When you exit a doorway, it will usually be blocked off with a wooden door, indicating you can’t go back through it. You’ll almost never reenter an exited doorway, so focus ahead and see if there’s another open door or destination available.

On that note: there really isn’t any backtracking in Monument Valley 2. You’re always moving forward. This usually involves climbing towers, but you rarely have to climb up and then back down to reach your destination unless some part of the world has changed significantly.

If you’re working on a sideways puzzle where your character is facing an odd direction, feel free to turn your device to make the situation easier to look at.

Sound can be helpful in Monument Valley 2. Often, when you move an object to the correct place or make a significant change, a swelling of the music can be heard. This can help indicate you’re on the right track.

There are areas in the beginning where you can leave Ro’s child behind. If Ro won’t move and waves her arms, she’s probably waiting for her child. Usually the key to avoiding this is to tap far enough down a path or block so there is room for both Ro and her child to stand. If you send Ro to the edge of a block, there won’t be room for her child.

THIS GAME IS THE BEAT GAME OF ALL TIME!!!! I thought the first one was good, andthen this one came!! As soon as I saw it in the App Store, I bought it! It was so fun! Thelevels were just the right amount of challenging, not to easy not to hard, but I have a fewminor suggestions: the main thing I didn't like was that the story lines are not clear. Ihave so many questions about MV1 and MV2. Is Ida the queen or princess of the crows?Why did she go on that whole adventure? Who was that ghost lady and why does she callIda a " thieving princess" What is the ghost lady even talking about? And what doestotem pole guy have to do with it? The story line in MV2 was a little clearer, but it hadnothing to do with the first one. Is Ro's child Ida? Is Ro the ghost in MV1? Why does Rohave to leave her child? What were all the little sparks coming out of Ro's hat? And I wasalso kind of disappointed when there were no bonus levels in MV2. In MV1 their was Idasdream and forgotten shores but there were none in MV2. But otherwise l loved it! Pleaseconsider what I said if you are going to make MV3 (which I hope you do) thank you 4reading!

We couldn't wait to go back to the land of twisty towers and uncanny beauty-and thissequel didn't let us down. With its striking colors and level design, it's even morestunning than the first game. New elements like light beams and controlling twocharacters make the puzzles even trickier. The bond between that mother and child iswhat we'll remember most, though-their relationship moved us in a way few games do.

I struggled a bit with how to rate this game. Most likely if you're reading this you'vealready played the first Monument Valley. Let me affirm what others have said in that thisis an easier game in terms of mechanics. However the game is very beautiful, more sothan its predecessor, in terms of art, gameplay, and story. I was a bit perturbed by theease at which I solved it, however I can't in good conscience rate this less than 5 stars.As a stand-alone title it is superb and absolutely gorgeous. The philosophy of the story isextremely whimsical and almost meditative in its beauty. The fact that the difficult is lessthan the first may turn off some to which I understand, however I have no problem payingthe price for a title like this on iOS. If this game came first it would be met with the sameacclaim the predecessor had. If I were to recommend this series to someone I wouldadvise they start here and then go back and try the first one plus expansions. All in all,it's a fantastic puzzle game filled with rich art and animation.
