Batman is a narrative-driven action-adventure game where players step into the shoes of Batman to navigate various story events and dialogue choices; the decisions you make determine the direction of the plot and the nature of subsequent investigations. Furthermore, every character possesses unique skills and interpersonal dynamics, and your choices shape how friends and foes perceive you, adding depth and engagement to the gameplay. The game has also been optimized for mobile devices to better suit mobile players' habits, ensuring a superior gaming experience.
The player takes the role of Batman, both as the superhero and as his alter ego Bruce Wayne. The playtime is split evenly between them, though at times the game will offer the player a choice of whether to approach a specific situation as Wayne or as Batman. Despite differences in continuity, Batman fits closely with the comics, but his personality and actions are determined by the player's decisions. He can either be a much more traditional and inspiring hero as Batman compared to the other versions of the Dark Knight or a much more aggressive and colder character than how he is usually portrayed. The game's narrative offers a "fresh interpretation of the universe set in current times, not tied to any existing iteration of Batman in games, film, or comics", according to Telltale. The game is set a few years after Wayne decides to become Batman, giving them flexibility in their writing and gameplay to give the player some control on how they want to play the character without ties to any established narrative. The game features a branching narrative, similar to previous Telltale games, giving the player options in approaching a situation and having that choice affect later events in the game. The game includes action sequences that are resolved similar to Telltale's other games, using quick time events. The series also includes investigation sequences, allowing the player to use Batman's detective skills to progress the story.

For every move there is a reaction, as in previous Telltale Games games; each episode is jam-packed with scenarios highlighting Bruce Wayne and also his secret identity. Bruce Wayne’s personality is frequently impacted by the decisions made while acting as Batman, and vice versa. Throughout the entire series, there is a clear conflict between the two identities, with Wayne’s closest friends and family members (such his devoted butler and lifelong family friend, Alfred) frequently eager to call into question his morals.
It draws inspiration from the film noir aesthetic found in The Wolf Among Us. Telltale has created a gritty and violent plot for this series that is a wonderful fit when applied to the Batman universe. Darker elements, such as corruption and cruelty, are present in Gotham City to support this and amplify the unrest. These major topics are addressed on many levels by Bruce Wayne and his alter ego over the whole series.
Batman from the Telltale Games studio is mostly a story-based game, meaning most interactions with the environment are accomplished through selecting the appropriate conversation choice. However, action scenes that need interaction through the usage of a certain button, button combination, or mouse button arise during gameplay. The dedicated chapter has all of the controls, and underneath you’ll find some helpful information for those for whom Batman is the first title from Telltale Games.
The major way to interact with other characters. The choice of the adequate answer results in various consequences. It is obvious, that an independent character will respond for every answer chosen by us, fitting to the course of the conversation, but there are situations, where the individual moments are more important than others. Aside from the adequate attitude towards the protagonist, some answers can be remembered by the adversaries and they can refer to them in the further parts of the episode or next episodes.
Additionally, in some cases, we are left with a major choice, which can influence the events in the further parts of the game. In such cases, most of the time we have more time to decide, but in those cases it is better to stop the game, and think about the eventual consequences.

A twist on the story we all know; not the same old same old. Was a very fresh perspective on a very old franchise. (probably worth playing for that alone)
A less emotionally constipated take on Batman
Literally the best penguin costume to date in any media, in my opinion.
Batcat. Sure he's a playboy, but who isn't a sucker for Batman and Catwoman's complex relationship?
I did have fun.
Some of the voice options seemed out of character to the point I wanted to restart levels for tripping on "bad" options. From the first moment Bruce snarked at all of his guests that "his wine was worth more than they are" I realized I'd have to be careful which choice I made. (and not in a meaningful way).
Production quality; high end machine on latest Nvidia drivers, it locked up once and had framerate stuttering issues in multiple places. The transitions between scenes were clunky and obvious at times. Not up to par with previous Telltale titles, but it is playable. Not enough instances to not play it, just very distracting when they crop up.

The gameplay here is pretty much what you would expect from Telltale with a little bit more of an emphasis on action. You're Batman here and you're kicking bad guys, you know, but the real deal of the game here comes down to 2 things: being a detective and being Bruce Wayne. I was surprised on the emphasis of being a detective here in this game, but it's pretty refreshing as a hardcore Batman fan. I admit it's pretty cool and it works very well.I just like playing as Batman, walking around, looking at clues and figuring things out. It's nice!I would say if you are a fan of Telltale games and definitely if you're a fan of Batman give this a shot! 7/10.Shadows Mode? Well.. the difference is obvious: if you could not care less about black-and-white-with-noir-effects, there's no reason to buy it.
Telltale Games brings new way of looking on one of the greatest successes in comics industry - Batman. I consider myself as a dedicated fan of DC's Batman series, at least of their cinematic and gaming execution, and after reading some of the reviews on this product I didn't get my hopes up and waited long enough before purchasing the game. Do I regret it? No way. This performance exceeded my expectations and I'm more than satisfied. There is everything - friendship, romance, treachery, character development, new features and this game showed me the view on Gotham and Wayne family I've never seen before. So where's the catch you ask? If you are into DC, as I am, you would probably know the TV series Arrow, the younger copy of Batman. Arrow and Batman do have much in common but there are still many differences between them, especialy in their behaviour. So what did the developers do? It's easy, they didn't capture the Batman's, Bruce Wayne's, persona right. They just took Arrow and set him into Batman's story. Does it matter? If you ask hardcore Batman fans, for them yes, for the rest of the public, not so much. In my opinion Telltale just brought a new way of looking on Batman as a hero and a man shadowed by the ghosts of the past.
Man, i swear, games like this one, really makes me miss Telltale. Even if the whole "Your choice matters" thing was mostly BS, they knew how to make an engaging story, with interesting characters, and some really great dialogs. They proved that graphics aren't everything. And they deserve some respect for their work. I really love Batman, as character, but this Batman, from Telltale, might be one of my favorites.
Batman puts you inside Bruce Wayne's fractured psyche as choices shape Gotham's future. This mobile release offers Episode 1 free and lets players purchase Episodes 2–5 as an in-app multi-pack, so fans can experience a full season of story, detective work, and action setpieces. Players who enjoy choice-driven gameplay and cinematic presentation will appreciate the moral consequences and tense character interactions.
