Strategies of Prune:

As mentioned above, Prune is quite simple to play. You just need to plant seeds in the designated location and prune the plants so that they receive more light and bloom. However, you need to pay attention to the characteristics of each level to be able to “direct” the growth of the plants. Some points you need to note include:

The levels are independent and do not affect each other.

Don’t let your plant touch black or red objects or it will die immediately.

Pay attention to the wind direction, it can make your plant grow in the direction you don’t want.

The light in some levels is clearly divided, the stronger the light, the more beautiful the flowers grow.

You can plant new seeds while the old plant is growing, the old plant will be destroyed when the new seeds are delivered.

Player Comments of Prune:

All I can say is... wow. This game is so much more than just about cutting branches andgrowing flowers or whatever. It is a story; a story about life, how no matter what obstaclelife encounters, it will find a way to survive and continue. And I have never felt soemotionally impacted by a game in my life, besides Shadow of the Colossus. Forexample, sometimes, I complete a level while the "red" stuff, whatever it is, is infectingmy tree, and, even though I completed the level, I feel a pang of sadness as I know thatthat tree will spend the rest of its days as a red husk, unable to produce flowers or doanything other than sit there as a testimony to the red infection. I have never felt like thistowards a game, ever; this is a game about GROWING TREES, for Pete's sake. And yet itmanaged to pull on my heartstrings as though I could feel everything the trees felt in thegame. Easy five stars, amazing game.

ljust started playing this game about a week ago and love it. It looks so simple butthere's so much more than what it looks like. There's a few things though that I feel couldmake the game even better and address a couple of questions and issues. I wassurprised to find out there was a "ceiling" and you can only go so far up. It would begreat if it was indefinite to see how far you can actually go. I was also wondering whatthe different color "moons" or "suns" were, are they something you want to branch outas much as possible to? And the different colored diamonds in the sky. I noticedoccasionally when there's a blue diamond a blue flower will bloom then just as quickdisappear. I seem to notice when cutting branches the game doesn't respond to myswipe and sometimes it takes two or three times before it cuts.Lastly, are white branchesa good thing? They seem to be a random thing. It would be great if these things could beexplained in the opening of the game. Otherwise, I think it's a great game!

got this game when it went free to support people in lockdown due to the pandemic. Ifirst just want to stop and point out how generous and kind that was before I evendiscuss the game. Thank you!On first glance, I was underwhelmed by the game. Ithought the pruning concept was too simple and it was a rather boring. However, I amglad to say this was a very, very wrong first take. After sinking some time into this game(I am at the 4th world) I find that the game develops its mechanics in a fashion that feelsintuitive to the player without having to say a word, and required me to focus on how tosolve each puzzle in its unique fashion. Furthermore, they are able to build on each levelwhile maintaining the black and white serene atmosphere. I am usually someone whoalways has their phone on silent. But this is a game that needs to be played with sound. The soundtrack is so calming and peaceful, and playing this game with headphones in isa meditative masterpiece.

Conclusion:

With a swipe of a finger, grow and shape your tree into the sunlight while avoiding the dangers of a hostile world. Bring life to a forgotten landscape, and uncover a story hidden deep beneath the soil. With minimalist design, meditative music, and 48 thoughtfully designed levels, the game offers a tranquil experience without distractions or monetization. Developed by Joel McDonald and enhanced by Kyle Preston’s sound design, Prune has been acclaimed for its creative gameplay and artistic depth, making it a unique digital journey into the world of trees.
