The Walking Dead: Season Three

The Walking Dead: Season Three is a post-apocalyptic survival game. Continuing the storyline of its predecessor, players will find themselves in a world where order is gradually being rebuilt after the apocalypse. You will play as Javier, continuing his journey to find his lost family and encountering a girl named Clementine. Together, you will experience various events, intertwining your destinies as you face challenges and difficulties. Make your choices and use the weapons at your disposal to overcome these crises. Each choice you make will lead the story in a different direction. Ultimately, will you be able to reunite with your loved ones?

Gameplay:

Similar to the previous seasons, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is a point-and-click adventure game. In contrast to previous seasons, there are two playable characters: Clementine, the heroine from the previous games; and Javier, a new character introduced this season. The player can examine and interact with various scenery elements and collect and use objects to advance the story. They can also initiate conversations with non-player characters via conversation trees. Certain replies from other characters may offer the player multiple choices to select from, including the option to stay silent, with a limited amount of time to make the selection; if the player does not select an option, the conversation will continue as if they had stayed quiet. Such choices can affect how the other characters will later react to the player character, which can influence later events in the story. Other scenes are more action-oriented, requiring the player to complete quick time events to prevent the player character or their allies from getting killed. If the player fails these events, the game will restart at the start of such scenes. Such action scenes may also require the player to make a key decision within a limited time frame, such as which of two characters to save from attacking walkers.

The player's choices and actions will impact story elements in later episodes; for example, a character that the player does not choose to be saved will not appear in later scenes. A New Frontier incorporates player choices made in previous games in the series through existing save files. The player is offered multiple options for how they can bring in previous saves into the game, including those who switched their choice of platform prior to A New Frontier. While A New Frontier was not released for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, players who have saves from Season Two on these platforms are able to download a patch on those consoles as to upload their saved game to Telltale's servers, and then access that from their new choice of platform. Telltale also provided a separate tool for players to "quick-create a tailored backstory" for Clementine to this point, with a possible 42 different variations, and create a save file from which to start the new season with. Players may also opt to use the default backstory that Telltale created as the basis for the game. Unlike the first two seasons, the third makes extensive use of a flashback narrative structure.

A New Frontier is the first Walking Dead game to utilize the upgraded game engine. Expect even better traversal, even better animations, and the iconic “Graphic Black” style art.

Learn about the outbreak and the history of the new world. Find all the clues needed in the ruins of the world and the camps of the survivors to keep your group alive.

Deal with loss, betrayal, and the redemption of family. This game full of real life grit that will make you question all of your morals.

Player Comments:

I thought A New Frontier was a very good game but also understand the frustration other players have. The ending you got in Season 2 has very little impact and are all funneled into the same story line. I got the Alone with AJ ending, which I feel fits the story progressing into A New Frontier much better than being with Kenny or Jane.The relationships between Javi and his family are well-done and caused a lot of tension for my decision-making, especially near the end. Javi and Clem's relationship is pretty forced but that seems unavoidable when trying to make an installment with a brand-new player character in a series that has so far followed Clem.It's Telltale, your decisions only matter in sense of the morality with which you approach its situations. Its worth playing nonetheless.

Personally, I think the third season is the weakest out of the four, but it's definitely not bad. It's easily the most underrated season, and I think people give it way too much hate just because Clementine isn't the main focus or the main playable character.Yes, this season has its flaws and some questionable writing choices, but I actually like the direction they took by introducing an entirely new cast, with only a handful of returning characters who aren't even that prominent throughout the game.It's a shame that Javi is never seen again after this season because I really liked his character. He had a lot of potential, and I would've loved to see him return in a future game.

This is my third game after season 1 and 2 and it was really awesomme the devlopers made the game controls , graphics all very smooth and real and they created the CLEMENTINE SOO UNREAL LIKE SHE WAS THE BADASS IN THE WHOLE FRONTIER GAME!! her starting entry was soo cool so DONT MISS THAT and in this frontier game only i experience the happy and wholefull ending and before two seasons just break my heart becaz two legends are died . i know how players felt that moment in that two season but definetly in this game u felt like a happy ending i swear games i hope this review gets u helpful thanks for reading this till end!!

Walkthrough:

Episode 1:

Javi agrees with the kids on staying the night (Makes more sense when Max finds them later on as they got careless and thought it was safe. Also, Javi and Kate always have done things their way, so it seems like Javi to be the cool uncle and give the kids what they want for once)

Javi shoots Rufus (This is supposed to be the start of it all. By shooting Rufus, Badger has a reason to kill Mariana and the New Frontier have a reason to hunt Javi down all the way to Prescott)

Javi doesn't defend Clementine after she shoots Eli (Javi just met Clementine and doesn't know a thing about her and to him right now, she's just another bad person who held him at gunpoint, stole his niece's candy bar like a bandit, and now just killed a guy in cold blood. Also, Tripp makes a strong first impression when Javi first meets him, so he's probably not gonna want to get on his bad side)

Javi goes to the junkyard at night with Eleanor (All Javi cares about right now is his family, not what Clementine or Tripp says is best, and now this kind lady has just offered to bring him there early. Of course he'd want to take that chance)

Javi leaves the junkyard with Kate, Gabe, and Eleanor (Once again, all Javi cares about right now is his family, not Clementine or the New Frontier or any other shit, and right now what he wants most is for Kate to live after she stupidly got herself shot)

Episode 2:

Javi lets it go with David (Javi before the apocalypse was a really calm and easy-going guy, not the kind of guy to lash out and tell his own brother that his wife is gonna leave him)

Javi opens fire on the New Frontier (They got the high ground advantage, who tf wouldn't do that? Also now Conrad has a valid reason to be mad at Javi)

Javi trusts Jesus (They checked him for the New Frontier brand and saw that it wasn't on him. I think they could trust the word of this calm and easy-going guy)

Javi shoots Conrad (This guy just threatened to murder his nephew not long after he lost his niece, so this is the easiest goddamn decision of Javi's life)

Javi capitulates to Max's demands (Because he's now the one that doesn't have the high ground advantage. No point in risking getting people killed by not listening to him. Plus it also gives David a reason to be pissed at Max as he made Javi put down a severely injured Kate just to put his hands behind his head for a few seconds)

Episode 3:

Javi demands justice for Mariana's murder (Any caretaker in their right mind wouldn't just keep quiet on the death of their child. This also gives us the first hint that Joan is a slimy conniving hag as she just said "we value straight talk here" but she didn't value Javi's straight talk and thought he was just making shit up)

Clementine injects AJ with the medicine (David has a reason to throw her out of the New Frontier this way and a reason to keep AJ to see if the medicine will work or not)

Javi goes ape-shit Negan style on Badger (Who wouldn't do this to the son of a bitch who killed your little girl and laughed about it later on? And any opportunity to get a Negan reference into the game is ABSOLUTELY worth selecting. Also Jesus now has a reason to leave the group as he knows what Javi did)

Max is executed (Doesn't matter whether it's Javi or David that does it. Seeing what they've seen Max say and do, they wouldn't trust him to keep his word. Also Max actually makes another appearance in episode 4 as a corpse, but somehow doesn't appear again if he's kept alive so...yea. As well as that, Clint and Lingard don't stupidly not do anything to stop Joan as Lonnie will lie to all of them and then get killed by David shortly after)

Javi tries to leave Richmond with Kate (They never wanted anything to do with the New Frontier in the first place, and if that idiot Gabe is happy with his dad, then so be it. Also David has more of a reason to shoot Lonnie as he's enraged by his brother seemingly betraying him and Lonnie betraying him after that).
