FNAF 4 is a beloved survival horror game. In this final chapter, you play as an unidentified child facing attacks from numerous terrifying creatures and electronic dolls, armed only with a flashlight for protection. You must use the flashlight to carefully examine every corner of the room, ensuring no electronic dolls are lurking and that doors are properly closed, to survive eight nights of nightmares. As time passes, you will encounter increasingly more electronic dolls; you must remain calm and use their characteristics to your advantage to survive.

Gameplay of FNAF 4:

Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is a pointandclick survival horror game. Like previous games in the series, the player is tasked with surviving from midnight to 6:00 a.m. against homicidal animatronics. Unlike previous installments where the protagonists were security guards, the player controls a young child in his bedroom fending off nightmarish hallucinations of animatronic threats.

Unlike previous games in the series, the player does not have access to a network of security cameras, and must take advantage of audio cues in order to track the movement of the animatronics. The player is able to run around the bedroom, going between the closet, bed, and two doors. The player's only means of delaying animatronic advancement is a flashlight, which can be flashed in either the doors or the bed to scare them away. The player can also temporarily hold one of the doors shut at a time. If an animatronic enters the room or if the player encounters one directly, the player will be jumpscared and killed. On the fifth night, the enemies are replaced by a single animatronic known as Nightmare Fredbear, which is immune to being flashed with the flashlight, instead becoming more aggressive.

Inbetween nights, the player can attempt a minigame similar to red light, green light against a character named Plushtrap. If the player is successful, two hours are removed from the next night. Additionally, Ataristyled minigames are also playable, which provide insight on the lore of the series and is the source of the game's plot. These minigames are absent from mobile versions of the game.

Features of FNAF 4:

Not the usual security office that appears in this series. In contrast, opening the defense full of horror, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 appeared with the context in the children’s bedroom. Here, a boy is locked up with many of his toys. To him, it was not inanimate things but important and only friends. That room is also not secured by a security camera system that makes players extremely scared.

Entering the virtual world of Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, the player has the task of helping the character deal with the mysterious people hiding in the dark. The whole thing will take place at night. You play as a boy who defends himself before 6 a.m. The only weapon that supports the player is the flashlight. It helps you ward off evil spirits, which are lurking at the end of the corridor.

Nightmare Foxy, Freddies, and Nightmare Animatronics are the three strongest and most dangerous enemies for you. When they meet and gather into Nightmare, Freddy attacks you. Their energy is not medium, so by all means, you must prevent the meeting of those three monsters by regularly monitoring doors, wardrobes, and beds. Even close if necessary, otherwise there will be jumpscare, and the unexpected result will be game over.

Overall similar to previous versions, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 puts you in a horror war for five consecutive nights. With each night, there will be different haunting challenges and increase with each upgrade—a little difference between the enemies of the first four nights and the fifth night. Specifically, on the fifth night, players encountered Nightmare Fredbear:a convergence of the best, most dangerous of the 4 Nightmare Animatronics has appeared. Despite having the reputation of being only 1 against 1, the fierce and competitive level of this Thursday night is many times stronger.

Strategies of FNAF 4:

Not all sounds are important: The barking dog, cars driving by, the clank of dishes: none of these sounds matter. The ones you really want to listen for are the crunchy footsteps of the animatronics, the pitterpatter of tiny nightmarish feet, and of course the breathing. Everything else is inconsequential.

Don’t worry about where you think a sound is coming from: When you’re in the middle of the room you might hear footsteps off to the left, but that doesn’t mean you’ll find an animatronic on that side. Oddly, the orientation of the sounds seems pointless (except when you’re right up against a door). So rather than worry about which side you hear footsteps coming from, just know that you’re hearing footsteps and someone is moving around out there.

Keep moving: The first night isn’t as intense (you’re still probably going to die), but the further you make it the more “aggressive” you have to be. These animatronics will relentlessly come at you, and the only way to fight them off is to push them back with the flashlight or slam a door in their face. If you dawdle, you’re a goner.

Check the bed regularly: Things will get hairy if you go for too long without taking a look at the bed. make sure you remember to spin around and shine your light every so often: preferably after each “cycle” of checking the left and right doors.

Don’t worry about the closet for the first couple of nights: Nothing really happens with the closet on the first night but it won’t hurt to run up and check it once or twice. The same goes for the second night. By night three you’ll definitely want to check it regularly.

Never use your flashlight as soon as you reach a door: It’s tempting, but do not do it. You need to stand at the door to listen for breathing for a few seconds before shining your light, and if you hear any then slam the door shut immediately. Turning on your light when there’s an animatronic at the door is instant death.

Hold the door shut: If you think you hear breathing make sure to close the door, but don’t just close it real quick and then open it again. Instead, hold it shut for a few seconds and listen for the sounds of the animatronic walking away.

Make sure you hear the animatronic walk away before opening the door: It usually will only take a few seconds before they wander off, but make sure you listen for it (the sounds of walking over gravel). If you open the door and they’re still there, it’s all over.

After 150+ hours, I can say that this is without a doubt the best FNAF game. Not only does it have the creepiest atmosphere of them all, but it’s also the most complete game in the franchise.Unlike the others, which you can finish in around 2–3 hours without facing particularly high difficulty, this game includes 10 complete stars: 4 main stars, 4 red challenge stars with easier challenges, and 2 blue stars with extremely difficult challenges.What stands out the most is its atmosphere and the creepy designs of the animatronics, along with a sad story that helped expand parts of the LORE.Without a doubt, the best FNAF game created by Scott.10/10.

Now I think this is my favourite Five nights at Freddy game. The horror in this game is unbeatble. I also love the designs not better then the third game. I really dont have a lot to say about this game I just think that the volume sound thing is just spooky. You got to hear them breathing and it is just scary as hell. This will be a short review like the others I made you can check them out if you want to but onestly this is easly my favourite fnaf game. I recommend this game. Atleast try it.

This game is honestly great. I love the sound design, the character design, the environment, the ambience and the gameplay. Honestly my main problem with this game was that I was too scared to play it sometimes but it is a great experience and I would highly recommend. For sure the best game of the first four. The hardest nights are not only highly expansive (there are ten main challenges altogether) and some of the later ones are very difficult but quite fair overall.

This game is not only my favorite fnaf game, but it is also my favorite horror game aswell. Fnaf 4 leaves you on the edge of your seat the entire playthrough and does not give breaks when it comes to the scares. I loved the aspect of listening for the sounds instead of being in an office. Waiting at the end of the dark hallways, listening for sounds of breathing, was the best and scariest part of the game. One thing I would change about the game would be the chromebook gameplay.It is horrendous.

Conclusion:

FNAF 4 is best suited for fans of horror games, FNAF lore, tense mobile challenges, and players who enjoy learning enemy behavior through sound and pattern recognition. It works well when you want a scary game that does not waste time with long menus or filler tasks. Just maybe avoid playing it alone at midnight unless you trust your closet.
