Starting up Ice Cream Inc. shows no main menu at all. After the developer is shown, you begin right away and the only tutorial given to you indicates where to press and hold in order to swirl out ice cream. There are three different-colored buttons to push near the bottom of the screen, indicating the different flavors available to you in the level. On the left side of the screen is a small picture of an ice cream cone model that you need to copy for the customer.

The ice cream automatically swirls onto the cone so what you actually have to do is learn to hold and release the button at the right time in order to get the number of layers for every order. Releasing the button doesn’t necessarily mean that the ice cream will stop coming down, only that the ice cream machine will cut off the swirl of soft-serve that it had been producing—meaning that if you release too late, another layer might get started and get points deducted off your work.

Whenever you finish a cone, you can choose to accept the coin rewards or double it by automatically decorating with toppings after you watch an ad. By level 11, you can hold down two flavors to mix them. The game also has a cone collection that lets to get new cones by buying them with gems you earn every 5 levels. You can also buy store decorations with the coins you earn.
