Yandere School is a first-person simulation game where players follow Akari Furutaka's perspective as she gradually eliminates her rivals and wins the heart of her beloved. Whether her crush discovers her actions and whether she can confess her feelings ultimately depends on the player's choices. Each of her rivals has a unique personality, and players must exploit their weaknesses, such as being mean or having peculiar quirks, by setting traps or stealthily attacking them from behind to eliminate them. Besides eliminating rivals, players can also freely explore the campus, wandering through various scenes and triggering different story events and quests, adding to the game's enjoyment.
Targets will be marked with either a Skull or Heart symbol. You know what to do in either case.
Weapons will have symbol versions of themselves showing you were they are hidden. Some items will have different spawn locations based on different levels.

Chapter 1: In the 2D cutscene, it is stated that Meisa Ito broke up with her 35-year-old boyfriend for wanting too much. Her best friend, Eriko Sakura, suggests dating Makio Sono. Akari states, "I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN!". And then the gameplay starts.
Chapter 2: There is a newcomer from Eastern Europe named Angelina Ivanova. She tells Makio Sono that he is handsome and she wants to take a closer look. She invites him for tea after school. Like Meisa, you kill her, but with the prompt of her following you as she expects you to show her different places of the school. Making it easier to eliminate her.
Chapter 3: Two students, Ryoichi Taniguchi and Keita Hiyama, are preventing you from seeing Makio by playing baseball with him. You have to eliminate them both, which is harder because they're around Makio most of the day.
Chapter 4: Akari comes to school to find Makio's arranged fiance transferring to her school. Like any other rival, You must kill her.
Chapter 5: During Chapter 5, it is Physical Measurement Day. In the opening cutscene we can see all of the students patiently waiting for their turn with the nurse. Akari stalks Makio while his Measurement is In session, Akari witnesses The school nurse, Victoria, flirting with Makio and asking him to meet for an "extended examination". If Akari has successfully eliminated her, then she will confess her love to Makio and the game will have an Happy Ending.
First of all, this 3D stealth action game by Tea & Cake Games is a violent game featuring multiple killings and concealing evidence of the murder of several seemingly normal schoolgirls, schoolboys and a school nurse. Also, there are several discussion posts and reviews which mention this game seems to have multiple similarities to another game that is not fully released yet. For those who don't mind any of these, read on.
This game features a very shy, jealous and possessive schoolgirl Akari Furutaka who is in love with a schoolboy Makio Sono. Makio attends the same school as Akari at a neighbouring class and is a member of the school's computer club. Each day, Akari will feel threatened when she sees or hears a potential rival compete with Akari for Makio's time or affection for Akari. Akari will make the decision to watch, follow, murder and bury the rival at the school garden without getting caught by any person. While in her sleep at the end of each day, Akari will also experience a different nightmare scene where the person in her dreams has to kill or interact with a specific person to enable Akari to wake up from her nightmare and begin the next day.
The game features cutscenes with anime and visual novel elements at the beginning and end of each chapter with decent artwork, voice acting and a dynamic environment where all the characters will have a name, school routines and additional agendas where they might be at different places and say different things with various people during different chapters. The game also has icons above each possible murder weapon and person to help guide players in completing each chapter and multiple different optional quiz tests on mathematics, physics and history which can be used to purchase and unlock 3 additional hairstyles, 2 hair accessories, 4 outfits and 12 socks/stockings at Akari's home.
Among the cons, the game has multiple bugs, one was where if Akari was spotted carrying a dead body by Makio, Akari might remain frozen in place indefinitely with no way to restart the chapter without closing game. Another was where dropping the dead body that is outside the allowed area to bury the dead body might potentially result in the body being half-buried and then later popping out of the grave for no reason to require redigging, moving and reburying the body to progress further with the game. Killing a person on a staircase might also result in the body catapulting large distances across the stairs. Also, although this game was in 3rd person perspective and I was able to finish this game in less than 2 hours and get all achievements, I still encountered motion sickness.
Recommended when at discount or bundle offer for those looking for a short 3D stealth-based action game with simple gameplay mechanics, fan service, achievements that are easy to get in less than 10 hours, optional trivia questions, a dynamic environment with decent voice acting, anime cutscenes and don't mind any of the controversial content, bugs or likelihood of inducing motion sickness as a 3D game.
Yandere School fits players who enjoy anime-themed sandbox games, stealth missions, and unusual storylines. Fans of simulation games with freedom to interact inside a school environment will likely find it entertaining.
