Google Maps is great and I use it daily both home and abroad. Not every country is well mapped by Google Maps, but many are. I have so many saved places that it clutters up the map sometimes.

I had no problem with the app so far but for the last few days when I search for a route to a destination, and it gives me 23 alternative routes like it has always been giving it doesn't allow me to pick the route I want to follow by tapping on it. Google Maps is an essential, whether I take public transport or drive myself to a location. I can easily estimate how long it will take me to get there and what routes are best suited for my trip. If I'm unfamiliar with the area, I can simply look up reviews of local restaurants and places to go to. Overall, I find the app reliable when traveling.

Before all the we think you need these updates, I didn't have to sit and wait and watch map spin spin spin before finally saying I can't find the route. Doesn't matter. a 5minute or hour long map is slow and almost unusable. I am always using the most up to date app updates. and no settings on the phone have been changed to hinder the maps' use. example, I do not let map fall asleep or be set to deep sleep. My phone signal is always strong 6 bars. If I am on wifi maps dose same spin spin spin.

Google Maps updates imagery on a regular basis and our teams strive to keep it as up to date as possible. Currently there’s no option to request an imagery update.

Is there a way to tell the age of the image used on Google Maps?

You can check the dates of Street View imagery in the top left corner of Google Maps. This option is currently not available for Satellite view.

My timeline is not available.  What should I do to fix it?
