Arcaea is a music game designed for mobile devices. Players will follow two girls on separate journeys to find their lost memories. Although they are separated, their fates remain intertwined. The gameplay is simple: on a 2D chart, players tap, swipe, and long-press in front of the judgment line to achieve higher scores based on the rhythm of the music. The game offers three difficulty levels, allowing players to challenge their limits and compete against other players on the leaderboard. While the game already features over 350 tracks of different styles, it is continuously being updated with more beautiful and captivating songs to be released. Stay tuned!
The main gameplay of Arcaea uses three-dimensional chart lanes that are split into two parts: The top lane and the bottom lane. The top lane consists of two different note types; Arcs in blue(L) or pink(R) that are color coded to indicate which hand to play with, that require the player to hold the note throughout its duration (arcs go in 360 degrees of direction, creating unique chart patterns), and sky notes that are single-tap notes that are present on the top lane. The bottom lane consists of two note types as well: Floor notes and long notes. Floor notes are basic single-tap notes that are present on the bottom lane (much like the sky notes), and long notes require the player to hold throughout their duration.
While playing, players must keep track of two sets of notes moving across the screen, and tap the screen or press controller buttons when the notes intersect with the guiding lines. The game has 5 base difficulties: Past, Present, Future, Eternal, and Beyond (since version 5.7.0). It has a difficulty scale of 1-12, with + variants present, as low as the FTR difficulty (e.g., Future 9+), as a system better known for accurately capturing chart constants. The Arcaea chart constant is a detailed numerical value representing the difficulty/complexity of a song chart, providing a far more precise measure than the displayed difficulty level.
The game includes over 40+ characters referred to as partners that give various beneficial effects while playing the rhythm game, and they gain experience points when selected for gameplay to play in World Mode, a gameplay mode consisting of worlds that allows players to actively play songs to collect more songs, in-game currency, story progress, and possibly partners. This is where the Stamina features take in play, as different Worlds require different amounts of stamina taken every song played. The game starts with 12 bars of stamina by default, where it takes exactly thirty minutes to gain a bar. Worlds typically take either zero, two, and/or options for anything up to 6 bars of stamina.
The player's overall skill level (rank) on Arcaea is calculated by "Potential". When a player starts with 0.00 PTT, the current highest potential that can be reached by any other player's method is 13.29 PTT, although this number increases over time as more songs are added. Potential is the result of mathematical calculations that revolve around a completed song of a chart's main difficulty, letter grade, and high score. Sometimes, a player's potential can either drop, rise, or stay after completing a song based on one's performance. This potential system does not contribute to gameplay in similar ways, except for some songs that may only be unlocked to play once the player meets the requirement of a certain potential level, usually at 11.00 PTT for many boss songs.

High Difficulty Ceiling: The system often brings players to matches that cannot be taken off their eyes. At the same time, their abilities can be optimized over time in each match.
Endurance Testing: The Course Mode is a perfect choice if you are looking for a new challenge. This is completely understandable when it gathers many songs with great difficulty.
Over 350 Songs: Each person can often find their favorite songs from famous artists. In particular, they also possess different styles to change your feelings.
Regular Content Updates: When going through an update, each person will often want to find new elements. Interesting songs will appear and continue to bring many challenges.
Offline Play: If you are looking to kill time, you can start experiencing it immediately. The variety of choices will often make you unable to take your eyes off the gameplay.
Multiple Difficulty Levels: Each song is added to help each person have an impressive entertainment time. In particular, the diversity of gameplay is completely customized based on difficulty.

Hey there, I've been playing for almost a year and a half now and in my own experience I can tell you that you shouldn't force yourself too quickly into playing harder songs, if you can't still get around EX notes on the present charts, try and keep improving your current skill in the past ones; I know that at some point you'll want to take a try at other charts and I understand it, but as you said, it takes practice.
Watching other people's videos playing has also helped me a lot! Analyze their techniques, if it's necessary, slow down the video to better understand their gameplay , like for example their hand movement's.
However I must say, there will be certain days in which I don't feel like playing (or improving), and that's normal, trust me, sometimes it is better to take a break. As weeks pass by, you will start to get used to the game, it also happened to me that I'd be shaky as hell when I first played the game.
Lastly, before playing I practice first with some past or present levels, so my hand won't hurt as much as if I would inmediatly start playing future charts. Kind of a warm up.
One of the most important things is to never pressure yourself because of the "lack of progress" or such. Such will damage your mindset greatly and will not help you improve. Really just take your time and enjoy the game as much as you can. Never "overplay" if you think you have done enough, that would be contraproductive.
Another important thing is to avoid aquiring the wrong muscle memory. For example: if you play a chart that is way above your skill-level you will develop a sense of always making the same mistake again. This can take months or even years to fix. My worst mistake was overplaying Axium Crisis when i was at my mere beginnings. I may have gotten better, but I am still somewhat scarred because of past mistakes.
But since you are still playing on past, there really is no pressure. No complex patterns or such you have to worry about. Find your own pace and you will be set to achieve what you want to. Never get ahead of yourself.

amazing game. i've been playing since january of this year and now that school has wrapped up, i can't put it down. fun and challenging, amazing art and story, and has a wonderful community of players. would highly recommend to anyone. i will say that although you have to pay for some things, it's totally worth it. it not only helps out the creators, but you get great things in return, like good songs and cool characters.
All I've got to say is, this game is amazing, and I really love how it works perfectly on my low end device with zero lag whatsoever. So I basically have zero complaints about the game but what I will suggest is maybe allowing us to type in chat when playing multiplayer. And also it takes so long to find a player online (maybe because I live in Africa that's why it takes so long but I don't know why). Anyways the game is peak, and keep up the good work.
Arcaea is absolutely fantastic and deserves more attention, the song selection is amazing and the art is genuinely phenomenal. The gameplay takes some time to get used to, but once you get the hang of cross hands and arcs it's really addicting. Most things beyond the free pack is paid but even then it's absolutely worth it. It's a hidden gem I wish more people knew about this.
I was recommended this game by a friend, it did not disappoint! I'm a big fan of rhythm games and this one syncs very well. I see a lot of people in reviews complaining about pay walls and that the game is too hard lol. Story mode is locked and you have to pay for that, but everything else is free through farming and playing games. Overall this is a great game and they are very much more lenient than other "free-to-play" games I've seen. I do recommend!
One of the most perfectly mixed mixes just for you comes from Arcaea. This is an entirely new dimension rhythm game that promises to give players a unique experience. You seem to be lost in a fairy kingdom with low notes here. Arcade-style gameplay is both difficult and easy to create a lot of excitement for players as soon as they arrive here. Shake and control your screen now in a competitive war with the remaining beautiful girls.
