Introduction

Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is an action-packed endless runner featuring levels set across diverse worlds. Players ride a unicorn, dashing through the air and battling various monsters and giants along the way; defeating these foes and completing levels earns rich rewards. The game offers extensive customization options, allowing you to create a unique unicorn by mixing and matching different bodies, wings, and tails, as well as selecting from dozens of power-ups to adapt to the challenges of each level. Beyond the combat, the journey also offers encounters with cosmic wonders and magical creatures, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience.

Maps of Robot Unicorn Attack 2:

Sky World: This is the starting world. Modeled after the original Robot Unicorn Attack, it is a world of rainbows, sunshine, and harmony, with bright happy colors and warm, desert-like pink rock. The giants here are golems of the red rock with huge white crystals jutting out of their backs. The fairies are pink, and glow with a warm brightness. In the background, you can see below a strange, alien landscape dotted with strange stony, egg-like formations and maze-like stones. The sky is a warm pink color, a kind of sunrise. The clouds are pale and fluffy above. If you survive long enough in your run, you will see huge battle whales drift by in the background, swimming through the sky, with huge horns on their heads. If you survive even longer, you will get to see a gigantic battle seahorse also bearing a horn, and carrying on its back a huge castle that it flies with easily. Surrounding it are many small baby seahorses that fly through the sky around it. Far in the distance you can occasionally see a distant floating castle unveiled through the clouds, with water pouring freely from the floating mountains in the sky.

Ice World: In many ways, the opposite of Sky World, this land is a frozen, barren place that is nevertheless full of brilliance and beauty. Everything is covered in snow and ice, the ground a gigantic frozen tundra. Unlike Sky World, Ice World is in a perpetual night, and the stars shine brightly. In the sky above glows a sinister, cracked, lava-ridden planet, looming as though it is about to crash into the ice below. This may be an outside view of the nearby Lava World. In the background there is either two huge ice wolves howling together, or else a giant barn owl staring at the unicorn as you run. There are also the snowy versions of the battle whale and seahorse in this world that will drift by as a reward to you for surviving long enough.

Lava World: Whereas the first two worlds clearly seem to belong to Team Rainbow, Lava World is definitely a world controlled by Team Inferno. Fire rains down from the heavens and lava spews from every rock surface. Lightning flashes through a sky full of war whales covered in spikes and skeletons of whales who died. The battle seahorses of this world are draconic creatures oozing molten rock, carrying cocoon-like boulders on their backs. Of all the worlds, this one has the most laser geysers in it, and all the Solar Beams of the Giants are bright red. The fairies also emit a bloody color in their light, and only the crystals containing star force, that most powerful and precious commodity in the Robot Unicorn universe, remains in its pure form.

Features of Robot Unicorn Attack 2:

The basic task remains simple: run automatically, leap between platforms, and dash through hazards before a collision ends one of your three “wishes.” Glass barriers and enemies that fire sunbeams complicate the route, while combining jumps and dashes sends the unicorn into flight. That aerial move gives the sequel more flexibility than the original without burdening it with a complicated control scheme.

An interactive tutorial explains the tap controls, so newcomers don’t need any familiarity with the first game. This makes Robot Unicorn Attack 2 best suited to players who want short, score-focused sessions rather than a runner with a story or deep mechanical progression. The immediate rhythm is easy to grasp, but success still depends on timing and learning each course.

Blue stars collected during runs pay for power-ups and upgrades. The unicorn can also be rebuilt with different bodies, wings, horns, manes, and tails. Customization fits the gleefully excessive visual style, though accumulating desirable parts creates pressure to supplement earned stars with in-app purchases.

The most useful defense against repetition is the changing level design. Courses receive a different arrangement each day, forcing players to relearn the position of platforms and obstacles instead of memorizing one permanent route. The running itself doesn’t fundamentally change, but the rotating layout keeps timing from becoming entirely automatic.

There is also a global daily challenge built around Team Rainbow and Team Inferno. Players choose the good or evil faction and contribute to the competition, with in-game currency awarded for winning. It isn’t elaborate multiplayer, yet it gives individual high-score attempts a broader purpose and turns the game’s sugary good-versus-evil theme into more than decoration.

Useful Tips of Robot Unicorn Attack 2:

To advance more quickly, use unicorn tears to skip unrealistic goals: To level up, you need to complete certain goals that have corresponding stars. Some goals which only comprise one or two stars, are downright impossible to achieve. Depending on how much unicorn tears you have, you can opt to skip some of these goals to earn the required stars to finish a level. Others which you find doable, you can stick to and achieve.

Upgrades are mainly aesthetic: While some unicorns differ in speed, the rest of the upgrades such as the mane, tail, etc. do not appear to significantly improve performance. Buy them if you like to have different horses in your stable, but don’t count on the performance enhancing come ons so much. However, to be sure, try out different horns and wings and the like that offer greater length or reach – even though they might not match your unicorn’s overall look.

Join Team Inferno. Choose Team Rainbow if you want to be the underdog: Joining the community gaming competition is a great way to earn additional unicorn tears. Mind you, however,  there are far more players on Team Inferno, increasing your chances of earning rewards at the end of the day. However, since it’s the rainbow that is the minority, you can opt for Team Rainbow if you want the added challenge of somehow beating Team Inferno. Just take note that once you choose a team, it will be expensive for you to change sides later on.

Don’t pay your way to unlock The Ice World, just work on it: The Ice World is a gorgeous theme that is available to those who make it to Rank 15. If you’re tempted to go straight to Ice World, you will have to fork over a lot of unicorn tears (which is a lot of real world money). Save your unicorn tears instead and work your way up via Tip No. 5.

When you reach around 14-15k points, watch out for the Giant Golems: Knowing when the big guys will start to show up will help you prepare. Have the dash button ready to plow your way through these giant golems, and keep going til they disappear and reappear at a later point.

Player Comments of Robot Unicorn Attack 2:

If you want a solid freemium endless runner that's not wrapped up in strong arm design and doesn't take itself too seriously, one of the best has made a sequel, and it is damn good.

Lisa Frank's wet dream. This game keeps you going for many hours, powered by the desired to trick out your steed in whichever way possible. Eventually you hit a barrier where the game doesn't offer much new material, but as a free game, there is no reason that you shouldn't own it.

Never got around to playing the first one but I was always curious about it. When I heard this sequel was free I jumped on the opportunity to play it. It's a surprisingly deep infinite runner with tons of unlockable content, gorgeous graphics, and a fantastic soundtrack. The core gameplay is fun and addictive, and the amount of customization options you have over your unicorn lets you tackle the situation as you see fit. Completing bonus objectives levels you up and unlocks more content. You can also choose on online team to compete for. If your team wins the challenge you get bonus unicorn tears which act as currency. My only complaint with the game is that you have to purchase additional songs and that adds for other games pop up occasionally. This is an incredibly addictive and fun mobile game, and when you consider that it's free to play there's no reason not to play it.

If there is a bad thing about the game, and this might be reaching a bit, it would be the occasional trouble we had with-- for lack of a better term-- the "hit detection." That is, one would think that jumping onto a patch of floating land with a sloping incline would allow you to keep running, but that's not always the case for no particular reason that we can see.

Final words:

Graphically, Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is spectacular. The settings are drawn with exquisite style, and the unicorns you can use are designed with impressive care and attention to detail. The soundtrack is also excellent.Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is a super entertaining game that was well received as a webapp and is now making the jump to Android. Without a doubt, one of the best games to fill up short chunks of free time.
