This app has a lot of fun faces to add to your Apple Watch. I question why I would want to pay $60 a year for watch faces, so the premium tier is not for me.My biggest complaint is that the app itself is very buggy. Half the Explore menu often goes blank, meaning you can’t get to the rest of the categories. Trying to favorite a face sometimes means it goes into a loop. You have to force-close and reopen the app to restore it, and that sometimes has to be done more than once. But the most irritating thing is that when you choose a face to favorite it, you’re dragged all the way back to the top of that menu when you come out again. Please, programmers, add in some stability! I gave up on looking at the categories out of frustration.I will enjoy the few faces I did manage to choose before I gave up.

This is a very unique issue where I was recommended the fallout pipboy face by my sister and it was a terrible experience. With Facer, The only way to even get info on this one specific face was to subscribe and pay $7/month. I was willing to buy the subscription for the one face but after I did, I found out that my rarely worn Apple Watch was not compatible, it was just a little too old. So to make it worth the $7 price I decided to just find something, anything, fun and upload it. Only 25% of the available faces were compatible with my watch. Most people of the faces were made for newer model of Apple Watches and I had no way to sort for anything compatible. The interface was actually so simplified that even searching within themes was turning up mixed results at best. So I spent a little over an hour clicking on each face that remotely piqued my interest to see if it was compatible. Estimating that out of the 75 faces I clicked on, only 15 were compatible and uploadable without downloading a mystery file. After that I was so frustrated that I just gave up. Seeing the icon in my programs really irked me, but thankfully I remembered to unsubscribe before I got charge for another month. So for anyone without the newest smart watch from a short list of very specific manufacturers, steer clear of this app. And NEVER install a file onto your phone that you can’t vet.

I was very excited to see the huge selection of watch faces, downloaded a couple to my watch, and then bought the ten buck first year subscription. Then I discovered that about 1 in 3 of the faces with more complications just won’t work no matter what you do. I’ve tried opening Facer on my watch to refresh complications but that rarely works. So then I’ve rebooted both my watch and my iPhone as they suggested but that doesn’t work either very often. It doesn’t seem to happen with any particular creator either, so it seems to be a problem with Facer not the designers. The faces with just rotating photos download fine, just not some of the ones with health or weather complications.Also Favorites hearts are no longer showing up, so you can’t edit your Favorites. The faces still save to Favorites but you end up with tons of them because the hearts no longer show up to “unheart” any of them. And every time.you go into a face on your list and go back out, it goes back to the top of your list. There seems to be no way to organize Favorites either. In short, this app just needs work!
