Useful Tips of Dawnlands:

Here's some tips i can give based on my experience playing so far.

Save all your coins or gems to buy companion in shop.

You can get seeds in the wild (3rd biome). I used to buy seeds in the shop with coins until i learned this.

Always bring enough weapons of your choice.

If in case you need emergency weapons, you can craft using carried recipe or just build a workbench in the wild.

Build a tower inside 1st shelter then build a purification plaform on top of it if you want easy life purification. In my case i built my tower in the middle of the 1st shelter, 4 or 5 walls high then i built a 2nd purification platform on top of it. So whenever i purify, i just start the process and leave it. So far no monsters spawn to attack it. No sure if this is a bug.

Organize your chest. You can actually rename your chest so you what's it for. As of now i think ibhave around 50 chests and it's paim to check which one contains what. I only found our recently that chests can be renamed.

Give your used up weapons and armor to companions. When companions equip items, the durability doesn't decrease so no need to give them brand new equipment.

Always bring a torch when exploring at night. Equip the torch on left hand like a shield and your 1 hand weapon on right hand. Torch scares away the skeletons so you can free hit them. This works well against 1-2 skeletons. 3 or more skeletons and you will have a hard time.

Dont skimp out on good armor. If you have ranger armor upgrade it to reinforced version. You will use it for whilea so the upgrade is worth it.

Always bring a bow. Any bow will do. With a bow, you can hunt effectively, or kill giants safely. You will also need a bow to cheese guya so levelling your bow skills is worthwhile.

How to reach high places(where chests are located) that I can't reach normally?

If inside a dungeon : Build stairs to reach it.

If atop a tree/structure in the wild : Chop the tree or demolish the structure.

If hanging from a floating balloon : Shoot the balloon with an arrow.

If all the above are un-feasible, you can break the chest from afar with arrows and collect the loot that drops.

Can I customise my character or character name again after I have already created it?

No, character customization is a one-time process.

Where do I find sticks?

In the Forest, the second biome. They drop from trees, which you can cut either with a flint axe or better, or by having a Goblin Thug ( the giant monster ) smash them.

Where do I find cotton?

Cotton seeds, as well as other seeds, is sold by a merchant in the Plains shelter. After getting seeds, you can farm them to get cotton.

How do I complete the quest taking a photo of a statue?

Make sure you have a green crosshair when taking the photo.

My friend can’t do anything in my world, is that normal?

He is probably in visitor mode, in which case, he has to apply to settle in your world after using the world-invite-code that you send him.

I need a key/item in the main quest but there is nothing in the dungeon, what do I do?

You are probably in multiplayer and someone already did the dungeon. The pointer shall still point to the same dungeon, however you can finish your quest by using any other dungeon located in the same biome.

Should I buy a follower?

It’s up to you. They are not needed to progress in the game and they are quite expensive but they can bring some enjoyable bonuses regarding aspects like backpack slots or PvE.
