Story:

In 1986, gangster Tommy Vercetti (voiced by Ray Liotta) is released from prison after serving a fifteenyear sentence for murder. His boss, Sonny Forelli (Tom Sizemore), seeking to establish drug operations in the south, sends Tommy to Vice City, Florida, to oversee an important drug deal alongside crooked lawyer Ken Rosenberg (William Fichtner). However, the deal is ambushed, with Tommy and Ken barely escaping. An infuriated Sonny orders Tommy to recover the drugs, alongside the money Sonny gave to him, under threat of consequences. Seeking information, Ken points Tommy towards retired army colonel Juan Garcia Cortez (Robert Davi), who helped set up the exchange. Expressing regret for the ambush, Cortez promises to find out who masterminded it. Cortez also serves as a mentor to Tommy, encouraging him to act increasingly independent of Sonny and the Forelli family.

While investigating, Tommy meets various contacts who offer him aid, including band manager Kent Paul (Danny Dyer), who maintains connections with the city's criminal underworld; freelancer Lance Vance (Philip Michael Thomas), who aided in the deal and lost his brother in the ambush; and Texan business tycoon Avery Carrington (Burt Reynolds), who enlists Tommy's help with several deals. Cortez also puts Tommy in contact with drug lord Ricardo Diaz (Luis Guzmán), who employs him and Lance, but soon voices his suspicions that Diaz organised the ambush. Upon further investigation, Lance discovers this to be the case and, against Tommy's advice, tries to kill Diaz, only to get himself captured. After Tommy saves Lance, they invade Diaz's mansion and kill him.

With Diaz dead, Tommy takes over his assets and, at Avery's suggestion, works to expand his new criminal empire by forcing businesses to pay him protection money and buying out nearly bankrupt companies to use as fronts for illicit operations. Tommy establishes his own gang to protect his businesses from rivals, and provides assistance to several prominent gang leaders in the hopes they will support his expansion. Meanwhile, Cortez is forced to leave Vice City after being tracked down by agents of the French government. Tommy helps the colonel fend off an attack on his yacht as it departs the city, and Cortez trusts Tommy to look after his daughter, Mercedes (Fairuza Balk).

Eventually, Sonny discovers that Tommy has gained complete control over Vice City's drug trade without cutting the Forellis in. Enraged at Tommy's independence, he sends mobsters to forcefully collect money from his businesses, but Tommy defends them and kills Sonny's men, severing his last ties with the Forelli family. When Sonny flies to Vice City himself to collect what he believes he is owed, Tommy arranges a meeting at his mansion, planning to pay in counterfeit money. During the meeting, Tommy accuses Sonny of orchestrating the attack that led to his arrest fifteen years prior, and Sonny reveals that Lance has betrayed Tommy and informed the Forellis of his plot, having felt inadequate in Tommy's presence since his rise to power. A shootout ensues, during which Tommy defends his money from the Forellis and kills both Lance and Sonny. With the Forelli family destroyed, no one remains to stand in Tommy's way, and he and Ken optimistically discuss Tommy's status as the undisputed ruler of Vice City.

Useful Tips:

Side Missions are a fantastic way to earn helpful rewards that will benefit you throughout your time in Vice City. While it's worthwhile completing all Side Missions, you will definitely want to complete the Police Car Vigilante Missions first as getting through to level 12 will earn you a nice boost to your body armor protection  an increase to 150 damage protection to be exact.

In addition to the Vigilante Missions, you'll also receive an increase to 150 Health should you complete all ten levels of the Pizza Boy Missions.

Hidden throughout Vice City, you'll find weapons that spawn for free around the map. While it'll always be more efficient to visit a gun store, saving some cash  especially during your early game experience  will be a lifesaver. So whether it's picking up the Uzi from behind the Pay N Spray in Ocean Beach or grabbing the Knife by the Pizza store that's not too far from the Malibu Club, here's a complete list of all weapons and their spawn locations ingame.

After purchasing the Malibu Club and completing the Side Missions that eventually end with The Job, you'll unlock the ability to receive missions from Phil Cassidy. After completing Phil's two missions  Gun Runner and Bombshine Saigon  you'll unlock Phil's Place in Little Haiti that allows you to purchase cheap weapons from him. Just by viewing the purchasable weapons below, you'll want to unlock Phil's store as soon as possible.

Want to snag some free weapons and body armor? Consider collecting the Hidden Packages that have been scattered all across the map. Should you happen to collect specific amounts of these packages, you'll unlock free Body Armor, FlameThrowers, Miniguns, a Rhino Tank, and even a Hunter Helicopter.

Unlike other GTA games in the series, there are no consequences for visiting the second island before the bridges finally open up  these bridges are initially blocked following a hurricane warning at the beginning of the game. Visiting the second island can be done in two ways before it's actually unlocked.

GTA: Vice City is worth buying, but I think this is the first actual killer app Netflix has to get people onboard its games initiative. Having the original GTA: Vice City would have been enough, but this release is actually better than the PC and console versions in almost every way. I don’t even think I’ll go back to those versions without the Classic Lighting option. The original game is a timeless classic, and my favorite GTA game, so I’m glad we now have a great version of the remake on mobile alongside the original which is still available.
