Personalised for you: Set your goals—want more confidence, less stress, or a better morning routine? The app guides you straight to the best books and ideas.
The visual design is cute AF: The design is bright, fun, and non-intimidating. The vibe is laid-back and inviting, not corporate textbook.

Headway is an online reading application designed to help individuals cultivate a consistent learning habit in an era dominated by digital distractions. The platform addresses the modern challenge where scientific and technological developments have led many to favor social networks and games over traditional reading. By offering a solution that utilizes technology to encourage focus, the app suggests that users spend less than half an hour each day engaging with its content. This approach is intended to train the user’s thinking and improve communication skills by providing a space where they can immerse themselves in their own world and read without interruptions from time-sensitive messages or external noise. The application is structured to guide users through various topics, aiming to provide both relaxation after stressful work periods and a sense of motivation to achieve life goals.
The content within the application is organized into a personalized catalog, allowing users to tailor their experience to their specific interests. Rather than spending significant effort searching through physical stores, users can simply type the name of a book or topic they need to find. The library covers a diverse range of subjects including business, love, health, and family. These summaries are designed to boost thinking ability and improve knowledge and reading comprehension. For those feeling depressed or pressured by life’s challenges, the application offers a series of different stories and useful advice. The goal is to provide a variety of fun and interesting topics that can create laughter and offer a sense of release through the pages of summarized books, helping users perceive the world in new ways through the messages shared by various authors.
A significant component of the application is its focus on vocabulary development. It functions as a rich digital dictionary, allowing users to look up words they do not know while they are reading. This feature is meant to increase vocabulary and support creative thinking without requiring the user to leave the app or interrupt their reading flow. By encouraging users to read multiple summaries on the same topic, the platform helps reinforce specific terminology and concepts. This integrated dictionary and look-up tool ensure that the learning process is continuous and that users can check the meaning of any word they wonder about as they progress through their personalized reading list, making the acquisition of new words a natural part of the daily self-growth challenge.
To accommodate different lifestyles and preferences, the application includes an audio version for its content. These audio summaries are voiced by professional voice actors, providing a vivid and comfortable listening experience. This allows users to engage with meaningful advice and useful information even when they cannot look at a screen, such as while they are exercising, commuting, or preparing for bed. The inclusion of professional narration is intended to make the experience more engaging and less boring, ensuring that the content is accessible whenever and wherever the user wants. This flexibility is a core part of the application’s design, aiming to make it easy for anyone to fit 15 minutes of learning into their daily routine regardless of how busy their schedule might be.

It's not exactly what I wanted, it's clear that self help books are way more popular than they should be imo but there are gems that should be universally a must read. Giving a book a try with this app is surprisingly reasonable. I do feel like some books need to be experienced first hand while the current popular genre of self help doesn't require to be fully consumed as they are not artistic nor entertaining in nature. The app gives you the general gist, which again is more than enough.
see, I actually subscribed for the premium by accident and have not used it since the sub cos I filed for a refund. however, during the free-trial, my experience with it was good. the catalog, the interface, the structure, everything about it was good. when I am able to pay a premium again, I would. the app without premium is good but the best of it I am sure would be with premium. the support team is also helpful which I think should be indicative of an educational system.
May have finally stumbled upon a true for self-help junkies with ADHD like myself! I cannot recall the last sentence of any of the myriad of books I've purchased... because I never finish them. Finished my first book summary and immediately purchased the app! This is an app I see myself actually using, not just dismissing yet another daily reminder to open it! Looking forward to more reading, listening and growth!
great app and great customer support. the app itself is great, condenses information into digestible chunks and is great that you can listen or read! I also made an error and bought the wrong subscription, Anastasia was so helpful and refunded the money for me very quickly!

What features are included in the Headway app?
Headway offers two experiences: a guided personalized learning plan for web users, built from your quiz answers and currently being iterated on (the summaries it includes now may be replaced with other interactive content types), and a non-guided path where you choose book summaries to read or listen to based on your goals. Beyond that, it includes Shorts (four interactive visual formats), Search, an adjustable Audio queue, Collections, Highlights, offline access, Recaps, voice selection, Streaks, an Intimacy Coach, motivational wallpapers, widgets, and more.
How do personalized recommendations work?
Behind personalized carousels is a bit of machine learning magic — smart algorithms that use real-time data to tailor content just for you.It starts with your app onboarding answers, and every summary you read or listen to shapes what comes next. You can also update your goals anytime in the Activity tab, which directly shapes the "More to [your goal]" carousel.
What is Headway Shorts tab?
Shorts tab — a separate feed built for those tiny breaks throughout the day. It mixes four interactive formats (quizzes, interesting facts, visuals, and shortcuts) that you scroll through, and it's personalized based on your goals and what you interact with most.
Can Headway help me remember what I read?
Yes, Headway includes tools built for that. After each summary you get a Recap of the main ideas and actions, and everything you save, highlight, or finish is stored in your Library with reminders to bring you back to it.
Can I use Headway on multiple devices?
Yes, to access your subscription on different devices, use the same email address you used to purchase it.
