Succubus Hunt is a casual adventure game that immerses you in a fantastical world teeming with monster girls—a realm where you, as the sole human male, embark on your journey. You will encounter nearly 100 unique monster girls, each with her own distinct personality and quirks. By interacting with them, solving puzzles, and winning their favor, you can unlock various side quests and thrilling animated scenes. Of course, there is also the risk of being captured and "trained" by them, unlocking specific defeat-themed CGs.

Gameplay of Succubus Hunt:

The story follows a protagonist traveling with Willow—a large-breasted wisp—as they become embroiled in a conflict surrounding the sealing of a succubus.

There is little explanation at the start, and being an overseas title, the translation is occasionally awkward (for instance, the word "seal" is frequently mistranslated as the animal "seal"). While I can't honestly say I fully grasped every detail of the lore, it doesn't hinder one's ability to follow the general plot.

Aside from the protagonist, almost all the characters are female—or rather, "monster girls." Key figures include Astra, a self-proclaimed "Great Witch of the Moonlit Night" who appears wherever you go to cause trouble, and Umbra, a succubus who joins your journey. There is also a massive—truly massive—number of enemy monster girls.

The game plays out as a side-scrolling action title featuring pixel art. The protagonist has no means of attacking; instead, you progress by dodging enemies with jumps, running away, or crouching to hide.

Coming into contact with an enemy (monster girl) triggers an immediate forced sexual encounter. Since ejaculating drains your health, the game employs a familiar mechanic for this genre: you can either mash the controls to escape or choose not to.

Dodging enemies isn't overly difficult, and the inclusion of puzzles and environmental gimmicks gives the game a strong adventure-like feel; however, the controls—such as the snappy dash—are responsive and smooth.Additionally, equipping various "masks" found during the adventure grants the protagonist special abilities like air-dashing, double-jumping, underwater movement, and even fast travel. Skillfully switching masks to suit the situation is arguably the highlight of the game's action gameplay.

You can clear the story in just over three hours, but the sheer number of characters and the sense of a vast, interconnected world provide a level of satisfaction that exceeds the playtime.

Player Comments of Succubus Hunt:

After finishing this game, I'm feeling a bit conflicted because I'm rating it 4/5 yet it really could've been a 5/5 if it weren't for its major flaw, which leaves an after taste of disappointment despite the enjoyment I got out of it.

The animations and overall pixel-art look really good, chara design is very hot and I really appreciated the reverse-rape and SPH fixation as it's part of my kinks, there isn't enough of it without it being either too cringe or "too much", here it felt exactly right, subtle and not shoved in ones face — huge plus that made me appreciate the hentai aspect of the game more than most people probably, as those are among my main kinks and it's actually quite rare to see the both of them combined.

There's plenty of content — first time in my life I'd even argue there's "too much" content as I think certain characters aren't as memorable as others. I would've preferred more variety of scenes with the most interesting characters like Willow, Astra and Umbra, for example, even if it meant less variety of ennemies. Gosh, Veronica and Morgan were so fucking hot, I wish there was more of them.

Story was decent and enjoyable, nothing too fantastic but nothing bad either to point out except maybe that the "humour" is quite forced which quickly becomes annoying.

I liked the idea of masks, especially like in the last stage, though it's clear that there are some better ones — I'd be surprised if others would tell me they didn't just rush through stuff with the Gargoyle mask.

Gameplay is okay-ish, it's definitely not bad but it's not the most in-depth platformer I've seen either, the gameplay here serves its purpose of conveying the hentai content well and I don't ask more.

I feel like the main problem of the game resides in its lack of checkpoints, making backtracking a pain and replayability too annoying to even bother. There is a mask that allows you to teleport to different zones but you can only get teleported to the beginning of the zone, and most of them aren't that big but it's still something that shouldn't even exist in a game where its encouraged to backtrack. Not to mention that you can access hentai scenes mostly only by losing and, yes there is a gallery accessible from the menu, but I've always preferred to re-experience the scenes directly in the game as it's more organic and hot in my opinion. In this case, due to the lack of checkpoints, I wouldn't bother to do so and will just stick to gallery mode, which is a shame.

Despite this flaw, I still had a great time playing Succubus Hunt and I'd definitely recommend it if you liked similar titles in the past.

Loving his art style, I will watch what the dev produces in the future with a keen eye and I encourage everyone to do so as well!
