Cat Quest II
Introduction

Cat Quest II is an open-world adventure game where players are immersed in a wondrous world where cats and dogs coexist. Players can choose to embark on an adventure solo or with friends, continuously improving their abilities while enjoying the vast world scenery, becoming a powerful warrior to fight against all sorts of enemies. The game offers players a variety of weapons; skillfully using weapon and skill combinations to defeat enemies in your path and earn more rewards to strengthen your combat power. The game also offers a story mode, allowing players to witness heartwarming and beautiful stories, providing a more immersive experience.

Features of Cat Quest II:

Mew Game: This is a new mode that lets you play the entire game with ‘meowdifiers’! These can range from a ‘Level One’ playthrough, to an ‘Only Spells’ run! Challenge yourself and see who is the best catventurer of all! Purr-lus, there will be never-seen-before armor and weapons that you can only earn from this mode!

Inventory: The inventory just got a whole lot better! Now it allows you to more easily switch between gear tabs, and even helps you sort your items much better! Furr-thermore, items now display their rarity and better show what elemental damage they do! There is also now a new tab for your Royal Arts!

Elements: Weapons that do elemental damage are now better displayed in the game! The damage numbers now change color depending on the elemental damage you do! From white(physical) to purple(arcane), you will never not know what elemental damage you are doing ever again!

Sprinting: Want to travel around the world even faster? We’ve added the ability for your characters to now sprint! This happens automatically once you run for more than a few seconds, so you can now cover great distances much faster! Run, kitty and doggie, run!

Royal Arts: We’ve revamped the Pawer Smash! Now this Royal Art lets you do a new, devastating attack that is unique to each weapon type! Simply roll and attack right after to trigger this new move! Have fun seeing what it does! And furr-et not, the original Pawer Smash is still there, but in a slightly different form!

New Enemies: Felt that the oceans were a smidge empty? We’ve added water enemies to the Mew World! These furr-some monsters will now make your travels across the Pawcific Ocean much more dangerous! Try fighting them and you might even find a new source of gold or exp!

Difficulty: One of the biggest feedback we got was the game got too easy near the end, and this tweak will improve that a great deal! Enemies get tougher at high levels, but weapon upgrades and stats have also been tweaked to account for this! Experience a much more tuned difficulty with this update!

Defense: We’ve revamped the Defense stat, and now it works much closer to how it did in the original Cat Quest! A shield now appears over your life bar, and the shield will take damage first. Don’t worry, it will recharge slowly, so it’s now up to you if you want to go full HP, or Def!

Quality of Life: So many improvements! Now the map shows what level quests and dungeons are before you enter. The Kingsmarker displays the general direction it will teleport you, and we’ve added a way to finally delete your save files! These are on top of many other smaller tweaks we made to make things smoother!

Useful Tips of Cat Quest II:

Almost every attack monsters make in this game is telegraphed by a red circle or other shape to show where the attack will land. This makes dodging away from everything pretty straightforward. Melee attacks are the most common, and they show up as a circle that fills with red until it is full, and then they attack. Certain monsters can also use the same spells you can. Ranged attacks are also fairly common, and they are the hardest to react to. Usually the enemy simply rises into the air for a second, then slams down and shoots at you with no red indicator of where it will go. However shots do not track you, so they can be dodged by staying mobile. The character you are not controlling does not take damage. It will randomly use spells you have equipped on them and will regenerate mana when attacking like you do. Swapping to them will move them to where you are, you don't teleport to where they are.

Combat in the beginning basically boils down to using the Freeze spell to slow enemies down and then killing them with melee. Ranged is the alternative, but it comes with some caveats. The first is that it generally has much lower DPS than melee early on, and equipping a ranged weapon halves your max HP (only affects you when you have a ranged weapon equipped, not permanent). As one would expect gear that boosts magic (which all ranged attacks are) tend to have less defense and HP, so not only will you have half the HP you normally would but you will have much less defense. Later on though, ranged becomes much more useful. I eventually switched to using a ranged weapon, and spamming the Lightning spell as mana permitted. The DPS is obnoxious and outdoes melee, on top of being safer. Lightning has a knockback effect so it helps keep enemies away. So to recap, use melee and the Freeze spell to start, and then ranged and Lightning once you get it (I will note this in the walkthrough). As for equipment, I actually used the Cat Soldier weapon/armor/helm throughout the game, which boosts experience gained but doesn't have the best stats. On the Dog, I used the best ranged weapon I had and the best magic boosting gear I had, and upgraded as I got better stuff.

As for achievements, there's not too much to say. None of them are particularly difficult, and the game tracks everything for you. When you press cn_start to bring up the map, there's a tracker in the far left corner that shows the number of dungeons/quests/equipment and how many of each you have. Dungeons have a "?" above them when you haven't even entered them, a half-filled diamond symbol when you've entered it but haven't cleared it, and have no marking at all when they are cleared. Chests disappear from the map when they are opened, so it's pretty simple to see what you have and haven't done, though the map is zoomed in a lot more than I would like. For some reason the Steam version can zoom, we cannot. As I said on page 1 though, nothing is missable. In order to "clear" a dungeon, you have to loot every chest that has equipment and every box that has money, so you'll get the vast majority of equipment just clearing dungeons. There's some chests you need a gold key for, and the earliest you can get it is about half way through the game. That will allow you to get the last few. I will note one thing though : every piece of equipment has a specific place it can be found, and it can be found in other chests that have multiple potential drops. I don't include what I got from each chest in the walkthrough because I don't know which chests have a specific drop and which have a lottery drop and to be blunt, I'm not interested in finding out. It doesn't matter which chest gives you the Ice Staff 100% of the time because you have to open them all anyway and nothing is missable. Once you clear all the dungeons there's about 15-20 chests on the overworld map to open and that's about it.

Player Comments of Cat Quest II:

I have been playing this game on my MacBook Air. I know it isn't optimized for it, but itruns great. While it seems like a simple, light-hearted RPG, it is a combat-based game. You basically go from dungeon to dungeon fighting enemies. At higher levels the combatgets challenging. No matter what device you use to play, though, it is much better with acontroller. The touch interface isn't great ( tried on my phone as well), but mouse isbarely playable. With a controller you have dedicated buttons for spell, attack and rolling,as well as movement.

I have been playing cat quest since I was 4 and I played it with my dad. It brings back menostalgia of when I was little. Overtime I have concvinced my friends to join this game. Now I still love it to this day. One thing I have always wanted is multiplayer for mobile andmultiplayer online. So for example for iPad you would have p1 and p2 same as normal co-op. And finally me and my friend want one line multiplayer so you could play multiplayerwith your friends at different houses. I love your game altogether and keep up the best ofwork. SO HYPE FOR CAT QUEST 3. Sincerely Quinn Hardesty A long time player.

love Cat Quest 1& 2 and have triple dipped buying them on Steam, Switch, and iOS. Mygo to platform is switch only because I can't deal with the drag to move controls on iOS. Ithink these games are great on mobile and really showcase that the App Store does havegood games. Unfortunately it's hard to recommend because of the weird control scheme.Having controller support is awesome but I don't always carry my controller with me.These are the perfect games to play when out and about in regular life since I don'tusually carry my switch with me everywhere I go but I do always have my phone. Pleaseadd a regular touchscreen joystick and buttons controls in addition to the drag to move.Having more options is always better. Thank you for making such great games.
