Introduction

ARK Survival Evolved is a popular open-world adventure game where players are stranded on a mysterious island ark. They will either battle or cooperate with hundreds of other players to gather resources, craft various items and traps to hunt dinosaurs. As the game progresses, players can tame dinosaurs to fight for them, leading their herd to become the island's dominant species. The game also supports a defense mechanism, allowing players to pair tamed animals to produce even more ferocious dinosaurs. While taming dinosaurs, players also need to develop their civilization, crafting various components, cultivating crops, and raising livestock to ultimately conquer the ark completely. The game also features a workshop system, allowing players to create various mods using the editor and share them in the community to earn likes from other players.

Gameplay of ARK Survival Evolved:

There are currently 194 creatures that populate the world of Ark. In the early versions of the game, nearly all creatures were real dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, but as the storyline progressed, mythical creatures such as the wyvern, griffin, golem, and phoenix were added. As expansions were released, completely original creatures, such as the Karkinos and the Velonasaur, also made their way into the game, as well as original robotic creatures such as the Enforcer and Scout.

One of the primary game mechanics of the game is taming creatures. The majority of creatures can be tamed by the player, though some such as Meganeura, Trilobites or Titanomyrma cannot. The taming method varies from creature to creature. Most creatures are a "knock out" tame, meaning the players must knock the creature out using tranquilizers or by using blunt weapons, such as a club. Oftentimes players will need to keep the dinosaur sedated for the duration of the tame. Some dinosaurs take longer than others to tame, therefore require more narcotics. Once knocked out, the player must feed the creature their preferred food, such as berries for herbivores or meat for carnivores. Some creatures, such as Moschops, can also be tamed passively by approaching them and giving them food. Certain other creatures, such as the Carcharodontosaurus, Oasisaur and Megaraptor must be tamed via mini-games that do not involve sedation or passive feeding.Once a creature is tamed, it will follow the commands of the player who tamed them. Many creatures can be used as a means of transportation and therefore allow the player to traverse the map easily.[3] When riding atop certain creatures, players may still be able to use weapons. They can also be used to carry items, and players can issue a wide range of offensive and defensive commands to them.[3] Some of the larger creatures, such as a Brontosaurus or Mosasaurus, can have a building platform placed on their back, giving players a small mobile base: 36:27  The game also features various other non-dinosaur animals, such as the dodo, saber-toothed tiger, woolly mammoth, Meganeura, ichthyosaur and Doedicurus.Every creature in the game lives in its own ecosystems within defined predator hierarchies. Many fictional creatures also exist on the map, including Griffins, Wyverns and Unicorns.

Features of ARK Survival Evolved:

Tame and ride more than 80 creatures: ARK Survival Evolved lets you tame a wide range of dinosaurs and primeval animals. You can ride many of them across land, through water, and into the sky to reach resources and new areas. In addition, tames can carry items and defend your camp.

Deep survival, crafting, and building: You gather, hunt, and craft practical gear from early tools to better weapons. Base building scales from a small hut to a fortified stronghold as your skills improve. Also, workbenches and storage help you manage resources and plan your next steps in ARK Survival Evolved.

Massive open world with varied biomes: The island includes beaches, forests, mountains, caves, and ocean zones that play differently. Your exploration in ARK Survival Evolved leads to new materials and risks, so preparation matters. Moreover, the world supports travel on foot, by mount, and by water to connect your bases.

Solo play or online multiplayer with Tribes: In ARK Survival Evolved, you can progress alone at your own pace or join shared servers. Tribe systems make it easier to build together by sharing resources, experience, and spawn points. Therefore, groups can coordinate tasks like taming, farming, and defense.

Breed, command, and organize your tames: Creatures can be bred for traits and assigned roles such as hauling or guarding. You can issue commands to follow, attack, or stay to control encounters. In addition, organized stables and pens keep your base efficient and secure.

Useful Tips of ARK Survival Evolved:

For Single player, A beach is a good area to start building a base. This allows you to constantly have a source of water for drinking and cooling down, and depending on where you are, fish to eat. Resources may be scarce, but so are predators. The few predators that are present can easily be seen from a good distance.

You will probably find yourself spending engram points on a wide variety of things. You can save some points by ignoring multiplayer-centric engrams such as  Blood Extraction Syringe, sloped roofs, and the various Signs and Billboards.

Every time you go to load your single-player game, there will be a bunch of sliders for server options. If things are going poorly or you want more of a challenge, you can adjust these to your benefit/detriment. Keep in mind that Player Resistance and Structure Resistance work inversely, meaning that setting player resistance to 2 will make you take twice as much damage, not half.

Be strategic when it comes to choosing the location of your main base. Keep in mind that you should have all the resources not far from there, especially if you want to spend as little time as possible traveling.

It is always a good idea to have 2 or 3 strong dinos around your base to protect the weaker ones.

Always try to leave your dinos in a relatively safe place when you travel or you enter a cave, especially if you count on them for a quick escape. Remember that your biggest threat is wild dinos.

Flying low in circles before landing it is the smart thing to do, especially on swamps and biomes where danger exists everywhere.

Always carry water, food, and sources of heat in your Dino. None of them weigh much and can save you a trip back before expected.

Its never a bad idea to have several single square metal or stone shelters around the map as they can provide a quick safe zone.

When taming a high-level dino (considering the process will take for long or it's a hard Dino for solo taming such as a Quetzal) don't hesitate on building fence foundations around it and placing stone walls on them. This will make the taming process a safe and easy timing thing.

The base building dino team consist on a  Castoroides for wood, an  Ankylosaurus for Metal and a  Doedicurus for stone. They are a must-have for every lone survivor not only for making big bases, but also they gather the essential items for crafting everything. Also, they are good fighter in terms of base defense. A Rex can also be a good source of base defense. They are somewhat easy to tame if you have  Tranquilizer Arrows (Level 21). For people that are taming a Rex for the first time, shooting it in the head does the same damage as the body. Rex has no multipliers for the head, so it will take about 10-100 (depending on the level) Tranquilizer Arrows anywhere to knock it out.

Player Comments of ARK Survival Evolved:

What I Played: I've sunk almost 183 hours into this game across official servers, unofficial servers, and some single-player when I needed a break from humanity. Started out genuinely excited — punching trees, taming my first dodo, getting absolutely bodied by raptors. But somewhere around hour 80, the magic started wearing thin. The gameplay loop became tame dino, breed dino, lose dino, repeat. Joined a few different tribes on official servers and honestly spent more time babysitting taming timers and feeding troughs than actually having fun. The sense of wonder fades and what's left is a second job with dinosaurs. The dinosaur taming system is genuinely cool. First time you knock out a Rex and spend an hour nervously watching its torpor bar, you feel something. The variety of creatures and their uses gives you real goals to work toward.Co-op with friends is where this game shines. Building a base together, coordinating tames, running caves — when the stars align and everyone's online, it's a great time.Mod support through Steam Workshop is solid. Some of the best QoL improvements and maps come from the community, not the devs.

This is my favorite game but this doesn't mean it is perfect i am going to give you some issues with the game if these types of issues are not a problem for you i think you should give it a shot.1 this game takes time to understand if you just started playing you might not understand the goal of the game.2 the game needs a good chunk of your time either to farm tame or anything else.3 this game is dead at the moment there are no official servers to play on and the devs already switched to a new version of the game this does not mean it is better than the older one.4 this game needs friends to play with but if you are okay with playing solo its fine but for me the charm of the game is really the time you spend playing with friends.5 this game is not quite demanding for it's graphics.if these problems don't make a difference for you then i would give it a shot.

I've been playing this game for a hot minute now and I have very few complaints overall. If you love dinosaurs and have always wanted the opportunity to tame and ride one then this is for sure the game for you. The only thing that throws me out of it a little bit is the fact that there's a pretty decent technology jump once you get to a certain point which isn't necessarily a bad thing; I just tend to prefer low tech survival games. They do manage to resolve this by adding Primitive + which I highly recommend getting if you want to limit and challenge yourself in other ways.

Summary:

ARK Survival Evolved takes players to a fairly ancient setting where dinosaurs still exist, and you will discover a series of species you have never seen before. This is also the reason why this game has become attractive to many people. They want to see many dinosaurs moving on the ground and even flying in the sky. From there, they will realize that they can see some species at close range, and the majority will be herbivores. Similar to other species, you also have to forage and build your own life by collecting more and more different resources.
