CHRONO TRIGGER is a classic role-playing game where players embark on a grand adventure to save the planet. Fight alongside your companions against a variety of enemies across the past, present, and future. Choose three characters and strategically unleash their skills and items to defeat them, earning experience points, tech points, and gold rewards to level up your characters, purchase stronger equipment, and upgrade skills, giving you greater combat power. Each character in the game possesses unique skills and different attribute tendencies; upgrade them according to your own preferences to create a combat system tailored to your individual needs.
Comfortable controls: Whether you play with a gamepad or a keyboard, the controls have been updated for a more pleasant gameplay experience.
Active Time Battle Version 2: During battle, time will not stop, and you can enter commands when the character's gauge is full. The enemies' positions will change as time passes, so choose your actions based on any given situation.
‘Tech’ moves and combos: During battle, you can unleash special ‘Tech’ moves, including abilities and/or magic and characters can combine these abilities to unleash all new combo attacks which are unique to them. There are over 50 different types of combos that you can execute between two and three characters!
Experience the 'Dimensional Vortex' and the 'Lost Sanctum' dungeons: The Dimensional Vortex: a mysterious, ever-changing dungeon existing outside of space and time. What wonders await you at its center? The Lost Sanctum: enigmatic gates in prehistoric and medieval times will lead you to these forgotten chambers. Meet the challenges presented to you and long-lost secrets may be revealed...
Graphics and sound: While keeping the atmosphere of the original, the graphics have been updated in higher resolution. As for the sound and music, under the supervision of composer Yasunori Mitsuda, all songs have been updated for an even more immersive gameplay experience.

Exploration through space: This time created by CHRONO TRIGGER, the journey is full of charm that never appears in real life. Explore the multiverse, where time can go back or into the future. You will be overwhelmed with primitive things in prehistoric times, gradually upgrading to ancient times. Dive deeper into the Middle Ages, live in the present and think about the future; that’s a glimpse of your journey. What you encounter will change over time, adapting to each environment. A natural circle is closed, but a stopping point is a place far away from this earth. Miracles through the ages will make for the most memorable adventure in history.
Aid equipment upgrade: In the battles you are about to participate in, you will have to face many difficulties and hardships. CHRONO TRIGGER has created a collection of support tools for players to ease that burden. Graphics, the sound you can adjust, control the fighting force and much more. Each character’s ability to compete is different; there is a strategy that every combination is perfect. You can use more than 50 diverse combinations; the moves are always ready for you. Weapons to fight opponents also need to be added and upgraded quickly. Outstanding combat talent can only be promoted with the support of those tools.
Enjoyable characters: You'll enjoy plenty of the same characters that the original game introduced in this game. The main character Crono is a powerful and just guy who's willing to do anything to save someone and even the whole world. There's also Marle which is the girl who's accidentally transported to another dimension. Then, there's Lucca and many other characters that you'll meet along the way. There are so many friends and foes that you'll meet here and have fun with!

Don't grind TP. You don't need many and you'll earn a ton more.
Your techs may stop learning until you take a char. to visit spekkio at the end of time. So when you get Frog for example, don't go to the bosses castle w/o going back thru the time gate to get his magic or it'd be a big waste of tp.
Keep a memory helmet for one of Ayla/Chrono/Robo for easily killing mushrooms (mt woe, 100tp) or Turrets aboard a ship (100 tp)
Give Ayla always in party tp focus so she can learn charm. Earlier better, few extra tabs, although it doesn't really pay off til near end game.
Give Marle always in party tp focus so she can learn Ice2 + Haste for bosses as the first optional dungeon in the desert has several monsters that need it. That place is a great hotbed of TP/exp too @ the time you can do it, and provides access to memory caps and caps that prevent status ailments (you can do it, b4 mt woe/turrets..and easily rack up TP from those spec. monsters if you do)...If you don't have her learn Ice 2, you can get a dual tech hit all ice but you'd have to use frog too.
Visit 600 and interact with the sealed chests, but do not open. Then go to 1000 and get the upgraded version. Then go back to 600 and get the still good lesser version.
When fighting golems (strings of 3-4 boss fights of them) - you can easily cheese them by doing the above. They use a gravity attack, and a clone of what you used.
So if for example you use luminaire or something like volt bite only (or last) and had one char. equipped with absorb 100% light and another with abs. 50% light, they will heal you with their response move. The other character can just die/heal themselves. It's useful as some players may have troubles with them first time around.

I have played this game since it first came out on SNES in 1995, I was 9 at the time. It is still to this day my all time favorite game ever! I love this game, my children now love this game, and I can't recommend it enough! The story is second to none, the characters are unforgettable, the music score is breathtaking, and it's the only game that truly takes me back in time! I'm still that 9 year old boy every time I load it up!!! Thank you Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yuji Horii, Akira Toriyama, Masato Kato, and the rest of the team for some of my fondest memories and gifting me with this absolute masterpiece!!! 10/10 GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME!!!
Classic gameplay at it's best. I am yet another gamer old enough to have played ChronoTrigger when it was first released. I was 16 in 1995. This is one of my favorite games ofall time. This version of the game in no way deserves lower than 4 stars. There isprobably a level of nostalgia that affects my review, but nonetheless it is a qualityrelease. The controls are fine. Touch based, and very sensitive. You can touchanywhere on the screen and a virtual joystick shows up and you can slide around fromthere directing where you want the characters to go. I rather like it compared to others(SOM) where you have to punch around a couple times to find the D-pad. The menuscreen pops up from simply tapping it. You can then flick around to different options in atrue iOs style. During battles and dialog you can tap anywhere on the screen and itregisters as button confirmation tap. You can also slide your finger up and down to selectdifferent battle options or responses to questions. Again, you don't have to aim yourfinger at a certain option on the screen. If it is highlighted you just tap anywhere on thescreen. The one negative thing I guess I could say is that the sprites look somewhatblurry on screen, especially compared with the hi-res retina text right next to it. As it isa retina display and these graphics were originally from 1995, they are not going to lookbeautiful on this high res screen. That said, the blurry factor I got used to and no longernoticed it a few hours into the game. After reading some negative reviews I had myworries, but I am thoroughly enjoying this release. 5/5
I have been putzing around the two towns and fighting in the forest and at the fair.Everything is as I remember. The controls are a little finicky, but I think I will get used tothem. I see a lot of reviews asking for widescreen support. I don't see that happeningand I don't think the game needs it. What I would like to see though is full screen supportfor the controls. I am on an iPhone 5, I have black borders on each side of the screen, which is fine. The problem I have is the controls stop responding when you enter theborder/black area. This is a mistake on the developers part for at least two reasons. 1stallowing us use of that space would free up more of the actual screen for us to see. 2ndlybecause of the black borders players have to stretch their thumbs more to be in the playarea, this can get uncomfortable after awhile. I hope this is something that they areworking on.One last thing that I would like that I forgot last night is sound controls. I findit almost laughable that there is no way to mute the sound so I can listen to my ownmusic or a podcast while I play. I might also want to talk on the phone and play at thesame time, it would be very difficult with this game blaring in the background. I'm noteven asking for granular controls like music and sound effects, although if they are ableto do it would be cool, I just want a mute button in the menu somewhere.
If you love playing old-school games, then you will definitely going to love it.
