Spider Man 3 PSP is an action-adventure game based on the movie, retaining most of the storyline while adding new side quests and missions. Players control Spider-Man in different suits to fight against villains threatening the city, using skills from different battles to end the fight before the city is overrun and protect its peace. The game also features a Conquest Mode where players must complete as many missions as possible within a time limit to earn more points and challenge their limits—how much prestige can they achieve in the city?

Gameplay of Spider Man 3 PSP:

Most notably the recycled cutscenes and similar story missions, as well as the open-world hub and challenges. In the Wii and PS2 versions, the black suit can be put on at will and works similar to Hypermode in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, although there is a cooldown period after using it, instead of a health cost. The black suit will enhance the player's attacks and health, but if the player uses it for too long, Spider-Man can be permanently corrupted by the black suit, leading to a non-standard game over. To free Spider-Man from the black suit, the player must perform a series of quick-time events to turn him back to normal. Much like Spider-Man 2, you have an upgrade system, where you can purchase unlocked upgrades as you progress. Upgrades are purchased with Hero Points. You earn these points by completing the main story missions, or the side missions. The black suit cannot be upgraded. Like other Spider-Man titles, there are side missions that can appear at random. These missions can range from muggings to delivering items such as fruit pies. The side missions however are activated through a radio transmission which gives you the option of doing said mission or not. This has never been done in any Spider-Man game before. Much like the next-gen versions, there is a crime wave mechanic, where on the overhead map displays the gangs through the city. To lower the crime wave, you must complete combat tours where you have to complete tasks similar to the side missions of the game. As you progress the combat tours the game will lose control, giving the NYPD an advantage. If however, you ignore the combat tours the gangs will take over more parts of the city as well as other gangs. This will affect the open-world hub with a new environment mechanic. Similar to Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man, there are collectables. The only collectables you can find however, are the Meteorites and Spider Emblems. These are scattered throughout the city. Spider Emblems can only be found once you complete the story missions. Once you find them all you will unlock the black suit. The Combat System is much more similar to Ultimate Spider-Man than Spider-Man 2, such as lacking mid-air combos from Spider-Man 2.

The primary features for the Wii version are motion controls. By flicking the Wii Remote & Nunchuck, you can perform various actions such as combat, and one of Spider-Man's trademark abilities: Web Swinging. There are also certain mini-games tailored to the motion controls. This can range from ridding a bomb, to completing quick time events. The PSP version is full-on port of the PS2 version with an extra feature exclusive to the handheld known as "Conquest Mode". Conquest Mode is an extra mode where you have only a very limited amount of time to go around the city and complete challenges. These range from combat tours to delivered items to protecting civilians. The more challenges you complete, the more hero points you earn. Once the time is up you are given a score and you return to your last save. You can go back to it at any time to get a higher score. If you think you're done with Conquest Mode, you may go to the Daily Bugle to end it and return to your regular game. Conquest Mode can be accessed via the title screen or Scrapbook.

Strategies of Spider Man 3 PSP:

To dominate Venom you need to change your strategy many times. (Do combos with strong hits at the end)

Venom starts out normal. He usually goes for one hit at a time, but he hits you so fast you need to be really careful. Bait him in to miss then quickly hit him with a 3-hit combo and evade (You can start the combo from the air bit he sometimes catches you). Repeat this to get him to second stage.

In his second stage his suit is out of control with purple smoke and stuff coming out of it. Here he goes for a full combo which is easy to dodge. After he misses his last hit (which I think is a straight punch) quickly move in and hit him with a 4-hit combo. You can get lucky with a 5-hit combo, but it is a bit risky. Here you can also attack from the air but you know the drill. Repeat till he goes to his third stage.

I his third and final stage he goes crazy. You can not attack him here. He lunges and chases after you. If your in the first battle get close but not to close and wait for the event buttons to show on screen, press it and Harry will take him down. I the second fight you need to run to the big piece of metal in the corner, press the event button and send sonic waves to venom.

When fighting Venom and Sandman. You can beat sandman as easy as... well sand? Anyway when you go and fight venom the first part is easy but when the purple stuff comes out it is hard because he avoiders all of your attacks. So what you need to do is jump and hit X. The web will come out and you will hit him. Then jump or dodge him and do it all over again. Then do the same thing the second time when your fighting him. 

First press A to aim at deferent spots of his body, aim at his head and throw a bomb at it.Then the game will say press RT, press it and do the button sequence. When finished press A to aim at his arm and shoot the water at the left arm first when it falls of do the same to the right arm then the head.Then Harry will stop and glide back to him. Go up higher than him keep going around and throw the bombs at him. When his life is there is a button sequence then another.

How To Beat Venom.Okay, first go into your Hero Upgrades and see if you have Earth Breaker. If you don't have Earth Breaker, go do Crime Patrols and beat up a whole bunch of gangs to get enough experience to buy it. Okay, back to Venom, when you first face Venom he's pretty easy and then it starts to get harder when he turns on The Black Suit. Venom will throw a series of punches, you need to back off when this happens. When Venom throws his last jab, that is when you use Earth Breaker(press Z then hold A.) If you keep on doing this, You'll get into a very good rythm but be careful because if you do this too early or too late, He'll throw a punch at you that will take a lot of health away!! After a while, Venom will get very mad and he'll come after you!! Just press A to dodge, throw him up in the air and Harry will do the rest. Just keep on doing what I told you. After you defeat Venom, You will face Sandman. After you defeat Sandman, Venom will want a rematch, Just use Earth Breaker on him and you'll be fine. When Venom gets to the second stage of The Black Suit, Harry won't be there instead you will have throw a lumber at him!!

Miles better than that stupid Batman clone called Amazing Spider-Man. The web swinging is great, you can reach ridiculous speeds like over 200 miles/hour. Great combat system with lots of combos, special attacks and web attacks. You can yank an enemy in the air and use him as a missile, pile-driving him into the ground and sending other enemies flying. Side missions will make you punch yourself in the face from the nail-biting difficulty, and that's a good thing.

If theres one thing I can say about Spiderman 3, its that its one of the greatest movie games ever. It is signifigantly underrated. Unlike the Superman Returns game, you can explore this large open world and play missions whenever you want. Theres a larger amont of content and the graphics are even better. The controls are also very responsive.

Spider-Man 3, while not a radical departure from the excellent foundation laid by its prequel, will amaze Spider-Man and action games fans alike. The sequel fixes the major complaints of the first game (generally the repetitive nature of side missions) and polishes everything up.

The game is not only bigger, but also better in almost every way.  The graphics, the animation, the lighting, and the overall storyline cohesion – the whole package is vastly improved.  There are some issues such as repeating voice work, framerate stuttering, and a hyperactive camera while indoors, but the rest of the game more than makes up for these shortcomings.
