Comments:

A Normal Boy In A Fantasy World

The series that Adventurer Trainer is a parody of is this Japanese light novel series called, KonoSuba. I will admit that had I not come across this game by accident, KonoSuba would still be something I knew absolutely zero about, so I cannot say how faithful this is to its source material. However, I found the whole premise of this regular guy ending up in a fantasy world and having to do a bunch of quests something that was fun and easy to get into.

Keeping Things Light

I think that a huge reason Adventurer Trainer clicked with me so much was that the story was not taking itself too seriously. Even as someone that was not familiar with this world and its characters, I was able to get into it and have fun. The writing is witty and the character development and relationships were fun, although I do feel that the game pushed you down the harem route, I did not have any problems with this and felt that it fit with the tone they were going for.

Good For The Soul

While the story was something that clicked with me as I was playing Adventurer Trainer. I have to say that it was the RPG style gameplay that I found very addictive about things. It is like a sandbox game where you have to click around, take on quests, build relationships, and do things at a certain time. It gives you hints so that you know what to do and the grinding was actually kind of fun. We have a four party battle system that was very easy to get to grips with and you can even auto battle if you want, but I liked the combat in the game so I would probably not recommend that you do that!

The Best Of Both World

Again, I am not familiar with the world of KonoSuba, but I can say that Adventurer Trainer is a fantastic looking game! The combat is done in a retro pixel style and it has a ton of charm to it. But, it is the rest of the visuals that impressed the hell out of me here. Going for an anime look, the game has some fantastic lewd content that has smooth animations and characters that have a great look to them. My only complaint is that it can be very easy to miss a lewd scene with a girl so be sure to think before you act!

Developer Notes:

Hey, Adventurers! Merry Christmas!

It truly is a miracle season.I've decided to go ahead and release v0.2.0 in its current state for the Crusader+ Patrons. I'll be out for the holidays and then have a business trip lined up, and I couldn't bear the thought of delaying the release all the way to 2025.

I've sat on this one for quite some time; frankly, I was quite depressed and under a lot of pressure at my job during some of the last few months, and not only unable to work on this, but also questioning the game and every other life choice I've ever made. In other words, a classic mid-life crisis.

Luckily it's all ogre now, and I think I'm going to try something new for the release cycle. Previously I set pretty unrealistic targets for myself for each release, delaying each build and inevitably pushing a lot of content further down the line. The same exact thing I used to blame my project managers for :) I'll be aiming to make more frequent updates, albeit they will be smaller, favoring releases over packing them with more content. Hopefully that will help with the burnout too, and I'm sure y'all would appreciate more updates.

With all that said, let's talk about the new release! It fell short of my intended targets for content, but it's still a good-sized update. Lots of gameplay/technical changes and improvements, three new H-scenes, a bunch of fixes, and a much-awaited infinite dungeon!

There were a few events I was planning to include in this, but seeing as 2024 is coming to an end, I unfortunately don't have the time to do it, so they will have to roll over to 0.2.1.

Final words:

Adventurer Trainer is a visual and animation project designed for adult players. They provided a very detailed Fanfic's famous anime universe, which added a lot of details from other worlds and their own ideas. All games fall somewhere between role-playing games and dating simulators, with a lot of explicit content in the protagonist's adventures. But in the development process of the script, he did not expect it. Anyway, in all prepared adventures, you definitely won't miss it. Whether it is existing or future.
