Gameplay:

Arknights: Endfield is a real-time 3D action role-playing game with strategic elements. Unlike the original Arknights, which features tower defense mechanics, Endfield introduces a semi-open world experience with base-building and strategic management elements.

The core mechanism of combat is the combo skill system. Players control a four-member team simultaneously, with the ability to switch between characters during battle, each of which posses unique skills and abilities. Combat operates through a semi-real-time system where players can switch control between different characters, utilizing skill combinations and tactical coordination to defeat enemies. The system includes multiple attack types: basic attacks, tactical skills, combo skills, and ultimate abilities. Basic attacks are further divided into normal attack, drop attack, dodge pursuit, and execution moves.The four-member team shares three skill gauges, and any operator can consume one to use a tactical skill. The skill gauges recharge over time, and operators not under direct control perform only basic attacks. Heavy hits from basic attacks can directly add segments to the skill gauge and increase enemy imbalance values. When an enemy's imbalance gauge fills completely, they enter an imbalanced state, taking increased damage and the next heavy attack becomes an execution attack. This imbalanced state lasts temporarily before disappearing, requiring players to re-accumulate imbalance through strategic combat.

Endfield features a base-building system that combines exploration with resource management and aspects of a factory simulation, similar to those found in games like Factorio or Satisfactory. Players harvest resources from remote mining nodes connected by custom ziplines, refine and process materials at specific machines, and route them through conveyor belts for crafting. The system requires budgeting and routing electricity, assigning inputs and outputs, and managing various ore types.Developers have stated they aim for an 50:50 ratio between RPG elements and factory building portions, but players may customize their gameplay balance according to their personal preferences. The base builder supplies progression items quickly, encouraging players to learn and develop their industrial complexes.

Characters:

There are a total of 9 playable characters, including your persona, the Endminister. You have the option to play as either a male or female Endminister, as in most other Gacha games. Once you choose your protagonist, you will travel with several characters, including:

Perlica: The supervisor of Endfield Industries, who is in charge of overseeing Endfield's various operations.

Wolfgard: A young mercenary who was a member of the Landbreaker clan and is currently living on the outskirts of society.

Zahi: A mysterious young woman who possesses a lot of knowledge that is insignificant. She comes from a remote and mysterious region, but that's all most people knew about her.

Amber: A northern knight on a hunt. Once held the title of Order of Steel Oath soldier in the military.

Avivenna: A professional warrior and former armed messenger for the Talos-II General Chamber of Commerce (TGCC).

Angelina: An operative sent to Endfield from Rhode Island. She was not only a skilled warrior, but also a master of the incredibly unusual anti-gravity ability of the Originium Arts.

Chen Qianyu: Perlica's security guard and a skilled operative at Endfield Industries.

Fjall: The famous Beastslayer is Fjall from the Order of Steel Oath. However, he returned to the civilization band after growing tired of the constant bloodshed and fighting and pursued a career in medicine.

Strategies:

Movement Tricks: Regular jumping kind of sucks in this game. You want to dash right before you jump, this gives you way more distance. You'll need this for reaching platforms and crossing gaps.Sometimes, resources are high up, and you can't simply jump to get them. Do an attack while you're in the air, and the animation pushes you up just enough to grab it.

The Gathering System: Your AI teammates will grab resources for you, but only after you've picked up that item type once yourself. So make it a habit, every time you see something new, grab it yourself first. After that, your team handles it automatically. They'll also grab enemy drops and help with base stuff. Pretty handy once it's set up.

Mining the Smart Way: You start with Portable Originium Rigs. These work, but they're annoying; you place them, they fill up fast, and you're constantly running back to empty them. Get Electric Mining Rigs as soon as you can. Set up a Relay Tower and some Electric Pylons to power them, and the ores go straight to your storage automatically. This is a huge time saver.

The Heavy Attack Problem: Every character has a Heavy Attack that comes out after 4 or 5 normal hits. These deal good damage, but the animation is quite long, which sometimes turns into a problem for you.You can deal with this problem with an animation cancel. Right when your Heavy Attack connects, dodge or use a skill. You keep the damage, but skip the part where you're standing around doing nothing.Keep practicing until it’s in your muscle memory, and you’ll have smoother combat movements along the way.

Player Comments:

So, I gave this game a try because I've been trying to play with a mobile controller. Safe to say it did, and also suprised me, both with how detailed it is, and how there's 3D animated cutscenes, similar to Genshin, which makes this feel more like a console game. Now I haven't gotten super far into the game yet, but I managed to progress with paying a penny on anything, and , on that note there isn't any pop-ups, which is nice compared to other games. Glad I found something new.

Really great game, what's crazy is the optimization! I can play this game on the highest settings with only a few minor lag-spikes unlike other games like Genshin and Wuwa. The quests are clear and easy to do, combat is easy to understand, the Factory creation is complicated but fun and the unique mechanics are interesting. The only thing missing is Co-op mode, it would be so much fun to play with friends!

Great game, graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is fun. team building can go as deep as you want it to and there's plenty of time to farm up whatever characters you want. the rewards feel good. The newest content really set a high bar for battles and story in future. The factory is fun when you get stuff to work and there's a lot to learn, but there are also blueprints that allow you to engage with that aspect as much or as little as you want.

Best gacha game there is! I've tried all of the ftp games of its kind and Endfield is the best feeling, looking, and snappiest around! Combat is sharp and engaging, and the graphic style is great. The learning curve for the factory especially is steep but once you get it, it's cool. I've got all the characters for free by playing, and upgraded a team to max. Not the most generous game but not stingy at all. Would recommend you give it a try and stick with it.

I've been playing this game for about a month now and overall, it holds a unique experience that feels different in a gacha genre I've never experienced prior. My only highest criticism is that we need more outlets to obtain weapon pulls. The oroberlys (character pulls) are pretty generous, but the weapon I feel need the most help in regards to the generosity there. I look forward to seeing what else comes in the future, especially after this last part of the main story.
