s because the story structure will slightly change. You will meet characters first, then explore campus, and only later return to your room and go to bed after the first day. Since that middle section isn’t finished yet, the roommate scenes remain in their old form for now.This update doesn’t push the story very far yet. It’s more about laying down the rails properly.n top of the bigger structural changes, there are also minor updates to hair options in the character creator and some performance improvements to the campus map.

Nothing flashy, but all part of tightening things up.

Going forward, I want to slow down in a good way. Focusing on one issue at a time instead of trying to build every system simultaneously. Spreading myself too thin has definitely hurt progress, and tightening that scope already feels healthier for the project.

I’m really looking forward to continuing the story next year, building on these new mechanics properly, and keeping both the 3D version and Ren’Py ports moving forward together. Also ties in with Arena of Thebes which will use the same mechanics but have a soft reboot to accommodate all these new systems.
