Works well. Still learning the app but basics shows it it great. Is there a dark more setting? This is a 2022 update to my original review. This app works great. Can’t say enough about the trouble free service. Thank you! What could make it better is to allow the app to either mirror the phone display settings or facilitate a Dark Mode. When using at night, I get blinded momentarily when I check messages as I come into the app from a dark screen to the blazing white background. A utility that allows HUSHED to go dark would be fantastic! Also, the settings is a bit confusing as there are two sections that hold different aspects of that utility. Contracting all settings into one folder or place would be helpful. As I use this as a undisclosed 2nd line, having an ability to blank the screen from prying eyes by exiting the app when the phone is turned face down would be another wish-list item. Thank you Hushed for a good experience. 

I had a great experience with Hushed! They helped me port my number over from Verizon, and the whole process was quick, easy, and painless. No headaches or hassle! The Hushed Customer Service & Tech Team are fantastic! This Community of professionals have proven time and time again that their collective trouble shooting and problem solving skills cannot be replaced by AI. I encountered numerous technical errors on the App caused by my incorrect creation of a new signup with an existing Active account. The Hushed Team members "thought outside the box" and were able to resolve the issues after several collaborative attempts. A problem was inadvertantly created and the outcome was a positive resolution decided and controlled by us as a Community. So yeah, shout out to Bernardo, Michael, Milena & Wolf ; they are Rock Stars!

I encountered difficulties when attempting to change the email address associated with my account through the app on my Pixel phone. Despite several attempts, the issue persisted until the support team, with their prompt and thoughtful responses, resolved the problem by updating the application. It is reassuring to have a support team that demonstrates such efficiency and capability in addressing and resolving issues.

How do I receive verification codes or 2FA from third-party services (e.g. WhatsApp, Uber, etc.)? 

With verification codes becoming more common for most services, you probably want to use your Hushed number to keep your personal numbers from these services. Unfortunately, this isn't something that we can guarantee. So let's talk about what Verification codes are and how we deal with them.Verification codes are special codes used by other services to confirm your account ownership. This usually comes in the form of SMS, phone calls or emails when being sent to you. Each of these services has its own internal Policies that we cannot change. We respect the rights of other companies to operate with the best methods that they determine work with their own system. You will need to check with them to confirm if a VoIP number can be used. For this reason, Hushed phone numbers are NOT guaranteed to work with third-party verification due to blocks implemented by certain services, for example, Social Media, Banking, Email, Apps, etc.We do not intentionally block anyone from receiving these codes, but it's common that some services will prevent verification texts from being sent to certain phone numbers due to their own security policies. We'd ask that you contact the service you are trying to verify with to better understand their requirements and practices.

Is the text from a service, website, or bank?

If the SMS you are unable to receive is from an app, service, website, bank, or another similar usage, that text may not be able to send from the service you are trying to use.We at Hushed do not block these messages for paid numbers, but, some services do not allow some numbers to be used for the purposes of account verification, or account set-up, due to their own policies. This means that while you may be able to submit your Hushed number to that service, they may not be sending any messages to your number, in this case, we recommend reaching out to that service to ask about their policies of acceptable numbers to use.Examples of this include messages from Whatsapp, Facebook, Gmail, some banks, or messages that are sent from a shortcode number (ex. +12345).

Does your Hushed app pass the diagnostic test?

If the SMS message is not from a service or website, then there is troubleshooting that can be done to help!Please run the diagnostic test in the Hushed app by going to the main screen of Hushed > settings (in the top right corner) > Help & Feedback > Diagnostic Test > Run Diagnostic.If any of the steps fail then that could be causing this issue with SMS messaging.
