Gameplay of Digimon Masters Online:

Players control an avatar of one of the four main Tamers of Digimon Data Squad: Marcus Damon, Thomas H. Norstein, Yoshino Fujieda, and Keenan Crier. The avatar is not meant to represent the actual Tamer, and thus players can choose their own name and modify the appearance of the Avatar. After selecting a Tamer, players are then able to select a Partner Digimon. The Partner Digimon will be used in battle to accomplish NPCgiven missions. The player may also hatch new Mercenary Digimon from DigiEggs dropped by enemy Digimon. Over the course of the game, Partner and Mercenary Digimon will Digivolve into stronger forms (some of which may require special items or quests to unlock) and learn new skills.

Mercenary System: This system allows the player to get Digimon, which is not Partner Digimon. The player must hatch the Mercenary Digiegg using an incubator and the right type of DATA (chips) items. Mercenary Digieggs and data items can be acquired through gameplay (after defeating enemy Digimon) or purchased in the cash shop. After injecting DATA three times successfully, the player can hatch the Mercenary Digimon, each time representing one stage of development. The player may inject additional DATA until the fourth or fifth stage. The higher the stage, the bigger the Digimon. However, the Mercenary Digiegg may break after one or several attempts past the third stage. The alternate way to hatch a Mercenary Digiegg is to buy it from the cash shop. The Mercenary Digiegg bought from the cash shop has a 100% success rate for at least 3 bars.

Battle System: Battling is done in realtime. The player's Digimon has a health bar measuring health and a Digisoul meter. The Digisoul meter measures the energy of Digimon to use special attacks, and when empty, the Digimon can only use standard attacks. While in combat, Tamers can use items that restore health and Digisoul but must wait several seconds before being able to do so again.Unlike Digimon, Battle combat takes place in realtime, with nearby players watching and even joining in on battles.

Digivolution: In the series, all Digimon possess a "digivolution tree", which consists of a hierarchy of possible evolutions. As they level up, users can complete quests in order to trigger digivolution. Upon reaching the digivolution limit or completing certain quests, the digivolution tree becomes automatically available. Users can advance the development of their Digimon by utilizing a Tamer's DNA Charge.The game features 10 of the 11 available crests and DigiEggs (Armor type). Each crest corresponds to a particular DigiEgg, and the crests are utilized to open the digivolution tree. After combining certain elements, an entity of its digivolution tree is available. Each DigiEgg has a distinct quantity of DNA, and digivolving consumes a certain amount of DNA. Consequently, digivolving to a higher level necessitates a greater amount of DNA.

Talking about the gameplay it just sucked to learn about the game by myself so I've decided to join a guild some weeks ago and the game turned a LOT easier and playable, so, to make a good progress you will need to stay on a guild, be constant and to have a lot of patiente (or cash, I'm assuming you are not willing to put a dollar on the game), if you need a real progress guide this is the first thing you have to do, because it will be better if you can get an answer inside of the game on the exact time you need to solve the problem coming from a group that won't let you to waste your time and possibly help you on that. Aside that, I do not recommend to use random internet guides because there are confusing information, some discontinued, and it will be frustrating to don't find it. You can see some youtubers guide videos like "MoNeRoO" that shows you a real gampley, or real loot box opening, instead of reading percentages on a sheet. Another option to find a guild is using the megaphone (item that allows you to write a message that will appear for everyone on the chatbox) and write something like "Tamer buscando guild latina" and the invitations will rain like in seconds, you will need to use just one. Now talking about the "guide" thing, well can be a little overwhelming here in DMO because some instances of progress depends on parameters of "certain" digimons, while other progress can be accesible from parameters of "every" digimon or tamer. Most main quests are to defeat other digimons, obtain drops or use items on them, but if (for example) you plan to do or to play with Omegamon Zwart those main quests because you love Omegamon Zwart then you first will need to unlock the evolution by doing BlackAgumon and BlackGabumon quests, so, in this case it depends on having two digimons at certain levels (+70), having your tamer at a certain level too (+70) and I don't remember if theres another need, so, you won't be able to play the black tall cool thin guy until you do both quests. As for the progress on main quests, you can start doing File Island or you can start doing Western Area, both are low level and totally worth in terms of earlygame at gaining/spending little megas, and a good suggestion that not lot of people tells you is to don't instantly open or use the quests rewards not knowing if you will be able to obtain that item again. You will not know when you will need items specially if you haven't decided your gameplay style, also you will not farm teras until you reach midgame by using the traditional selling/reselling/buying shop system. Lategame comes a waaaay tooooo later, when you need to do a lot of things to only get a little progress, at this specific stage you will be able to differ or move trough certain places to get your desired drops. It is not the same to play all the game with Omegamon Zwart or to play with Sakuyamon. About some dungeons and enemies on this game: they can not be killed with random digimons and to fight with the disadventage is a strong presence at later levels so, most people will tell you to get at least one Data, Vaccine and Virus digimon and second Unknown and No attribute, but be careful with this, because you have a very limited space to carry digimons, try to first focus on one attribute, in my case, Siriusmon is SS+ rank, Vaccine attribute and Light elemental attribute, if I try to farm Devimon (Virus/PitchBlack) will be easier than GigaSeadramon (Data/Steel).

Though the game does have its shortfalls, like a lackluster tutorial zone and some infuriating boss mechanics, Digimon Masters Online is undoubtedly a real stroke of genius. The game plays around with conventions and tropes normally associated with RPGs and subverts them in clever ways, all while telling a deeply personal story that everyone can relate to at some point in their lives.
