Thronefall is a highly acclaimed strategy tower defense game. Players must build various resources and defensive structures during the day and recruit brave soldiers to fight against the endless waves of enemies that attack at night. Defeat them and protect the core buildings of your kingdom. How long can you last? After each battle, players can obtain gold to recruit more troops. Facing different types of enemies in the later stages, players need to flexibly recruit crossbowmen, knights, etc., and build various arrow towers, gladiator schools, pumpkin fields, etc., to obtain more training and gold bonuses, helping players gain more advantages in later waves.
Thronefall is a strategy video game, with elements of tower defense games. The kingdom is centered around a great hall which the monarch must protect; they can defend it by spending gold to build walls, defensive towers, and other helpful buildings. The monarch can earn gold by building homes and farmland inside the kingdom, in addition to other economical structures such as mines and fisheries. Soldiers such as crossbowmen and knights can be recruited at barracks buildings, and can be positioned by the monarch around the level to protect certain areas from attack.
Once the monarch has finished preparing their kingdom, they can choose for night to arrive and begin their defense against the enemy waves. Aside from the defensive structures and units, the player can also protect the kingdom by attacking enemies with the monarch's weapons, which include a bow and a spear that possess their own special abilities. Completing a night by defeating all the enemies allows the player to regain all their destroyed buildings and units, and grants the monarch an amount of gold depending on the number of buildings that survived the attacks.

Build your kingdom during the day: Thronefall gives you daytime phases where you spend resources on useful parts of your base. You can place or improve walls, mills, towers, farms, forges, and other defenses. These choices shape how your kingdom handles the next night, so each upgrade has a clear purpose.
Defend against night attacks: Thronefall changes pace when enemies arrive after dark. You must protect important buildings while hostile waves grow more dangerous over time. Because each night has pressure, players need to think about where defenses are weak before the next attack begins.
Balance income and protection: You decide whether to improve your economy or strengthen your army and defenses. More income can help later, but thicker walls, extra archers, or better combat tools may be needed sooner. This balance gives Thronefall Android players a simple but meaningful way to plan each round.
Fight as a mounted hero: You are not limited to watching units from above. Thronefall lets you fight directly as a mounted hero, using weapons such as a longbow or charging into enemies on horseback. This active role makes defense feel more involved, especially when a weak side of the base needs quick support.
Replay maps with new setups: Thronefall supports repeat play through different maps, hero weapons, perks, unit choices, enemy modifiers, and challenge setups. After learning one layout, you can return with another build and test a different plan. This gives the Thronefall mobile experience more variety without adding heavy micromanagement.

Dynamic Day-Night Cycle: Master the flow of time. Spend your days planning and building, and your nights leading the charge against waves of invaders.
Intense Mounted Combat: Take direct control of your monarch on horseback. Ride into the thick of battle to strike down foes with precision swordplay or long-range archery.
Deep Economy Management: Experience an elegantly balanced financial system. Balance your gold wisely between expanding your borders and upgrading your military defenses.
Minimalist Design, Maximum Depth: Enjoy a streamlined strategy experience that removes tedious micro-management while keeping the tactical stakes incredibly high.
Diverse Enemy Archetypes: Adapt your strategy to counter a wide variety of threats, from swarming ground troops to specialized flying units and heavy siege engines.

Choke Points: Position your towers where enemies are forced into a narrow path. This maximizes the area of effect for your defenses, allowing them to hit multiple enemies at once.
Diversity: Use a mix of tower types. For example, combine archer towers for ranged damage with barracks for melee units to create a balanced defense that can handle various enemy types.
Upgrade Wisely: Instead of building many weak towers, focus on upgrading a few key towers. A single, fully upgraded tower can often outperform several basic ones, saving you resources and space.
Prioritize Early Collection: Focus on gathering resources as soon as possible. The quicker you accumulate gold and materials, the faster you can build and upgrade your defenses.
Analyze Your Strategy: After a defeat, review what went wrong. Were your tower placements effective? Did you manage your resources well? Identifying weaknesses helps you adapt.
Seek Feedback: Join Thronefall communities online. Experienced players can offer valuable insights and strategies you might not have considered. The game's minimalist aesthetic and engaging 3D environment design are often topics of discussion among players.
Avoid Overextending: While it's tempting to build many towers, expanding too quickly can deplete your resources. Always ensure you have enough reserves for unexpected challenges or emergencies.

Wow, 10/10!!! This is a perfect blend of economy, tower defense, real time battle and strategy, and battling. the graphics, sounds, and play are immaculate—it's easy to pick up, and hard to put down! I have been searching for a good mobile game for a couple months now, and this scratches my simulation/strategy craving I've been having. wonderful!!!
12/10 game. I have a soft spot for tower defense games where you play as combatant as well. You also control units in the game but it's not rts overwhelming type micro management, it's neatly executed. The maps are fun. The weapons. The perks. It's such a fantastic game. I have it on pc and it's so nice to have this on my phone now. The endless mode I can stay on for a very long time.
I'm doing this review after the first non-tutorial level. In short, this is a great game that delivers the experience you see on the tin. it has levels with waves of enemies and state independent economy and military installation while you run around during the night to join the fight. beyond that you unlock modifiers for added challenges which are optional and paired with optional perks. I could imagine extra things I would like to see but for now I got this on the play pass and I'm happy.
I am impressed. Epic RTS, light building sim elements, and tower defense all in one. The UI is super comfortable and intuitive. Your noble centuar and his blunderbuss melee attack is a joy to move around, the art works well, the theme, it all meshes into a great game. When you buy this game, you own it. It's an amazing but ancient concept that needs to be more common place in this failing world. No stupid micro transaction... no pay to play. A solid selling point to me is that it is offline.
Thronefall continues to impress as a streamlined yet deeply engaging strategy and hack-and-slash hybrid that challenges players to manage their kingdom’s growth and survival with razor-sharp precision. The game’s core loop—building and upgrading your kingdom during the day, then fiercely defending it through intense night battles—remains as captivating as ever. Recent updates have added more varied enemy types and new defensive structures, requiring players to adapt their tactics on the fly.
