Useful Tips of PVZ 2 Reflourished:

I’m not saying I’m an expert or anything, but I’ve been playing PvZ2 since it released in 2013 and am able to get through most of it/Reflourished without losing (except for ~5-10 levels that are considered the hardest ones). Here’s my advice:

Generally you want 2 columns of sun producers. Regular Sunflowers start to become majorly outclassed beyond Lost City, you’ll need to use Twin Sunflower, Sun-shroom, Primal Sunflower, or Moonflower.

Stalling plants are important. PvZ2 spawns the next wave of zombies when the current wave is at 50% HP. To give yourself time to set up sun producers and prevent getting overwhelmed, you need to stall the zombies as much as possible. The base game offers 3 main stallers: Iceburg Lettuce, Stunion, and Stallia. I am basically always bringing at least one of these per level.

It helps to have a cheap early game killer as a way to get through the first 3-5 zombies that show up. Potato Mine works well up through Far Future, but after that you’ll need more firepower. Puff-shroom, Celery Stalker, and Shadow-shroom are excellent options. The idea here is to kill the first and second zombie as slow as possible. These plants help so you don’t have to waste 150 or more sun on the first zombie, which will then also speed up the waves (see #2) because you now have a ranged attacker.

For main attackers, I am usually bringing 2 per level. There’s a ton in the game, so you really have to look at the zombie preview to determine what you need. The rest comes from experience, but you need to know what plants synergize well. Crowd control/pierce, stalling, lobbed vs. straight shooter, raw damage, sun cost, etc. are all factors you need to think about. For example, you probably wouldn’t want to pair Citron with Winter-melon in most levels. Their combined sun cost is far too high to set up reliably. Citron is better paired with something like Fume-shroom. Fume-shroom will pierce throw multiple zombies and weed out the weaklings while Citron can deal with the high HP threats. There’s literally hundreds of good combos, so play around with them. When in doubt though, Laser Bean is usually a free win lol.

Almost always bring sort of wall. Wall-nut is good for the early game, but past Wild West you’ll need Infi-nut, Chard Guard, Endurian, Primal Wall-nut, etc. Walls can also be considered stallers, since most of them don’t attack. If you find yourself low on space, maybe buy Pumpkin with gems and bring him.

These are just some general tips. As an overarching rule, the zombie preview is your best bet. If you see a big threat (Jester) bring something to counter it (Lightning Reed, Laser Bean, Fume-shroom). Good luck!

Yeah, it’s like the ideal PvZ2 experience—at least in my opinion. You get all the same levels as the base game, but without all the intrusive microtransactions, the plant leveling system, the ugly new plants, and the pointless updates. Plus, it adds well-designed new levels and worlds. It basically strips away everything bad about the original PvZ2 and improves on the good parts. The developers really put effort and care into the game, unlike the studio currently behind the base version. It’s really, really good. Infinitely better than the base PvZ2.

Gameplay-wise, it retains key mechanics and design choices from said game like the 50-Sun Meta, Plant Food, Power-Ups and the faster-paced gameplay. However, there are still a few key tweaks here and there. Worlds retain specific levels that were removed from the original, such as world-specific Brain Busters and the Expansion Level. There are also various nerfs, buffs and reworks applied to a number of Plants for the sake of balancing or making them more interesting. In addition, it also features a plethora of new Plants, new Zombies and even fully-realized Worlds and other Levels.In terms of the story, it serves as both a re-imagining and continuation of the events of It's About Time.
