Tasty Planet

Tasty Planet
Introduction

People often find it hard to resist two game states—becoming tiny or becoming huge! And this is a game where you can continuously grow your character. In Tasty Planet, you play as a slime monster, something originally used for cleaning bathrooms, which accidentally grows to be able to devour everything! However, while you can grow huge, you still have to start small, constantly devouring things smaller than you—leaves, trees, fish, people, rocks—all are your food. Each devouring makes you easily grow larger until you devour everything!

Gameplay

The game is divided into different levels based on the size of your slime; once you reach a certain size, you can advance to the next development stage. Therefore, as you grow, you will transform from a humble dust-devourer into a colossal planet destroyer. The game occasionally introduces unexpected challenges to increase the difficulty. For example, you might encounter hostile objects that can devour you if you are smaller than them. Sometimes, you will also encounter enemies—such as police and tanks—that fire projectiles that shrink your size. Dealing with these enemies requires skill and adds more variety to the game.

Features

Confidently devour everything.

In Tasty Planet, you play as the Slime, a creature with the ability to devour anything. The gameplay is similar to most fish-eat-fish games, but this one offers a more unique and exciting way to consume. At the start, you're just a small blob of cleaning slime, needing to inhale fine dust and bacteria to grow. As you grow, you can devour mice, toy fragments, coins… anything smaller than you can be easily swallowed.

The larger you are, the larger the objects you can find. If you're hit by a bullet or collide with a larger object, you'll shrink instantly. Therefore, the game requires agility to dodge things you can't immediately devour. Only by completing the final objective can you end your devouring journey. Believe in your abilities; with your amazing growth rate, you can devour anything.

Eat in different places.

To satisfy your hunger, the slime constantly travels to various places in search of food. From the laboratory to bustling streets, even gardens become ideal locations for catching wandering creatures. If land prey isn't enough, dive into the deep sea and devour the swimming fish. You can even venture into the vast universe and devour planets in the solar system. Anywhere life exists becomes your delicious prey.

In the world of Tasty Planet, objects larger than Gray will interact with him in various ways. Rocks or similar objects will only block Gray's path and won't cause any damage. Things like leaves and clouds can even be passed through by Gray. Tasty Planet also has enemies that can harm Gray. Some carnivorous creatures, spiky objects, human combat vehicles, etc., will injure or shrink Gray if he comes into contact with them or is hit by their bullets. This will directly increase the time it takes to complete the level.

The above only applies to objects larger than Gray. For smaller objects, there is only one reaction—being swallowed by Gray.

Experience different game modes in Tasty Planet.

In Casual Mode, you simply need to achieve specific objectives to complete the level. Each level will take you to a brand new location and encounter unique creatures. To add even more fun, Tasty Planet offers several additional game modes for a wider range of exciting content. Among them, you can try the timed mode or endurance mode to improve your skills. Additionally, the game includes a two-player mode for playing with friends.

Level Completion Achievements

To increase the challenge of Tasty Planet, the developers have incorporated an achievement system into all levels. Each level offers four achievements: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and No Achievement. The faster you complete a level, the higher the achievement level. Therefore, while Tasty Planet itself isn't difficult to complete, obtaining all the achievements is quite challenging.

Small Object Detection Feature

Because the objects and creatures in Tasty Planet vary greatly in shape, it's difficult to distinguish those smaller than the gray slime, especially those with tentacles or hair. The game provides a crosshair that only displays objects that are close to you and smaller than you. This is a great feature that helps you plan your moves more easily and avoid collisions with inedible objects.

Side Features

In the Tasty Planet interface, the current size of the Gray Slime is displayed above the satiety status bar. The bottom right corner of the screen shows the name of the food the Gray Slime has just eaten. While these two features don't directly affect the gameplay itself, they do add some fun.

Early in each ecosystem, Tasty Planet offers short stories for relaxation. These stories recount various events in the Tasty Planet world and the Gray Slime's journey. Tasty Planet's narrative style is very humorous, so you should read these stories to experience the game's humorous elements.

Graphics and Music

Tasty Planet uses a 2D art style with a 90-degree top-down perspective. The game adopts a minimalist design philosophy, with all elements drawn in a minimalist style. However, minimalism doesn't mean crudeness. Objects and environments in Tasty Planet still possess sufficient detail, presenting a relatively vivid visual experience.

The sound effects in Tasty Planet are only average, nothing particularly outstanding. In some levels where humans appear, the screams made by the Gray Slime after devouring humans are a bit annoying. Music is a major highlight of Tasty Planet. The background music features simple arrangements, a cute yet slightly humorous style, further enhancing the game's absurdity. The melodies are also very pleasant to listen to, perfectly matching Tasty Planet's intended goals.
