Developer Notes:

Hey everybody! First of all, the Free version of Update 19 has been released.

Secondly, I called this annual post the State of the Game for the past 5 years, but I'm changing it to State of the RJ, because lately I've actually been working on more than just one Game. I'll go into that later in this post. This is going to be a long one, but within, I'm going to talk about my plans for the next year or so. I'm going to announce the game(s) I'm planning for after Come Home. Then I'm going to answer a bunch of questions that people have asked me in a Q&A.

Let's talk a bit first about what is planned for Come Home. At this point, we're getting very close to the end of the game and I'm looking at how I want to wrap everything up.

Update 20

Top of my priority list right now is Update 20. This update will be finishing up the story, adding all the multiple endings, and wrapping up the game.

The update will likely be pretty short, as it's really just a little lead-up to the endings, then the ending itself. If you're the type to want to see all the endings, you'll get a little more gameplay out of the Update, but if you only care about one or two of the endings, it's probably not going to take you long to finish.

Right now, it's looking like Update 20 will be released around December/January. These are very preliminary dates though, so please don't hold me to it. I'll announce an official date when I get closer to it.

Come Home - Complete Edition

After Update 20, I'm going to do one (probably) final update for Come Home. This update will be for the Premium Edition only and will add more sex scenes, dates, anything else I feel like I want in the game, but didn't get a chance to do before the endgame. I'll also be cleaning the game up as much as I can.

After this, I'll change the name of the Premium Edition to the Complete Edition. It will only be a name change, not a completely different version that I'm trying to sell you or anything. If you have the Premium Edition, you will have the Complete Edition.

At this point, Come Home will leave early access on Steam and have a full 1.0 release. Then Come Home will be finished and I'll be moving on. I'm expecting this to happen next Summer. 

Reviews:

Looks interesting enough to give it a go, but we'll see which 0.1 this one falls into.EDIT: It's not too bad by any means, but it's not that great of a start. If the game is designed to be sandbox, I think the very first release is always super important. A somewhat half-baked 0.1 feels the sandbox far far far too empty and unclear what's supposed to happen.

I like what is said in the Dev notes but the mention of the later introduction of a map gives me pause. Is this going to transform into a sandbox? I've kind of sworn off those for the time being. Regardless, best of luck on the game and congrats on your big day, Dev.

Going off from the dev notes I'll probably wait for quite a few versions before trying the game. I'm sure it's not easy making a VN, but it seems like the first release should be a bigger build to entice people to join the dev as a paying patron. It also sounds like the graphics aren't the greatest either. I do wish him all the best with his brand new game.

tried it and was ok. at least until i got to the free roam part of the game. sooo its not sanbox yet but even the freeroam annoyed me. im just more into story focused games where you make choices rather than running around trying to figure out where to go. regarding Incest tag im assuming step-family is as close as it gets in game since even though you can change how you address them it still comes off a a step-family story. which is ok but im not sure that qualifies for an incest tag...or maybe it does for Patreon idk. as for the Virgin tag. is MC virgin or suzi? or who does this apply to? also i forgot to mention as soon as i got to freeroam part of the game i had to quit the game so i dont know much beyond that i just couldnt stay with it. but either way good luck dev. 

Final Verdict:

The game’s story is about When your father goes missing, you return home from studying abroad to help uncover clues to where he could have gone. But returning to your hometown brings back a lot of old feelings and you soon find yourself meeting new people and rekindling relationships with old friends as well.How are you supposed to focus on finding your father, when there are so many other interesting characters who all want your attention as well. You can’t just let love pass you by. Your father would understand.
