I have used EVERY Single note app out there. Trust me. Goodnotes, Notability, Noteshelf,Zinnia, Nebo, Noteful... etc. Noteshelf isn't perfect, but it is the closest thing to it. Bestpencil and natural handwriting experience, (seriously, I don't know how Goodnotes devssleep at night with the chicken scratch their app produces no matter what) - and themost versatile options to add things. The only improvements I could ask for would bebetter consistent loading of many bookmarks (I sometimes have to reload which takes allof 5 seconds for them to all show up) and I personally would prefer the color choices forthe pencil UI to be tucked away anywhere other than a floating window that annoys me.Oh, and the widget could use improvement both in selecting which notebook and theimage showing up in said widget. That's literally it. Those three minor issues are the onlyissues I have compared to my litany of frustrations with other apps that I won't wastetime listing here... (looking at YOU Notability with your inability to apply multipletemplates per 1 note STILL??). But really. Thank you Noteshelf people. Your app isliterally my second brain, my journals, all my notes, my diaries, and inseparable from mydaily routine. Please keep being awesome.

I've been using Noteshelf 3 for about2 weeks now. I use it primarily for work. I had nomigration issues from Noteshelf 2 as opposed to other users and the instructions wererelatively easy. I even had a question regarding a feature and customer serviceresponded within a few days therefore, my experiences are much better than severalother reviewers. I simply prefer Noteshelf2 to Noteshelf 3 for a couple of simple thingsthat I'm sure they can fix. 1)I can no longer name my bookmarks. I use Noteshelf like aregular book and I do a lot of reading along with note taking. When I use bookmarks, Iname them so I can easily look them up. Noteshelf got me through two Master's degree'swith this feature.2) Selecting pages: I used to be able to move/re-arrange multiple pagessimultaneously. I am no longer able to do that which takes up much more time. 3) I'munable to touch the 4 squares in the corner, view multiple pages simultaneously (morethan 3or 4), and quickly find the page I am looking for, as I can in Noteshelf 2. Noteshelf3 added some features like Al, but at a cost of taking away some very simple and usefulfeatures. I've been using Noteshelf since the original and will now have to consideralternatives as one day I'm sure Noteshelf 2 will all-of-a-sudden stop working with afuture update. It was good while it lasted. I'll keep using if these features are added.

I have used Noteshelf for over 8 years and recommended it to everyone. I would alwaysgive it 5 stars and is my go-to app for almost everything. But, NS3 needs more work toget my 5 star rating again. I Easily transferred from NS1 to NS2. For me Transferring toNS3 has been a pain. First, not all of my custom templates transferred, many of whichare related to my businesses. I had to transfer them one at a time. For the hyperlinks towork you need to be in read only mode...never had to do that before and seems readmode turns off all the time. Im not comfortable with the tool bars...technically 3. I wouldprefer the pen, highlight and erase bar be on same tool bar as colors. I would preferhaving my favorite colors remain open like NS2. The erase/return is also separate fromthe others. This last update just created more issues...but once they get it all together,hopefully all will be good. I love that they added Al. Now I just wish they would let me addstickers from outside vendors that better relate to my business. They do have very goodcustomer service, my reason for the 4th star. Hopefully soon, I'll be able to recommendthem again as being the best. 

Troubleshoot iCloud Sync Related Issues:

Of late, we've received reports concerning the following issues:

Changes sync between devices at a very slow pace.

Data does not appear on all the connected devices (may appear on iPhone, will not appear on another iPad, or vice-versa).

Sync speed is very slow between devices.

Notes re-download from iCloud every time you open the app.

You receive this error 'iCloud cannot connect'.

If you've also experienced the same, the steps below may help:

Firstly, turn on Auto-backup to any of your drives before troubleshooting via the 3-dot icon->Settings->Cloud & Backup->Backup->Enable Auto-Backup button->Choose Drive & format

1. Restart all your connected devices.

2. Ensure that iCloud Drive is enabled properly.

on iOS: Settings app->Your iCloud account-> Enable iCloud Drive-> Enable Noteshelf 3 app.

on MacOS: System Settings-> Apple ID->iCloud->iCloud Drive->Ensure Noteshelf 3 app is also selected.

3. Ensure that you use the same iCloud account on all devices via device Settings->Apple ID->iCloud and verify that the same username is shown on each one of your devices.

4. On iPhone, ensure that iCloud Drive & Noteshelf 3 can use cellular data via Settings->Cellular->Enable for Noteshelf 3 app.

5. Ensure that iCloud Syncing is behaving properly by putting a test file in iCloud Drive either through the Finder on your Mac or with the Files app on your iPad then check to see if the file syncs to your other devices.

6. Update your iOS/iPadOS, and/or macOS to the latest available version.

7. Airdrop a test file between your devices while you're logged into the same iCloud account on all devices to confirm that the iCloud Sync is set up & working properly.

8. Ensure that your iCloud account isn't running low on available space via Settings->Apple ID->iCloud->Check Account Storage from here.

9. Ensure that your device isn't low on space (as this may interfere with the proper downloading of notes) via Settings->General->iPad Storage for iOS & for Mac: click  on Menu Bar->About This Mac-> Storage.

10. Ensure that your device isn't low on battery as low Power Mode disables syncing to extend its battery life so, charge it until it is out of the Low Power Mode.

11. Disable the iCloud button in the Noteshelf 3 app via the 3-dot icon->Settings->Cloud & Backup->Use iCloud button, close the app, restart the device then re-enable the iCloud switch.

12. Check if syncing is prohibited by your business or your educational institution (if applicable) via Settings->General->Profiles button (if it is available)->check for any policy that says that documents in the cloud are not allowed.

13. Turn off iCloud Private Relay (iPadOS 15).

14. As a last measure, log out of the iCloud account setup on all of your devices & log in again (Settings->iCloud Account->Sign Out), provided you have ensured a backup has been saved for all of your apps already.
