Looking for a small task person is hard. This makes it easier. Will recommend. Most of what you find online are people who will turn your small task into a thousand dollars or more project. This is not like that. Also, sexual harassment is a definite safety hazard when it comes to a woman hiring men to work on their house. I had none of that with this experience. It was prompt, respectful, and didn't pressure me to to do more than requested.

Tasker was outstanding but service came at a high price when the TaskRabbit fee was added on. Easy to book. It would have been nice to make use of the other half of the hour I paid for by completing another task but as it was unrelated to mounting my TV, the tasker could not, per TaskRabbit.

The Tasker who showed up was GREAT. He went above and beyond, and agreed to help after another Tasker called off a visit at the 11th hour.The website was confusing to use. I had a small job, about 30 minutes, and one Tasker didn’t mention a 2-hour minimum till we had agreed on a time. At least two others said yes, then canceled after that.This was the second time I’d used the site within 10 days. First time the website was much easier to use.

We hired two helpers from TaskRabbit for the same day. One took care of gardening jobs, such as pruning a tree and removing dead plants, and the other separately hired handyman did misc jobs related to carpentry, such as fixing a loose door and replacing a handle. In both cases, the workers communicated clearly to make sure they understood the scope of work, arrived promptly, did everything we asked, were very polite, and offered an excellent value for their services. We will definitely choose to use TaskRabbit again in the future.

This allows your Tasker the opportunity to resolve the issue themselves.If it’s been over 24 hours, or you and your Tasker were unable to come to a resolution together, we are here to help!

How Do I Get More Tasks?

If you haven’t received any tasks or you're not receiving as many as you'd like, here are some tips to improve your chances of getting invitations:

Make sure your account isn’t paused.

Extend your Work Area Map, if possible! This can open up more task opportunities.

Add more Availability to your calendar. If you mark yourself as unavailable, you won’t show up in Client search results and won’t receive task invitations. Make sure to set your Availability only for times when you can actually complete tasks. Please note, Taskers usually need to have three consecutive hours of availability to show up in searches.

Add any skills you're comfortable tasking in. Offering everything you’re able to do increases your visibility to Clients.

Put more detail into your quick pitches—this will help set you apart from other Taskers.

Adjust your rates to be more competitive. The pricing guidance feature in the “Skills & Rates” section of the app is based on your experience level and the prices Clients are booking Tasks at in your area.

Set your Same Day preferences and toggle on Same Day Invitations. This toggle resets at midnight each night, so be sure you turn it back on any time you want to accept same day tasks!

Why Should I Use the Chat Thread?

One of the most important tools the Tasker App offers is the chat thread. Unless you're speaking with your Client in person, we suggest utilizing the task’s chat thread to keep track of important conversations about task details, commitments, and receipts.

The chat thread can be used to document:

Proof of commitments: If there is ever a dispute between a Tasker and a Client, the chat thread can help Customer Support assess the situation. Taskrabbit can view all chat threads, so remember to think of them as a running record for each task.

Expenses and receipts: For agreed-upon expenses, we recommend taking photos of receipts as soon as you get them. This protects you if you lose any receipts.

Time tracking: Beneath every phone call, photo, and text that you send in the chat thread, there is an automatic time stamp that displays the date and time that it was sent. This helps you keep track of when you started and ended your task or if you took any breaks so you can accurately invoice your Clients for the hours you worked. It also keeps your Clients up-to-date on your progress.

Photos: Before, after, and during a task, you can privately exchange photos with your Clients. This can help you estimate a task’s scope, share updates with your Clients, and deliver great customer service.

Protected Voice Calls: You and your Client can make calls through the Tasker app. Phone calls through the app are redirected through a third-party phone number to protect your privacy. So, there's no need to exchange personal contact information—all communication can be done right in the app.

Remember the chat thread displays timestamps beneath every form of communication—take advantage of this! Using the chat thread is a great way to keep records of the work you’ve accomplished, and messages and photos can serve as proof of your work in the event of a dispute.
