Asphalt 5 is a popular racing game with a wide variety of unique tracks and vehicles for players to choose from. Race against other players in different game modes such as Career, Quick Race, and Multiplayer, showcasing your driving skills and experience to win races and earn generous rewards to unlock more high-performance vehicles. The game features meticulously tuned handling for different vehicles and offers various control methods for a smoother gaming experience. What are you waiting for? Come and experience the thrill of racing!
There are 12 different tracks based on real life cities. There is a quick play option but I plowed straight into career mode. You have 4 race events per location and winning these unlock new events at new locations. The race events include;
Race- Finish in top 3
Vs - Race against a single opponent
Cop Chase - You play a cop and have to take out a set number of opponents by crashing into them
Drift - Score points for drifting
Time Attack - Finish under a set time
Escape - Complete 3 laps without getting arrested 5 times
Last Man Standing - An elimination style race
Cash Attack - Finish with a certain amount of money
So you can see there's plenty of variety in game modes. All are enjoyable but I found the Cop Chase mode to be quite difficult. The difficulty for the other events was fairly easy as long as you are racing in a decent vehicle.

Asphalt 5 featured 12 incredible tracks from around the world. Traveling the globe, each course offered a unique look and style that made every race feel exciting.
These prestigious locations looked better than ever in Asphalt 5’s game engine which allowed for improved visuals and artistic flourishes. Moving between glorious exotic locations like Hawaii, Aspen, and Saint Tropez gave players a taste of extravagance. This was set alongside more urban environments, including New York, Rio de Janeiro, and Paris. Here the high-speed racing acted as wish fulfillment, with players speeding down iconic roads.
These cities were joined by Tuscany, Athens, Rome, Las Vegas, Miami, and San Francisco – all of which bought their own twists (and turns) to the experience. The Android version – which released six months later – featured even more, with Tokyo, Cape Town, Berlin, Los Angeles, and Madrid being added to the world tour.
To add to the variety provided by these cities, more diversity was added by Asphalt 5’s advanced track design. One of these advanced elements was track surface. Moving between snow, ice, dirt, water, and tarmac saw a vehicle’s traction change. Thus, racers were forced to adjust to conditions on the fly as they drifted between areas.
Shifting weather further highlighted these surface changes. Snowfall, rain, fog, and a variety of other conditions could alter different areas of the track, and impair visibility making it harder to prepare. This increased the dynamism creating constantly evolving races, so you never knew what would happen from one lap to the next.

In the event that you struggle with a stage remember that you can buy the latest car/bike with best performance that you've unlocked, you do that by pressing "Garage" in the career menu. You can also upgrade any vehicle that you have bought by pressing "Tuning" remember that there are engine, handling and boost upgrades on the right hands side of the "Tuning" screen. Upgrading as much as possible will significantly improve the performance of your vehicle and help you with some races.
Upgrades are more valuable, the opponents will always have cars/bikes of about the same level as you, so if you wish to play through the game with the first car that is possible, although you will have to get a car with higher performance in order to get a few achievements and you will spend less time in each race, faster vehicle = faster win. So its your choice.
The other piece of advice I can give you is regarding the controls, if you struggle to control your vehicle go to "Help and Options" in the main menu or if you pause in the middle of a race, then "Options" and there you will be able to choose how you want to control your vehicle: Screen tap, steering wheel, and accelerometer(Tilt), you can adjust the sensitivity for the steering wheel and accelerometer.
I prefer "Screen Tap" but I encourage you to try every option by yourself until you find the one that fits you best.
While participating in a race keep in mind to use your boost as much as you need to and collect boost power-ups, boost significantly increases your speed for a short time. You can also take short cuts to catch up to your enemies, keep in mind that the NPC's will never take shortcuts so it is an advantage to you!
Throughout the game you will unlock "Girls", they work as powerups. I personally recommend you using Kate (first girl you unlock) she will give you a income boost for each race you finish by 15% use her all the time until you unlock Liz (at level 30) she also gives a money boost but it is 23% instead of 15%, and to add to that you also get 23% more speed.
If you get stuck on a level (and you Haven't unlocked Liz yet) you can change to either Carla or Yumiko, they give you either 20% boost in a race or 23% more speed. That should help you go little faster in case you need that.
Asphalt 5 is a proud arcade race game through and through. Its gameplay lets you enjoy the rush of speed racing through the streets of known cities around the world like Paris, Tokyo, and Rio de Janeiro. The game’s controls are also very responsive and accurate. With its improved graphics and smooth gameplay, it is not at all surprising why Asphalt 5’s popularity is rising.
