Getting Characters and Weapons: We have an in-depth guide on how to get characters in DNA, but to sum it up, you need to get Secret Letters by spending Secret Letter Clues in the shop or by getting them from different events and activities (like the weekly Nocturnal Echoes boss fights).Secret Letters act like loot boxes that reward you with either Thoughts (for unlocking characters) or weapon parts (for crafting new gear). You can open Secret Letters by completing Covert Commissions from the Combat menu.

Upgrading Characters and Weapons: Every character and weapon requires ascension materials and EXP materials, both of which can be farmed through the Commissions tab in the Combat screen.It's best to funnel your resources to just one character and one pair of weapons at the beginning if you want to be efficient with your progression. We recommend maxing out either Phoxhunter or Berenica first. Both of them have well-rounded kits that are suitable for all missions. Also, by having a Lumino and Umbro character, you can deal with the other elemental types without having to worry about elemental counters.

Demon Wedges: Demon Wedges are equippable items that further empower your characters and equipment. They work like the Mod system in Warframe — Demon Wedges give you increased stats, and some provide a powerful effect that other wedges don't. However, every Demon Wedge equipped will eat up a certain number of Tolerance points.Since Demon Wedges have varying Tolerance costs, you need to be mindful of which ones you equip. These are more of a mid-late-game thing, though, and you won't have to worry about these until you reach Trial Level 35 or so.

Don't Invest In Too Many Characters: With the shift from a character gacha to giving every character for free, Duet Night Abyss also makes it easier to make one of the biggest mistakes you can in the early days of gacha games. This mistake is when you invest in too many characters at the same time. During the launch of these games, you get a ton of free currency including coins, Secret Letter Clues, and other items that you need for forging or upgrading characters and weapons.However, once you're past the launch content, the number of items you get will take a massive drop, and you'll have to slowly work towards your characters' growth. Hence, if you spend all the early currency to upgrade too many characters, you'll just have a group of decent characters but none of them will be really good. Though if you want to beat endgame modes like the Immersive Theatre, you need to have top-tier characters.

The story is well-written, the characters' chemistry and personalities are so good. The world is interesting and pretty. The game mechanics are great, controls on mobile felt a bit complicated at first and I still prefer PC, but we can adjust control button size and placement which helps. There's a lot of grinding but it feels so rewarding when I finally get what I worked for. Can't participate in gacha as ftp really but the game feels complete without it and cosmetics are just extra.

Been playing this game since November a couple of days after it came out and I love it. I will admit there are still somethings the devs can do to improve stuff but after going from a gacha to their current they are headed in the right direction. Also they are pretty responsive and address issues as quickly as possible. Overall, would recommend if you don't mind grinding games.

Story - 9.5/10 I was actually surprised by the quality of the story, as well as the beautiful music that accompanies it. Although, I wish it dabbled further into the racism the charons face in the first part of the story. Gameplay - 8/10 Grindy, but I love sinking time into games. It only lacks more interesting ways to play the game. Graphics - 9/10 Balanced on mobile, and the game runs smoothly. I just wish some textures could be higher quality.

Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Yes. Enjoyable, no purchase required, ended up supporting the dev's anyway because they did a truly solid work and I want to see more of it. Also: I feel that the story of the world & characters has been given so much more love than these kind of games usually get. I'm truly happy about it, seeing what the future holds for these very likeable characters is one of my main hooks. 1.1 Edit: The game is moving towards the right direction, I like it, a lot.
