Over the years, I've switched podcast apps several times for various reasons. I have been using Podcast Addict for a little over 6 years now, and loving it. They recently ads, and I wanted to leave a positive review because of how impressed I've been with the ad integration. Most developers implement ads in a way that hinders the use of their app... I've deleted many apps that did this. Podcast Addict showed that this doesn't have to be the case! This app's ads don't get in your way, they don't hide anything, they don't restrict your use of the app.

I was looking for a replacement for Doggcatcher after maybe years and Podcast Addict does all the things with a nicer interface and additional ease-of-use features. I love how easy it is to setup a "listen from the beginning" auto-downloads. Each setting (and there are a lot of settings) has a detailed explanation of how it works. Update 8/2/2025: I was able to subscribe! The author was very helpful. 6 months in, this player is AMAZING. Does everything I wanted and stuff I didn't even know.

I've been surprised and delighted by the functionality of this app. One of the most important features for me is the ability to mark previously listened-to episodes as complete in bulk, both from a specific episode forward and backward in time. I really appreciate that.

The bad thing about podcasts is the multitude of platforms. This one is on Apple, that one is on Spotify, etc. So, it's either installing ten apps or using one like Podcast Addict. The app gathers all the podcasts I was interested in from everywhere, and now I can listen to them comfortably. The interface is convenient, the paid version removes all ads (they are not too obnoxious anyway), and I haven't encountered any critical bugs so far. I highly recommend it!
