Dan the Man is a beloved arcade fighting game where players follow in Dan's footsteps, battling powerful bosses and top players from around the world. Gameplay of Dan the Man:

Dan the Man is a 2D platformer beat-'em up game, where the players have to complete sets of levels in worlds. The player must traverse worlds with themes such as a grassy village, the sewers, but primarily of a kingdom. The player is shown a world map which lets them access levels and bonus levels. Normal levels have the player complete a series of platforming and combat challenges, where the game is interrupted by fight sequences in certain areas where the player is forced to defeat groups of enemies to continue. There are some secrets within levels which reward the player for finding them. There are shops scattered around levels where the player can purchase items to help them at any time using coins (the in-game currency).

Normal levels contain a boss fight if they are the last level of the world.Bonus levels have the player fight groups of enemies with little platforming inside of an arena, where the player goes on to the next round of enemies. These levels usually have 3 rounds of enemy battles, where the player has intermissions in between in all of them to buy items and power-ups to aid in battle. If the player is defeated or runs out of time (which they can get from defeating enemies and destroying objects), they lose. If the player is defeated for the first time in any normal level, they can watch an advertisement to get a Revival Potion, which revives the player from the exact place they were defeated (the player won't have to watch an advertisement if they pay a micro transaction).

When completing the Main Story for the first time, the player unlocks Hard Mode, where enemies are much stronger, faster and have more health; the player also doesn't have their Revival Potion.

The player can find ranged weapons in levels, which can be upgraded to increase their damage and effectiveness in the character menu. As of version 1.1.6, weapons last only until the end of the level and no longer carry over to the next level.

When the player completes a level after the first world, the player has to wait for a certain number of time (examples include 6 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours) before being able to play the next level (this can be bypassed with micro transactions or by watching an advertisement). Bonus levels are unlocked after beating certain levels and require no wait time to access.

There are two DLC worlds the player can buy, which are Frosty Plains and Fright Zone. Both come with more levels with more enemies and art.

Campaign Mode requires persistent combat, players constantly confront monsters and a giant boss. Multiplayer Mode allows more than one player to participate. Finally, there is Endless Survival, where all players are put into a leaderboard and compete for the top spot.

Change character appearance: The reward for the winning player is gold coins, the faster you win, the bigger the reward you get. Use gold coins in the game’s shop item. Players freely change the character’s appearance from skin color, hair style to facial expressions. Don’t forget to dress yourself up in stylish clothes. More importantly, it’s the weapon. To fight with increasingly crowded and stronger monsters, you need to upgrade weapons and use enhancement items for the character.

Join the game with friends: In Dan the Man players can choose to play solo or invite their friends to join. Play with friends mode allows players to join a challenge together, fight together and can get more rewards by killing large numbers of monsters. Share interesting moments with friends. Become the strongest couple that no enemy can stop you. Together clean up the road of fury, where a series of villains appear, who always bully civilians.

Useful Tips of Dan the Man:

Be Careful When Faced With Ranged Enemies: Ranged foes can be pretty lethal, but with one simple tactic, every single one of them will be much easier to beat. Just look at their animations; when they look like they will fire, just start beating them. They won’t be able to fire their guns while you give them one hit after another. Also, special weapons that can be found (or bought) can easily kill ranged enemies. Just ignore them until they are ready to fire, and then attack them with combo hits. They’ll be gone in a matter of seconds.

Look Out For Hidden Areas: As with most platformers, hidden areas contain lots of coins, but are pretty tricky to reach. In most cases, they can be grasped via a hidden platform that’ll appear after you jump near it. It’s usually hidden near the unreachable platform that leads to a hidden area. Just jump near it (no matter if water or lava is under it) and the hidden platform will appear. Use the platform to reach hidden areas and collect hundreds of coins.

Conserve Special Weapons For Tougher Opponents: Special weapons (throwing knives, rifles, bazooka, etc.) can be found on levels, bought from the store, or earned as a prize for watching ads (statues holding TVs can be found throughout the game). The ammo is limited so try saving it for tougher foes (flying and ranged enemies, as well as bosses and mini bosses). Note that special weapons can be carried to the next level, but if you lose a life, they will disappear.

Upgrade The Combo Move First: Combo punch is the most useful move in Dan the Man. Try upgrading it before other moves; it will make beating opponents much easier, giving you an edge against foes and making you beating levels much faster. Exceptional game. And not just for a mobile game, I'm surprised how great and rich the story is and how much fun it was. It has a proper ending, unlike the pointless never-ending or repetitive levels that other developers offer, as well as great detail and level design with very good gameplay.

Underrated Gem. I remember at the age of 6 I was on my mother's tablet scrolling through the app store. I found this new game and decided to download it. 10 years later I still love it with all my heart. It sucks to see it not getting the attention it completely deserves and its beautiful.
