WebNovel is a popular online novel reading app with a vast library of novels and original works across various genres, including fantasy, romance, xuanhuan (a genre of Chinese fantasy), and adventure. It features built-in search, category filtering, and ranking functions to help users quickly find their favorite novels and add them to their bookshelf. During reading, users can freely adjust font styles, reading backgrounds, and page-turning speed for a comfortable reading experience and leave comments on content that interests them. For aspiring writers, the app offers a comprehensive development plan, allowing users to participate in various writing competitions and publish their work on the platform to attract more readers.
Diverse library across formats: WebNovel offers novels, comics, manga, manhua, and webtoons in one app. Genres cover Eastern fantasy with wuxia, xianxia, and xuanhuan, plus Western fantasy, science fiction, romance, mystery, and adventure. Popular picks include Solo Leveling in both novel and comic form, so you can follow the story in the format you prefer.
Fanfics and progression stories: You can read hundreds of thousands of fanfictions by community authors. The catalog also includes system novels, litRPGs, and progression fantasy where characters level up through clear goals and challenges.
Originals, translations, and named titles: WebNovel lists original works such as Supreme Magus, My Vampire System, and Shadow Slave. Translated selections include Library of Heaven's Path, Lord of the Mysteries, and She Becomes Glamorous After The Engagement Annulment. Readers who like comics can find Beauty and the Beast and When Beauty meets Beasts.
Write and publish on mobile: You can create an account, join writing contests, and publish chapters to reach readers who like your genre. A built in matchmaking system helps connect your story with interested audiences. Availability can vary by build, so check the WebNovel latest version for current options.

Keep the story simple: Webnovels have extremely simple long term goal-driven plots. That goal might be “become a god” or “win the love of a good man,” but they’re always built around simple and direct Spine of Action which naturally give the author a lot of room to expand and play with.
Keep it primal: The motivations of Webnovel characters (like any good fictional characters) are primal ones that any audience member will understand because they’re things that all humans feel. A desire for revenge, to protect their family, to uphold a personal reputation, to save someone, to gain love, to regain something which was lost, to make money, to build something greater- these are all primal motivations which let the reader and lead character connect.
Be your lead: Your lead character is a power fantasy alternate world version of yourself- own it. They’re you, simplified, slightly generic, and given a few positive traits for the audience to connect with. Don’t spend time agonizing over the perfect lead, just get in there and write your fantasy- because others have the same fantasies and will relate to you. Not only that, it’s what will make your character feel unique and different from the other leads- you are the secret sauce!
Make sure your lead is active: Your lead character is the driving engine of your story- they need to want something, and want it bad. They can’t be passive or unsure- they WANT it, and everything they do is in service to achieving that goal. Your story is about how the lead character achieves their goal- everything else is secondary.
Hit the ground running: You never get a second chance to make a first impression, so the saying goes. Good advice for writers too, as audiences have little patience for a story to warm up, especially in Webfiction. The central plot, motivation, character, goal and other essentials must be delivered in the first few chapters or the audience is going to be looking to get their entertainment fix somewhere else.
Stay audience focused: The goal of a Webnovel writer, first and foremost, is to entertain their audience, and give them that hit of dopamine they crave. Plot, character, fine prose and witty dialog are all secondary and just there to keep the audience happy, and no trick, no matter how cliche or crude is off the table if it keeps the audience coming back for more. Chapters must always end on dramatic questions, and no plot twist is too wild if the audience enjoys it. This isn’t writing War and Peace, this is producing fast junk food entertainment.

In my opinion, I think this is the easiest app I've used to read novels, before I was just sticking around with Anyflip, but this app genuinely surprises me, it had bundled everything into one, which makes reading novels flawless. And on top of that, the one thing that genuinely shocked me was the ads. I've never seen ads while reading while using this app, and I didn't expect that. Moreover, It even allows you to download the novels, so you can read them whenever you want to. Such a nice app.
I really love this app!! My favorite reading app so far. You can add however amount of books into your reading list and there are different and various genres for you to explore. You also get free reading for up to 24 hrs randomly (I think it's random). And there's always a way for you to gain fastpass to unlock chapters and events that you can get free equipment or gifts from.
Solid app, Uses points and the sort to buy chapters. Freemium Currency, runs well. Good for reading, my only actual gripe is how touchy the chapter change is. Pulling up to go to the next chapter can take a few times if you don't do a good swipe from the bottom of your screen. Thats literally my only gripe though. Go read "Investing in my Crippled Wife". I am enjoying it a lot.
There are so many wonderful choices for reading material. This has to be in my top 3 favorite reading apps, and one of the others is completely free, so that should tell you it's most definitely worth it. (Edit) I am still here, and the only difference between what I had said before compared to now is that Webnovel is now the #1 reading app in my top 3. I suppose I should also mention how amazing it has been to literally see with my own eyes how far certain authors have come from then till now.

Answer: This depends on how much you're capable of writing each day. Normallyspeaking, the recommendation is to update two to three chapters per day, andalso keep a few chapters reserved in your stockpile if possible. If you're a slowwriter who writes less than three thousand words per day, that will be moretroublesome. My advice is to try your best to increase your speed as well as tokeep a few dozen chapters in reserve so that you can begin by speedily updatingone chapter per day. After you sign a contract and receive a front pagerecommendation, you can update two chapters per day. Later, if you're no longeron the front page, I would recommend just updating one chapter per day. And ifyou're an incredibly quick writer who writes more than five thousand or evenseven thousand five hundred words per day, I would recommend that you controlyour own updating speed. Just updating four to six thousand words per day willbe sufficient, while you should save the rest of your chapters in a stockpile thatwill be useful for bringing out whenever you have a front page recommendationor if there's a popularity ranking contest.
Answer: As for tips, there's only one word: quick. You need to quickly enter yourstory and quickly have the readers self-substitute for the main character alongwith quickly showing off all necessary elements to your story. As for whatnecessary elements should be involved, I feel that it's simply the following: themain character's identity, current situation, and cheat. These three are necessaryso that the readers know who the main character is, what their specialty is, andwhat they're currently dealing with. With that as the foundation, it's best if themain character is currently being bullied, is in danger, leveling, or about to showoff some ultimate move. Simply speaking, after introducing the three mostnecessary elements, find someone to act as your main character's antagonist. Then, the main character can level up and have a small climax in your story witha face slap to the minor antagonist. Not only that, you should also arrange a short-term dangerous event, such as the main character having a death duel threemonths from now. Or, maybe one month later, the main character is entering amartial arts competition, so you can appropriately emphasize how important thisevent is to your main character and how much others look down upon him. But,thanks to the main character's cheat, he/she succeeds, causing everyone to beastonished. This way, the readers will look forward to seeing how the processgoes. Thus, once you, as the author, write in this state, you can relax a bit moreand develop your plot however you like, slowly introducing your other settingsand side characters, reaching your main plot.
That's probably because you're lacking on how to write descriptivedetails. You could try expanding this scene to at least two thousand words inorder to develop your writing skills. Try considering it from all sorts of angles andmethods. For instance, if you're writing a climax where your main characternarrowly wins and claims number one in the end, then do you have enoughdescriptions? Have you written about how important this number one rank is toyour main character? What benefits are involved with getting number one? Whatconsequences will there be if he/she doesn't obtain number one? How much didothers look down upon your main character beforehand? Was there a feeling thathe/she would definitely fail? Is someone acting condescending towards your maincharacter? After your main character wins, just how shocked is the opponent? What about the spectators' reactions? How delighted is your main character andwhat benefits were obtained in the end? How can these benefits help your maincharacter become even stronger? If you can write about all of these elements, youshouldn't feel like there's nothing to write about.
