Star Knightess Aura is an anime novel, the main character is a girl with an unusual name Aura. She finds herself in a fantasy world called Roya. The heroine is cursed by the Demon King himself. Her job is to fight otherworldly monsters every night. In doing so, it is very important not to lose yourself. A girl suffers from insanity and begins to consider herself a completely different person.Star Knightess Aura gameplay is conventionally divided into three parts. Each part is one game day. You can explore the world, help people or vice versa, ask them for help. Aura gets spoiled in the game, so control is taken over by the girl Alicia. It tries to change the psyche of the main character. Therefore, the protagonist is transformed. She changes her appearance, behaves lewdly, and presents herself as a completely different person. The peculiarity of Alicia is lust. She shows sexual interest in every character she meets. The gameplay stands out not only for its erotic content, but also for the fact that you can watch the story unfold from multiple perspectives. In the course of the playthrough, you can make certain moral choices leading to different consequences. The game also features Aura's girlfriend, a girl named Rose, her boyfriend George, and a huge cast of supporting characters.
Each ingame day is structured into 3 parts.
The player controls Aura and can explore the world of Roya to track down and kill the Demon King. In order to become stronger, acquire funds, and advance her search, she can rely on her own powers or ask people for help. However, not everybody means well with Aura. Performing lewd acts and compromising on Aura's ideals by allowing innocents to suffer causes Aura to gain corruption.
The player controls Alicia, who uses Aura's corruption to change her psyche. This includes changing her interests, increasing her interest in fashion, changing her appearance (including hair style/color changes), changing her values (making Aura more selfish), and ultimately changing her sexual desire and love interests.
The player watches cutscenes displaying Aura's real self changing over time due to mental corruption. The cutscenes are told from varying character perspectives (Aura, her best friend Rose, her boyfriend George, and so on).
Aura, the Star Knightess: Aura embodies an indomitable spirit as she navigates through unimaginable challenges. Beginning her journey with a firm sense of justice and hope, she confronts both internal and external conflicts that make her one of the most relatable and dynamic protagonists in RPGs. Rose, the Loyal Friend: Aura’s best friend, Rose, is a vital presence in her journey. Loyal and strong-willed, Rose provides essential support and serves as a voice of reason amid chaos. Their friendship acts as an emotional anchor, reminding Aura of her true self and what she stands to lose.
George, the Troubled Lover: Aura's relationship with her boyfriend, George, adds depth to the narrative. He symbolizes Aura’s connection to her past, her ideals, and everything she strives to protect. However, as they face the darkness together, their bond is tested, leaving players uncertain about the future of their love.
The Antagonists: Star Knightess Aura features a diverse array of villains. From shadowy figures intent on exploiting Aura’s weaknesses to sinister entities that thrive on her suffering, these antagonists serve not just as obstacles but as catalysts for her transformation. Each villain presents a distinct threat, pushing Aura to confront difficult choices between maintaining her integrity and succumbing to darker temptations.

Okay now, before you get too excited by the very long changelog: The main contribution this week are the achievement implmentations by Trihan who busted his ass to finish them this week. With this we are ready for a closed beta test on Steam. I have already invited some individuals, just need to update the steam build tomorrow and we can get started on getting them release ready.
Then, after the big push for last month's release I had half of a vacation week, but also added a couple of things. First of all, the Artifact Workshop has two more artifacts:
Orb Of Air+, which provides you with extra Air (giving more flexibility of dealing with Underwater Areas without entering the Magic Academy) and a +1 to Storm power if Air Bubble II is active (providing you with extra value in case you did enter the Magic Academy and learned the fairly unpopular spell Air Bubble II).
Rage Guard, another status effect negation artifact, that can protect you from the ENRAGED state this time. Effectively cancelling half the effect of the Arms of Wrath curse or negating the demonic spell Ira... but it does mean leveling up the Artifact Workshop to level 8, meaning prioritizing it over the Trademond Workshop, or only reaching it very late-game.
And then, moving on to the epilogue production! I have mostly focused this week on the conceptual work, meaning I have planned out the scenes a bit. During this concept work, I realized that contrary to my claims of the game having only two endings "Victory" and "Defeat/Corrupt", I do believe we need two states for the Victory ending, similar to that of the Corruption Ending. There you can end the game either in a rather despair inducing state or a state of a hopeful note, and I think at least there should be similar states for the Victory Ending. So, here is a rough concept sketch of the flow:
For the most part, there will be one ending flow with optional triggered scenes and variations like with the Corruption Ending. For the final sequence however, there will be two final epilogue scenes. One, Victory Ending A, the other, Victory Ending B. The concrete trigger conditions are not yet clear to me, but I know that it will hinge on whether Aura will stay together with George.
Similar to how the Corruption Ending tracks a Resistance Power and a Demon Power variable, there will be a +George and a -George variable. The former for example will be influenced by the remaining Relationship Points (so the further into the corruption story you are, the more likely you will end with Victory Ending B, logically, right.) But also things like Lewdness and Cheating score will matter on the -George side, so it's possible to also trigger the ending variation without diving too deep into the corruption path, provided Aura has achieved sufficient sexual corruption.
I won't spoil too much about the pink marked event in the flow-chart, what I will say is that I decided to go with an ending where the connection between Earth and Roya is not cut immediately after Aura's victory, but rather fades away with time. So Aura is still visiting Roya, at less frequent intervals, and if certain sex partners are still alive they will trigger said scene. :)
I think that's all I want to say on my further plans on the epilogue, now it's mostly working it down. I did start with the first scene of the Victory Ending Epilogue Start sequence, where you can already kind of see the signals of the ending split. If you reach Appearance Competitiveness, Aura will have some struggles to fully revert back to her old self as some changes just adamantly stick around. Another variation of the scene is triggered if Elizabeth has been corrupted to the point of throwing out George, to show that even with a lot of things being "back to normal", many other things won't just go back with Richard's death.
Alright, that's it for this week, see you next week!
