Rules of Blackjack:

In Blackjack, everyone plays against the dealer. Players receive all cards face up, and the dealer’s first card is face up and the second is face down. The object of the game is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over 21. If a hand goes over 21, it is called a “bust” or “break,” and the wager is lost. In 21, Jacks, Queens, Kings, and 10s count as 10. An Ace may be played as a one or an 11. All other cards are played at face value.

When you receive your first two cards, you may either “stand” or “hit.” When you “stand,” it means you feel you are close enough to 21 and no longer wish any additional cards, indicated by waving off with your hand. If you wish to receive another card or “hit,” tap or scratch the table behind your wager with your finger.  In either situation, you will never touch the cards; everything is communicated using hand signals. You may draw as many cards as you want until you are close to 21 or until you “bust.”

If you are closer to 21 than the dealer, you win and are paid an amount equal to your original wager. If your hand is less than the dealer’s, you lose. If the dealer’s hand “busts” or “breaks,” you win as well. Ties are a standoff or “push,” and your bet remains on the table.

If your initial two cards total 21, any Ace with a 10, Jack, Queen, or King, you have a Blackjack. Blackjack is paid either 6 to 5 or 3 to 2, depending on the type of Blackjack you are playing.

Splitting Pairs: If your first two cards have the same numerical value, you may split them into two hands. The second hand’s bet must be equal to the original bet. If the split pair is Aces, you are limited to a one-card draw on each hand.

Doubling Down: You can double down in blackjack after receiving your first two cards. You may elect to wager an additional amount not to exceed the value of the original bet. With a double down, you will be dealt one additional card only.

Insurance: If the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace, you may elect to take insurance. Insurance in blackjack is a wager that the dealer has a blackjack. You may bet up to one-half of your original bet. Insurance bets pay 2 to 1 if the dealer has a blackjack, but lose in all other instances.

Surrender: Players have the option of surrendering one half of their original wager after receiving their first two cards. If you surrender your cards, the dealer will take half of your wager. (Note: The Surrender option is not available in the Double Deck game.)

Useful Tips of Blackjack:

Stand when your hand is 12-16 and the dealer has 2-6: If your hand’s total value falls between 12 and 16 (excluding pairs), and the dealer’s upcard is 2 through 6, it is generally advisable to stand. This strategy aims to take advantage of the dealer’s likelihood of busting when they have a weak upcard.

Hit when your hand is 12-16 and the dealer has 7-Ace: When facing a dealer with a strong upcard (7 through Ace), it is generally recommended to hit if your hand’s total value is between 12 and 16 (excluding pairs). This approach accounts for the higher likelihood of the dealer having a stronger hand and aims to improve your own hand to a more competitive level.

Always split Aces and 8s: When dealt a pair of Aces or a pair of 8s, it is always advantageous to split them into two separate hands. By splitting Aces, you have the opportunity to start two hands with a value of 11, significantly increasing your chances of getting a strong hand. Similarly, splitting 8s helps avoid a potential weak hand of 16, which is typically challenging to win with.

Double down on 11 versus the dealer’s 2-10: When your initial two cards add up to a value of 11, and the dealer’s upcard ranges from 2 to 10, it is generally recommended to double down. By doubling your initial bet, you receive one additional card, potentially turning a strong hand into an even stronger one. This strategy takes advantage of the favorable odds of drawing a 10-value card.

Hit or double down on Aces-6: When your hand consists of an Ace and a card ranging from 2 to 6, hitting or doubling down is advised. This flexible strategy accounts for the aces dual value as either 1 or 11, allowing for more options to improve your hand based on the card you receive next.

Manage Your Bankroll: Effective bankroll management is vital for long-term success in blackjack. Set a budget for your blackjack sessions and predetermine the amount you’re willing to risk per hand. Avoid wagering more than you can afford to lose, as it can lead to emotional decisions and potential financial strain. It’s generally recommended to bet no more than one to two percent of your total bankroll per hand to minimize risk.

Avoid Insurance Bets: Insurance bets may seem tempting, especially when the dealer’s upcard is an ace. However, statistically, these bets have a negative expected value in the long run. It’s best to avoid insurance bets altogether, as they tend to erode your bankroll over time. Focus on mastering basic strategy and making informed decisions based on the cards you and the dealer have.

Player Comments of Blackjack:

good way to play without actually using your money, like it does have a way to buy more chips but, it just gives you 100 to 500 chips if you watch some ads, so as long as you don't spend real money on this app, you will be fine.

I love this game it is amazing, It dosent take your actual money unless you personally go to the store and buy something. It is a fun easy way to pass time. I hope you try it out and like it.

It's awesome! Simple, straight forward, with multiple "casinos" to play on, daily challenges to understand Basic Strategy and simplistic but beautiful graphics! If you don't want ads, just turn off the WiFi... On a side note, it would be awesome if there was a reward system for hitting a stream on those Daily Challenges (something like if you complete the whole month or the whole week). Also, I'd like to see a training section, where you learn Basic Strategy with flashcards.

Best Black Jack App I have played thus far... And I have tried quite a few. Reasons for 5 stars? 1. Most realistic odds 2. Easy to see the print, numbers and other graphics.. important to a Senior like me who wears high power eyeglasses 3. Not a lot of required purchases 4.No extreneuous gimmicks .. just straight up "21" 5. Enjoyable & relaxing. Also, because the odds are probable and it plays "by the book" it keeps me in top shape for the "Real Deal" when I go to the Club to play!
