Grow Empire Rome is a strategy tower defense game where players take on the role of a great leader of ancient Rome, developing their civilization and leading their armies to conquer ancient Europe, becoming the dominant force of the era. It offers players over 120 cities to conquer and thousands of building upgrades. You not only need to defend your cities but also choose from dozens of different unit types to build a powerful army and recruit heroes with special skills to attack other cities, acquiring more resources to upgrade your cities and hero abilities. The game is constantly being updated and optimized, with more new unit types, gameplay modes, and events to be introduced, bringing players a constant stream of new experiences.

Gameplay of Grow Empire Rome:

The core gameplay of Grow Empire Rome simply involves summoning invaders (in waves) and beating them back. To summon a wave of enemies, simply tap on the Next Wave button on the lower right to call the barbarians.

To summon your own men to the fray, tap on their portraits on the lower left of the screen. Summoning units takes up 1 charge of the bar: visible as a green gauge on top of the units panel: and you always start with 2 charges. These charges replenish over time.

Information is your ally in Grow Empire: Rome. While each wave of enemies does get harder, the game will tell you what unit types you’ll be facing during the wave. This means you’ll be able to deploy the most effective counter units to beat the invaders back. Each invader you kill also gives you some gold: used for unit upgrades: and experience, for upgrading your city.

Finally, be aware that every 10th wave is a boss wave, with the barbarians conducting a more organized assault as well as sometimes introducing new enemy types. There’s no penalty for failure though: if they break through your wall, you can simply try the wave again, or sit back and upgrade your armies first.

Strategies of Grow Empire Rome:

Spend your points wisely: Whenever you level up, you will receive XP points which you can spend in the General tab. Depending on how you play, you can choose to level up skills that synergize very well with how you want to deal with the game.I like the Wall Archers Damage and Wall Archers Range leveled up, as they go very well with the fact that I upgrade the Walls and Archers the most. This helps deal with incoming enemy troops even if my soldiers are dead or on cooldown. Try this out, and if you like it, keep upgrading the Archers and spend points in making them even more powerful.

Watch an ad to gain more gold: Every now and then you will be able to watch a short advertisement to claim some gold. This is available about every 3-5 levels and the gold you get increases, the higher you advance. I suggest that you watch it and claim all the gold that you can because it will help you level up your units and upgrade your soldiers. 

Invade a few territories to gain more gold: In the Map tab you can see some territories and their levels. You can start at level 1, 2 and go up to quite a lot. This is good for earning passive gold by the minute, because the more you conquer and upgrade, the more gold you will get. Each of the conquered territories can be upgraded to level 5 maximum, so I suggest that you do it whenever you captured it. Also, this is a great way to make profit while you are not in game, because it will count towards your offline earnings too. 

Find the perfect combo: For my play style, I have indeed found the best combo to help me defend the city under any circumstance. Firstly, I have upgraded the wall as much as I could, while also keeping the Archers somewhat leveled up. At the moment my wall is level 40, and the archers level 30, and that works really well with the General’s Skills which I have chose (Wall Archers Range and Wall Archers Damage). Along with these static units, I have also leveled up the Spearmen and I am sending them out to fight all the time, even if they don’t counter the incoming enemy. 

Player Comments of Grow Empire Rome:

The game is really good. But the loading time takes too long but part from that it's good. And again the diamonds, we suffer to get it. Me especially, l want to buy the Roman commander who's 400 diamonds but l can't reach that goal but the game always finds a way to bring challenging and tempting offers. But part from that it's good.

I genuinely love this game. This game runs so well considering the fact that my phone is as old as I don't even know yet the game runs so well. Perfect 10/10. I think that they should add some new features like if you a fail a rebellion your colony is actually taken over and you have to invade it to get it back. And also if you could explore inside of Rome and also do some raids.

So I played this game back in 2019 or 20 and I couldn't click on anything after recent install. If you have this issue, go to your app settings, click on this game, clear cache and clear data (if your Google account is linked to game your won't lose progress) then I forced stop. Reopened the app and everything is working like it should. Hope this helps.

Really loving it after the visuals update, the team a great job. And i have some suggestions. There should be stuff like population and population classes, growth as well like when growth is high, population increases and when growth is low, population decreases. As for population classes, there should be peasants which make up the levy units of the legion, medium/high class which make up most of the army like legionaries, hastati, principes etc. and an elite class such as generals, commanders.
