Kingdom: New Lands is a popular simulation management game where players become rulers, using gold to recruit commoners and even vagrants, training them into armies such as swordsmen and archers. Players must strategically position defenses and construct various defensive buildings to repel nighttime monster attacks, acquiring more gold and loot to continuously upgrade their defenses and expand their territory. The more you explore, the richer the resources: Although desolate and ragged, this kingdom is still a large land rich in resources. Your job is to mobilize the small initial number of people you have along with yourself across strange lands on horseback to find resources.If you find it, you will hand it over to your people to diligently exploit and bring it to places in the country that need to be built. But there are not only resources such as wood, metal, gold, silver…, there are also secrets, lost treasures, antiques and many other interesting things that can be unlocked during this exploration process. Expeditions always bring more than you expect.

Recruit loyal people: Having resources is equal to having too much if you lack human strength. What you need most now is to recruit loyal gods, bring them to one place to learn, select and put them into suitable job positions.The king will have to use gold found in resource areas to pay salaries and recruit his subjects. They will be the ones joining the army, also an effective construction team, the core to regenerate this kingdom.

Build a rich and strong kingdom: To develop a prosperous and safe kingdom, many prime projects must be built. Allocate people to build stronger walls and increase the number of watchtowers for better observation. You can also divide fields for cultivation, build a bakery, and a smithy. Gradually, the residential area became much more crowded.The faster the construction progress and the more reasonable the resource allocation, the faster the kingdom will take shape. The foundation for development and security also comes from here.

Protect your kingdom: Any land that shows signs of life and development will certainly be watched. What’s more, your place is such a rich land, with so many resources and so many talents.When night falls, monsters from the darkness will appear. During the day, foreign invaders are trying to do all kinds of things. You will have to work hard to recruit soldiers, build defense lines, strengthen watchtowers, and create weapons to be ready for such battles.

Useful Tips:

Explore: Before you have your farms, gold can be hard to come by.  Explore far to the east and west.  Sometimes you will come across a treasure chest that will help kickstart your kingdom.

Don't build everything as soon as you have the chance to do so: This game is about resource management.  Early on, gold coins are precious and you will need to find a balance from building new walls and farms, to finding lost souls in the woods.  When starting out, having a few archers on each wall beats having a dozen workers (because you will soon find out that your followers all have really bad aim).  Best way to fix that aim? Turn that single shot into a raining shower of arrows by collecting dozens of archers behind your walls.

You still don't need to build everything, even when you have the cash: Building archer towers on top of the boulders are nice because they give your archers an easy sight over your walls.  The down side is they love the posts you build them so much that you can never send them along once you begin to expand east and west.  Building these archer towers with the intention of expanding your land soon turns the tactical watchmen in to useless watchmen when your men are off fighting elsewhere.

Growing your population: There is only one way to grow your population, and that is to give coins to lost souls in the forests.  Be careful when clearing the forests.  When you come across a camp, knocking down the trees directly to the left or right of the camps will ultimately destroy them. The camps will not return and so far are the only means of growing your population. So be smart about where you expand your kingdom.

Expand in small increments: Expanding you kingdom is an important part of the game.  When expanding, make sure you start early in the day.  Your workers are stubborn and will sometimes try to finish the job you ordered, even through the night.  In addition, when you are building the wall, you will need time to strengthen the wall to an acceptable level to hold back the hordes of foes.

Player Comments:

This is a pretty unique game. It's hard to classify the genre as there are aspects of tower defense, but you aren't a passive observer, you must travel and use your time and money efficiently. The game is remarkably simple in terms of controls, but pretty difficult and does not provide easy explanations for its mechanics. These are things you will either look up (lame), or ideally discover on your own as you improve. Overall I found the game to be quite addicting.

Cheap, beautiful, endlessly replay-able, super fun. very chill. unfolding the puzzle of the gameplay is very satisfying for first timers. great retro graphics. soundtrack is amazing. I highly recommend every Kingdom game and Raw Fury is worth checking out. I'm a superfan!

This is a great game, but I'm hesitant to recommend it. The hesitation is because Kingdom Two Crowns exists and is an improvement on this game in every conceivable way. The original Kingdom was innovative and extremely enjoyable for 2016. It's a side-scrolling base-builder. It's slow-paced, especially compared to Kingdom Two Crowns.

Originally I didn't like this game, it was too hard, too tedious, etc. But you really need to read a guide and wiki. The game mechanics are not explained in game at all and it can be frustrating, but once you know how stuff works the difficulty is manageable. It's a challenge game but can be rewarding.
