Characters of Jacksmith:

Jack Smith: As shown on the game cover, he is the main character of this game. His species is a donkey and his occupation is a blacksmith. They make various weapons and distribute them to the warriors. However, since he is a blacksmith, he cannot go into battle, and after a certain level, he uses his carriage as a mortar tank. He sets out to rescue the princess and can make weapons using various items and metals.

Scout: Jack Smith's friend and another main character. The species is a dog. I received help from Jack Smith in the past, and from then on, I became Jack Smith's best friend. Role as a scout in the game. Before the game starts, check the monsters and tell them their numbers and properties. While making weapons, his specific gravity becomes air, but in battle, he takes on the role of a mortar gunner and helps the warriors.

Dudley: The final boss of this game . The rat. He is the culprit who kidnapped Princess Liliana and started Jacksmith's adventure.

Pigarius Legion: The species has teeth such as pigs and wild boars. He is from Lowland in setting and is soldiers of the Plum Pedder Kingdom. Use the sword. In the game, there are about three Piggarius, but there is no performance difference. The same is true of the warriors below.

Clerkshire Clan: species chicken. Judging from the setting that he is good at archery, the motive seems to be Robin Hood.

Caprilock Clan: The species is a goat. He is from Caprilock and likes festivals. Just looking at their outfits, they are goats with Scottish tendencies, and if you click on them when they come out, they will fist fist.

Useful Tips of Jacksmith:

I wanted to do this for quite a while, but never really got around to it. I also wasn’t aware exactly how long this was going to take me, it wasn’t until I was like 18 hours in that I googled, only to find 1 person (on this sub) who had done it, with a time of 34h (there was another one, but when they posted they said they hadn’t yet gotten a gold star on all the Pike epic weapons). So… new world record I guess? Hahaha, I’m just kidding. The most difficult part of this whole ordeal was definitely doing the epic weapons 3 times each, none of the parts I needed would appear in the shop or drop in the battles.  As a matter of fact, the more I played, the shittier the shop seemed, it was quite frequent for it to not sell me new items, or just one or two from day to day, even if I hoarded money and bought the entire stock: the next day, almost the exact same thing would be on display.

If anyone else wants to attempt this, I have some recommendations:

Start making the epic weapons as soon as possible, it doesn’t matter if it’s not going to be useful for the monsters you gotta fight that day.

Keep track of what parts you need to craft each weapon (I made a list on paper, and would start crossing them), always check the shop and buy what you find, otherwise, who knows when it could appear again.

NEVER do weapons poorly on purpose. One day, for funsies, I decided to craft everything extremely shitty. Well, doing that erases whatever progress you had toward the weapon boost you were going for (for example, I was halfway to unlocking the silver boost, but it reset back to the beginning, ughhh)

Oh, and don't worry about getting your hands (hooves?) dirty, since your soldiers fight automatically at the end of the day. All you need to do is move your cursor around to collect the treasure enemies drop, which can be anything from crafting resources to gems. Gems can be spent on more materials in Gander's shop. As the game wears on you'll earn different types of catapult ammunition you can launch during battle with a click to deal damage and help you turn the tide of war.

Player Comments of Jacksmith:

Every day after Lego Club, I'd have to wait for my mom to come pick me up. It was the same ritual every time; for the next five to ten minutes, I would have one of the library's computers all to myself. And what better game to play than Jacksmith?I remember the first time I ever jacked. I was inexperienced, and lacked the proper etiquette and care when hammering my blade. I never got to 100%. But as I progressed, I began noticing my skills greatly improving. And not just at jacking, but gaming too.I went from a 0.25 KD on Donkey Kong Country: Returns' second boss, the Scurvy Crew, to completing the entire game in mirror mode. Without Diddy. And it all traced back to Jacksmith. My hand-eye coordination, my critique for non optimally-stretched bowstrings, my entire mental state was heightened to a staggering degree. And then I discovered that Jacksmith was on Steam.Immediately, memories of my younger years flooded back into me. I booted up the game for the first time in years, and it was like seeing your best friend after a long isolation.

m today: A first rate jacker, one who could hammer pegs just as well as I could hammer my own blade.

A slight shame that it's JUST a direct port of the original game, but it's an amazing game already, so I don't think it necessarily NEEDS any new content. Like another Review said, though, it would be kind of interesting if there was modding support. The Papa Louie games are effectively endless, but with Jacksmith being more of a campaign-based experience, once you've played the game once, you have no reason to play it again. I don't know if Flipline is going to read this review, but if you guys do, PLEASE consider making this game moddable, or, hey, updating it with some new content every once in a while.

Just as you guys, I spent hours in my childhood trying to beat this game, but because of time and lack of knowledge I was unable to get past zone two. This game is really cozy and fun for a short time while doing something else. Making powerful weapons, killing enemies and making stronger weapons is a fun game loop.It was also fun getting all the achievements, seeing the faces of the Goats, Cows and bulls after giving them a crappy weapon shouldn't be this fun, getting three clients in a row that want the weapon you are trying to get to gold really hit the right spot in my brain. The game can be a bit long in my opinion, and that's why I recommend doing it in short bursts, it can take five hours get to the end, around 10 to get everything. But nevertheless, is a great experience if you want to relive the flash era.

However, as you progress through the game, there are more and more options, which results in increasingly complicated orders. This is when Jacksmith begins to become more difficult. Don’t worry though, the difficulty increases subtly over time, so you will never be thrown a challenge that you are not ready for.One benefit of the increasingly difficult is that the game gets more fun along the way. More weapons and equipment means that you get to craft items that are more interesting and useful on the battlefield.

What kind of animal is Jacksmith?

Don’t underestimate this donkey, he is one of the most gifted craftsmen there is.Jacksmith also has a dog assistant named Scout. Final words:

Jacksmith offers unique experiences. However, the constant need for forging and strategizing means gamers could spend more time planning than they initially thought. That said, this is an exciting choice for those ready to craft on demand while battling threats and progressing steadily toward defeating the evil wizard, Dudley.
