Mini Metro

Mini Metro
Introduction

Mini Metro is a minimalist simulation game where players design an efficient subway network for a rapidly growing city to cope with ever-increasing passenger flow. With limited resources, players must plan routes, allocate trains, and expand tunnels to ensure passengers arrive at their destinations on time. As the city expands weekly, new stations will appear randomly. Passenger demand is constantly changing. If passengers are stuck at a station for too long, the game ends, severely testing your adaptability and strategic planning skills. The game features multiple modes, including Normal, Endless, Extreme, and Creative, enhancing its replayability and challenge.

How to play:

Start with any city and connect stations to move passengers efficiently. You build up your network step by step, responding as new stations appear and demand increases. To begin, download Mini Metro and follow the process below.

Open Mini Metro, choose a city map, and review its initial station layout.

Draw lines between stations with your finger so passengers can travel to matching shapes.

Place trains on those lines, then add carriages or tunnels when upgrades become available.

Watch passenger flow and adjust lines to reduce overcrowding, moving trains where pressure is highest.

When you want a different pace, switch to Normal, Endless, Extreme, or Creative and continue building.

Function:

The game is both tense and relaxing, complex and simple. How is that possible? Play it for yourself and see!

Three game modes: Normal mode for quick scores, Endless mode with no limits, and Extreme mode to challenge yourself.

Build your own subway network in the all-new Creative Mode.

Nearly thirty real-world cities! Design subways for London, Paris, New York, Osaka, St. Petersburg, São Paulo, Istanbul, Auckland, and many more! Each city has a unique color theme, operational obstacles, and game speed.

City development is randomized. Every game is different. Strategies that worked in one game may not be effective in the next.

Every map is a masterpiece; you can reach the level of Harry Baker, the father of the London Underground. You can customize your subway plans as you like and even set your creations as your computer wallpaper!

An automated soundtrack program, personally crafted by Disasterpeace (Fez's composer!), lets the music endlessly change with the network.

Night mode and colorblind mode are available.

And awesome trains too! There are also many player-created maps waiting for you to explore in the Steam Workshop!

Player Reviews:

It's quite a test of intelligence. Every time a new station appears, I have to pause and think for a long time about how to draw subway lines that don't continuously pass through similar stations. However, in some places, the number of people inexplicably surges. It's too difficult; I can't play anymore. Seeing so many people suddenly increase, even with routes kept as short as possible, I only lasted about 60 days... Also, why does it only allow passengers of one type to board first, and then allow passengers of another type to board only when there's still space? In other words, it's based on the number of people of each type boarding in batches, not on the proportion of people of each type at each station... So, in some places, it's easy for many people of the same type to be left behind.

This is a very good game. The overall graphics are simple and beautiful, and the touchscreen feels good. The main drawbacks are as follows: 1. There is no save system; if you fail, you have to start over, and exiting the game also requires restarting. 2. It's easy to make accidental inputs, especially when there are many subway lines. 3. It's difficult to make fine adjustments to the lines; you can delete an entire line but not just cut a small section.

It's very fun, but the controls are quite demanding; it's easy to draw the wrong lines sometimes (similar to pattern unlock on mobile phones). Therefore, I suggest adding a "back" button or something similar to make it easier for players and improve the overall gaming experience.
